After the first wave of emotion came over her she was able to settle down a little bit. Desiree had never felt quite like this before and she knew that she had a lot of things to work through. She looked around the small house and even though it was nothing more than a small cottage it was probably still bigger than every house that she had lived in so far. She knew that everything in her life had been a lie. It was dealing with all of that as well as finding out the truth about her parents and the woman that she had thought was her mother.

She was also working enough to understand that Gabriel was not trying to force her into understanding anything. He wasn't moving very far away from her but at the same time he was giving her enough space that she said at least begin to process everything that she had just learned. He knew that it was going to be a long period of time before she would actually be able to completely understand all of the intricacies of everything that had happened to her so far in her very short life. He wasn't going to try and rush her on anything just for the simple fact that he knew by doing that he could push her away.

she had been taught to run. It was in her genetics as far as he could tell. Her family had been completely wiped off the island and he didn't even know if she had any real relatives left. When the war had broke out it was extremely bad for the minor royal families. Only his family had been left a completely intact and though he knew that there was something to that he had never actually tried to put too much thought into the fact that everybody else had suffered mass casualties but his family had not.

there were a lot of things that he didn't understand about that period of time in their history. But right now he was focused on the woman that was in front of him. He was actually pleased with the way that she looked. It had been one of those things that she had wondered about throughout the years. Would she be fair or would she be pretty enough to look at during the day.

there were so many questions that still where I left in the air. He didn't even know if she could transform yet. There were some of their kind that were unable to enforce to live in the human form for their entire existence. He knew their history and how they had begun but it was always one of those things in the back of his mind if she was one of the rare ones or is she was just going to be plain. not knowing was one of those questions that he had had for such a long time that it had basically taken root that she was this mythical creature period now looking at her he knew that there were things about her that he would never understand but she was real and she wasn't anything else but a person right now.

Ultimately their bloodlines had crossed multiple times to keep the royal family as royal as possible. They would be cousins or distant ones at least but in recent times they have branched out to some of the minor families just to keep the lines intact and healthy. They had seen the humans and the results of their  interbreeding. They knew that they had to make sure that the line had no impurities or any defects that could be caused by constant replication.

Desiree was everything that he had hoped for enemy at least physically. He knew that he was attracted to her and he knew that it was more than just their blood ceremony. There was much more to her that he could probably learn at a lifetime and he was going to try if she would allow him to. There was a lot of things that were going to be difficult. She end lived her life so completely different than what most of them whatever understand. they were going to have many fights about different things. He knew that the future was going to be long in sometimes torturous. But he could see that she had a backbone. She was going to be the perfect mate for him.

Desiree looked around the room and knew that this was the first time that she had really settled down since she had been taken from the house in the woods. “What's going to happen to the woman who raised me?” she finally broke the silence in the air as she was thinking about all the things and all the people that she had come across well she was missing from this place.

“she'll have to answer for what she did.” Gabriel he looked at her knowing that she was probably still very caring of the woman who had raised her. He wasn't going to tell her that the woman was probably going to be put to death.

“she wouldn't have taken me unless she was told to. You said that your mother had sent me away so I would be safe. Why is it that she would have to pay for that?” Desiree looked at him and knew the answer already. The alphas made who was his mother who is not going to ever be held responsible for sending her away. In her own mind she had thought that she was saving the girl.

“there are different ways that we do things here. she was supposed to bring you back after the war but she never did.” Gabriel said knowing that this was probably going to be very upsetting for her. He could understand that the woman was probably very much like a mother figure. That's what she kept referring to the other woman as. a mother. “because she didn't bring you back when she was supposed to that turned her into an outlaw. You were never supposed to be gone from the island that long. That way you would know who you were and what your culture actually is. Instead it seemed that she took you from pack to pack to hide you for some strange reason.”

“she must have had a reason.” Desiree says she just sat down on the couch that was there. She looked down at herself and wish that she had a little bit more clothes in her bag that she had been able to grab. right now she just wanted to change and she wanted to sleep as long as she possibly could.
