A lovely hello to all my readers. Hope you have enjoyed the story of Don and Kate. I'd like to take up a little time of your's to give you a glimpse of the new book that will be released soon.

PROLOGUE:

“W-why are you looking a me like that?” My voice trembled as I took a tentative step backward.

My poor heart beat faster when he moved towards me, his eyes glowering like I’ve never seen before. Tiny hairs on the back of my neck pricked in awareness as he scanned me from head to toe, as though he was undressing me with his dark grey orbs.

“What happened to you?” My question came out like nothing more than a mere whisper, but other than the predatory expression on his face, he spared nothing.

Why wouldn’t he talk to me?

Was it because of what happened between us yesterday? I would have asked him if I wasn’t too scared. He had never once given me a reason to be afraid of him before, but now I was terrified of this man.

Whimpering in fear, I slowly backed away from him, desperately wishing that I hadn’t come here in the first place.

His gaze momentarily shifted to my feet and then settled on my face.

“You aren’t going anywhere, love” his threatening words shattered the thick silence along with my left-over confidence.

Defying his command, I moved back again. A low growl reverberated in his chest as he took a warning step towards me and my brain screamed at me to run.

And so, I did.

I don’t know where I go the strength from, but I managed to turn my body around and run like my life depended on it.

He immediately began chasing me and I could hear his huge strides rapidly closing in on me from behind. I worked my legs faster, dodging all the obstacles in my path and aiming for the exit door of the mansion. And to my luck it was slightly ajar, just like the way I had left it.

“Stop running Trix” he grunted, his voice like the thunder that accompanies destruction. But I didn’t dare stop.

I had to get out here in one piece and I was not sopping anytime soon.

I was out of breath when I reached the door and clutched the knob, but before I could open it further, it was slammed shut by his powerful hand.

I screamed and tried to move away but Caspian was already pressing into me from behind, molding my front into the wall.

“Please...” I cried in vain. My petite body was trapped between the stone wall and the beast of a man. Both unmovable.

“I’ve finally found you, my mate!” his raspy voice caressed my ears but before I could make sense of it, Caspian was aggressively clearing my hairs away from my neck. One of his rough hands found purchase on my hair while the other coiled around my waist, holding me in place.

A sob tore free from my throat when I felt his hardness digging into my back.

“Shh... mia cara, I’ll take good care of you” he kissed my exposed neck, causing my breathing to become labored. He then tugged at the fisted hair to get a better access to my neck and tightened his arm around my squirming body. I felt constricted from all sides and I wasn’t even sure if I was breathing anymore.

And then I felt it. His cold fangs descending to the side of my neck. My body suddenly went limp at the shock of intrusion and I let out a scream of agony. The pain was just too much for me to take. But it wasn’t the thing that hurt the most. It was the way that he was completely blind towards my pain.

Didn’t he care about me at all?

His fangs pierced deeper into my tender flesh and I winced, jerking against his body like a rag doll. Tears flooded my cheeks as my fingers dug into his hand around my waist, praying for him to let go of me.

I was disgusted by the way he was devouring me like his last meal. We had a beautiful relationship and he had to do this to wreck it all.

All of a sudden, my emotions shifted and I went from being scared to being angry. In a matter of seconds, I was enraged. In utter desperation, I searched around for a potential weapon I could use against him. Fortunately, I spotted a flower vase close to where we stood.

His hold around me slackened when he retreated his fangs from my neck. I held back a whimper at the numbing sensation. He languidly traced his tongue on my skin and was licking the blood off of my wound when my fingers discretely curled around the ceramic vase.

In a flash I twisted in the circle of his arm and smashed it on his head. Caspian stumbled back with a hand braced on the side of his head, completely caught off guard by my act.

“Fuck you!” I spat on his puzzled face. With out wasting another second, I yanked the door open and dashed outside. My vision blurred with tears as my bare feet wobbled on the tiny rocks in the way.

“Wait! Don’t leave me! I need you!” Caspian shouted, racing to catch up with me. But I was done with whatever was there between us. It was my fault that I came to this cursed piece of land in the first place.

I increased my speed, putting all of my energy into my legs.

“Trixie don’t go...” there was an unmistakable crack in his voice but I chose to ignore it. He wasn’t bothered about my pain so why should I feel for him?

I felt liberated when I crossed the boundary of the curse and then I stopped because I knew that he won’t be able to harm me anymore.

Caspian was running towards me as I watched but he wasn’t slowing down. He was nearing the boundary but he wasn’t even looking at it. He only had eyes for me.

As expected, he stepped on the forbidden place. I gasped when Caspian’s body collided with an invisible force and got tossed to the ground. He grunted and tried to get up but the witch’s magic was too powerful for his healing powers. After trying a few more times he gave up and raised his head to look at me.

The tears that streamed down his face glistened under the moon light.

He was crying too.

“Please... my love...” he croaked painfully.

But I had already made up my mind.

“I’ll never forgive you for hurting me and you will never see or hear from me again. Goodbye Caspian” I declared coldly, even as my heart constricted with the thought of never seeing him again.

Taking in all of his handsome features for one last time I closed my eyes and turned around. I took a deep breath and peered up at the full moon above head that bore witness to this night’s events before journeying towards my place.

Afterall, he truly was the monster that everyone made him out to be, but I was just a little too late to see it.   *********************
