A foul creature was stalking a small man in the night. His eyeless socket followed wherever the man walked. The man stopped as he could hear the clicking of claws like a big dog on the path behind him. The temperature around him suddenly dropped and the smell of rotting flesh invaded his senses. He turned around slowly and he saw this foul creature was stalking him on all fours. The moonlight was reflecting off its hard leathery skin. Its sharp black teeth were bared with flesh hanging from between its dark lips with blood and drool dripping down its chin. The man stood there shaking looking at this beast and in one swift movement this foul creature pounced onto the terrified man.

I woke still hearing the man's screams, sweat dripping down my head and tears falling from my eyes.

It is pitch black in my room so it must still be the middle of the night.

I have been having nightmares now for a few weeks and each night I wake up wrapped in a blanket of fear, I feel like these terrible nightmares are happening to me.

I lay in the quiet, trying to get my thumping heartbeat back to normal. The clock at the side of my bed reads 1.58AM. The minutes on the clock slowly slipped by and I finally calmed down, but I soon realised that sleep was going to evade me for the rest of this evening.

I decide to get up, so I climbed out of my wamr comfy bed and the cold night air hit my bare legs. My little red shorts were not a good idea on a cold night like tonight, so I grab my blue fluffy blanket off my bed and wrap it around myself and slide my cold feet into my nice fluffy slippers that was the same colour as my blanket and shuffled my way down my hallway into the bathroom. I turn the light on and I am blinded by the how bright it is, as my eyes adjust to the light I look in the mirror and I see I have dark circles under my bright blue eyes the dark circles seem to be getting worse with each night of crappy sleep. My long brown hair is tangled and a mess, I decide to just put it into a bun on top of my head.

I finish in the bathroom and make my way down the stairs, as I enter the kitchen I flick the kettle on, a large coffee was going to be needed. As I wait for the kettle to boil, I look out of the window, it was pitch black and the branches from the trees were the only things visible as they swayed in the wind, one or two stars dotted the night sky as the moon hid behind the clouds letting off very little light.

Out the corner of my eye I catch a shadow, but by the time I can turn my head to have a look at whatever it was it had gone. I put it down to the lack of sleep making me see things. I hear the kettle behind me boil and the switch click back up. I go make a strong cup of coffee in my favourite red cup, as I turn around to go sit at my breakfast bar that's when I see a tall man standing at my door.
