Warren's face darkened as he looked at her and spoke with an unfriendly tone, "I gave you a chance, but you didn't want it. Now, you're having second thoughts and targeting my grandmother?"

Evelyn was confused. She turned to the old lady beside her, asking incredulously, "He's your grandson?"

Bonnie Durbin smiled and nodded. "Yes. You know each other? That's wonderful! With a foundation of affection, both of you will get along just fine."

Evelyn gave an awkward smile and said, "I'm sorry, but since your family has come to pick you up, I have to leave and attend to my affairs now."

Just as Evelyn stood up, Warren grabbed her wrist tightly. "You're just going to leave after hitting someone?"

Evelyn sneered at him. "Mr. Larkin, don't forget, I have a dashcam in my car. Don't even think about scamming me!"

Then, she turned and left without hesitation. But before she could get far, she heard Warren's icy voice.

"Evelyn, why go to such lengths to play this cat-and-mouse game with me?
