Opening my eyes, her deep fragrance alone was enough for me to know that it was her.

“What are you doing here?” Frustrated, I tried to keep my voice low.

What's she doing in my bed?

Is she out of her mind?

What's she doing in my house in the first place?

“Honey, I don't understand…” Jessica sat up beside me, looking very confused.

I wonder what I'd said wrong or which word I'd mispronounced.

“Where else am I supposed to sleep if not here?” She continued. “Come on, stop scaring me, Honey. I thought-”

“Stop calling me that.” I also sat up, annoyed by the fact that she was acting oblivious.

Her puzzled look confused me. Does she think this is okay?

“I- I should stop calling you that?” Jessica stammered, staring at me in disbelief. “Why? Aren't we married? Aren't we a couple?”

Does she even listen to herself?

I was right in thinking something was wrong with her by the way she acted carefreely.

When did we get married?

“Come on, stop scaring me.” Jessica clasped my arm, her eyes welling up

You're too blunt and rude. it shows in your language. If you don't enjoy the story, kindly drop it instead of spouting insults. If it's easy, try writing your own novel.

A flicker of fear. And then her expression paled.Olivia stuttered, “Y-You, what are you up to?”I didn’t stop walking until her back hit the opposite wall. What I was doing? If only someone could tell me.All I knew was that her vulnerability and fear made me feel good somehow. Not in a psychotic way, but more of a satisfaction. “B-Back off, Theo. Or I might do something you won’t like!” She warned, pressing her back to the wall. “Remember your position. Remember my status.”I scoffed.Hearing her remind me that she was married irritates me. Thank goodness my sanity is still intact. Otherwise, who cares whether she’s married or not?How dare she even remarry?“Theo, I swear if you lay your filthy hands on me, your grandfather must hear of it!” She stuttered. “So stop-”“Right. Grandpa has always protected you.” I dropped my palms on the wall, caging her in between. “How interesting that you’re always boasting about that. Right now, you’re my only problem. Because of you, my own gra

  • Divorced To Steal His Heart    211. Too Confident

“That’s a lame excuse for not owning up to your crime…” Olivia balled her fists. “Dave will never wander off willingly, knowing the impact it will have on others.”“Oh, really?” I raised a brow.Did she forget what happened months ago?Didn’t the little guy follow me back to L.A. willingly?“Well, it is different now!” Olivia defended, seemingly aware of the meaning behind my question. “Dave will never repeat that. Even last time was a mistake because he thought you were a good person.”“I am a good person,” I corrected her. “You’re just blinded by hatred and grudge and fail to see the goodness in me.”Olivia scoffed. “Bantering with you is insignificant, Theo! Just bring him out, or only one of us will leave this office today.”I chuckled at her words, amazed at the audacity. What can she really do to me?Returning to my swivel chair, I sat down and picked up my phone.“What are you doing?” She strode to my side. “You’re the most heartless man. Even if it’s not you who stole my son,

Theo’s POV.I was speechless for a moment. When she called me a while ago and asked to see me, I couldn’t believe my ears. I’d thought of so many reasons why Olivia would want to see me. I’d looked forward to seeing her in my office.I’d expected anything from her, but this!“Cat got your tongue?” She gripped my collar tightly. “You managed to fool Grandpa, do you really think that you can fool everyone? Bring him out right now, Theo, or you won’t like the outcome.”My secretary was at the door, watching everything unfold. She squeezed my collar, rumpling my shirt in the process. Well, this is embarrassing. “You can’t just barge into someone’s office and attack them, Ma’am.” The secretary came forward, trying to pull her away. “I’ll get the security if you don’t let go.”“Leave us alone…” I dismissed her. “And close the door on your way out.”“But, Mr. Wellington-” The secretary looked confused, glancing from me to Olivia. “What about this lady?”“It’s not a big deal.”“Not a big d

Maya Wellington? That’s Theo’s mother. What were they doing, taking the kids to Maya’s Ward? And what did she mean by there’s no such program? It shouldn’t be… “Can you tell me how he looks?” I returned my attention to her, despite my heart telling me that the kid had to be my son.Dave must have stormed out after seeing Theo’s mother.I don’t know what exactly happened, but one thing is for sure…This could be a set-up!After the lady described the kid’s appearance, I was a hundred percent sure that it was Dave.My heart dropped and I lost balance for a moment.“Dr. Olivia, are you alright?” She held my hand. “What’s wrong? Are you related to that kid?”I had no time to answer her question. Dave went missing from this hospital last night.I have to find Ethan.I need to report this to the authorities. But first of all, Theo Wellington has a lot of explanations to do.He’d definitely set this up with Dr. Davison. Maybe he’d abducted Dave and taken him somewhere instead of the Villa.

Grandpa sounded disappointed. I couldn’t understand his words for a moment until realization dawned on me.It’s not what I’m thinking, is it?“Grandpa, I don’t understand…” I asked, dreading his response. Grandpa replied, “What do you mean, Dear? Didn’t you take him home with you from the hospital last night? The driver I sent him with couldn’t find him, and one of the nurses in charge said that he left with you.”“Dave didn’t leave the hospital with me!” I quickly shook my head, instantly regretting agreeing to Dr. Davison’s proposal.I hope nothing bad has happened to him.He was supposed to have gone home with the driver last night. Grandpa also said he would send him with a bodyguard. How could he escape their sight? What exactly happened last night?“Then does that mean my great-grandson has gone missing!?” Grandpa sounded enraged. “I know you were busy, Olivia, but you should have looked for him in the hospital. Maybe he got lost while trying to find your office.”Dave wouldn’t

  • Divorced To Steal His Heart    207. Bring Him Home

I sat on the bed with my hand still on my chest. The constant heartbeat didn’t cease until some moments later.“Olivia…” Ethan’s mother’s voice sounded again, reminding me that she was still there. This time, she didn’t knock but opened the door and walked in. “Is everything alright, Dear? What happened? You look scared…”Do I?I shouldn’t be this afraid, as it was only a dream. But dreaming about marrying Theo again was more of a nightmare. “I’m fine, Mom…” I assured her, forcing a smile. “It was just a bad dream. Nothing serious.”“Are you sure?” The woman sat on the bed and reached out to touch my forehead. In the cold weather, I was sweating profusely. She dropped her hand and then sighed and shook her head. “It’s all Ethan’s fault. If he hadn’t had the emergency last night and stayed beside you, you wouldn’t have experienced the nightmare.”“Don’t worry, Mom. I’m not complaining…” I took her hand. “Besides, if Ethan doesn’t work hard, how are we gonna survive?”“He has his gra
