“You can't do this to me Damien, you can't throw me out," she cried as he shoved the divorce papers in her face. "Watch me try," he spat in disgust. "But I am pregnant, please reconsider, I'll do anything," she slumped to the ground, begging him as tears of pain streamed down her eyes.

"I don't give a damn, certainly it's not mine, go back to your lover," he signaled the bodyguards and they dragged her pathetic body away. "It's yours and you know it," she screamed as she was being dragged away.

The bulky bodyguards threw her out the front door in the cold winter, her body came in contact with the snow and she shivered. Cara wept as her things were thrown out of the house, she placed her hand on her flat stomach and prayed silently to The Big Guy upstairs. Damien stood by the window of his study room silently staring without pity at the miserable figure limping away in the cold.

"To think I almost fell in love with her," he snarled and gulped down the glass of whiskey in his hand.

Damien disliked her all through their marriage and mostly neglected her, he acted as if she was not there, they more or less lived like strangers sharing the same roof but as time went by, he started developing feelings for her, feelings he did not want to develop. On their first night together, he came back drunk from a Gala night and they consummated they marriage. The next morning when he woke up, he couldn't bring himself to regret it not after seeing her innocent and peaceful face.

The day the pictures were sent to him was the worse day of his life, he even had the photos checked in case it was photoshopped but the computer ‘expert’ assured him that the photos were original, he couldn't concentrate at work and had to come home early.

He walked into the Villa to find her cooking, acting all caring, he was disgusted. "You are early today, what happened?" she said turning to meet his gaze. "Come to my study when you're done cooking, we need to talk," he said coldly and walked away. Few minutes later she walked into the study.

"Have a sit," he said and as soon as she sat down, he threw the pictures on the table towards her, he carefully watched her expression as she studied the pictures, her expression changed from shock to annoyance.

"You can't possibly believe this, can you?" she stared at him pointing at the pictures. "I don't know, you tell me," he folded his arms acrose his chest and waited for her reply. Cara sighed softly as she looked the pictures on the table, the woman in the X-rated photos looked like a lot her from side view.

"I can assure you that I am not the one in this photos Damien, you've got to believe me," Cara struggled to keep the pain in her tone down.

"Where were you last Tuesday?" Anger laced in his voice and his hands clenched, she stared at him unable to answer.

"You know what? Sign this and get out of here, I'm tired of seeing that deceiving face of yours," he took the divorce papers from his safe and pushed to her, she took and tore it but not before reading it.

"I told you I didn't cheat on you," Cara yelled at him and threw the pieces away. He got up and grabbed her hand, thrusting another set of papers in her hand. "Don't test my patience Cara, signed the papers and be on your way."

"I already told you, I didn't cheat on you."

"Sign the damn fucking papers and get lost," Damien yelled at her and pushed her away, she fell and twisted her ankle. Cara groaned in pain, she looked at him with tears rolling down her eyes.

"Who sent it to you?"

"It doesn't matter, now signed this or I'll make life unbearable for you," he threatened though his heart was in pain seeing her grovelling before him but he let his hate overwhelm him.

Damien succeeded in getting Cara to sign the divorce and watched as the bodyguards threw her out of the house. "Good bye Cara," he drank the last drink and left the window.

Cara limped down the street in the cold winter night dragging her luggage as she walked to the road, she was so tired that she could not cry, she walked for a long distance before stopping at the front of her friend, McKenzie's house. She walked up the door and knocked on it wincing at the frostbite pain.

"Who's that?" a voice came from the inside, the door slowly opened revealing a tall, slender woman.

"Oh my freaking God! Cara! what are you doing out in the cold? don't you know that there is going to be a terrible blizzard tonight?" McKenzie, Kenzie for short, dragged her inside and shut the door. She went and turn up the heater in the house then made a hot chocolate drink for Cara before asking her what happened. Cara wept profusely as she narrated the details, Kenzie was so furious that she almost marched off to Damien’s house in the middle of the blizzard.

"Stay here while I find some ointment for your fingers," Kenzie left to find the ointment.

"I keep you safe, no one is ever going to hurt you, love, I'll give you all of my love, your life is not gonna be like mine," Cara whispered silently as she stroked her belly. "You're pregnant, right?" Kenzie asked leaning on the door staring at her and Cara shook her head.

"How far along are you now?"

"Three weeks," came Cara's short reply.

The room became silent once again, Kenzie walked up to Cara, taking her hands she rubbed the ointment on her fingers and gently put them down. "We will take care of this child, I can be his or her Godmother and we'll be the jolly good fellas," Kenzie sang the last part and the two of the bursted out laughing.

The next day, the internet blasted with the most trending news; “Secret affair and divorce of Cara Zoric, the Billionaire Damien's wife”. People all over Babcock city were astonished.

Meanwhile, Kenzie was preparing breakfast, when she was done, she took her phone and went online. Immediately, the news notifications popped into her phone, her eyes widened as she read the headlines.

"Good morning Kenzie," Cara yawned and rubbed her eyes but Kenzie sat on the couch stiffened, she walked towards her and Kenzie sensing her nearness, hid her phone.

"What are you hiding Kenzie?"

"N..n..nothing!"

"You were staring at your phone for the past five minutes and you are telling me nothing? don't hide things from me."

"Ok," Kenzie showed her the headlines and she chocked on air, Cara slowly sat down still staring at the phone.

"I can't believe that Damien would stoop so low to get what he wants," Kenzie flared up. "It's not Damien, he doesn't like the media getting into any of his business," She held her head in her hands. Wow, you are still defending him after everything he’s done to you? Kenzie raged.

“No, Damien would never do such a thing”. Cara persisted.

“If not Damien, then wh...” Kenzie queried.

“I don’t know”. Cara interrupted.

"What do we do?" Kenzie asked pacing around the room.

"I'll go to my parents."
