Killian

Walking in hearing my mate say she wouldn't be claiming me or letting me claim her pisses my wolf the fuck off big time. I reel him in by reminding him that she's been hurt recently, and probably just scared.

I step into the room further and watch my wolves look back and forth nervously. She backs up keeping her eyes on me warily like I might hurt her.

“I'm not going to hurt you, you can relax.” I continue to watch her pull back.

“That remains to be seen.” I have to smile at her snark.

“Fair enough. Your introduction into our world has been extremely violent so I can understand your reluctance. However, mates are special, and refusing yours isn't really done, ever.”

“Well, there's a first time for everything. I was already forced into this shit, I'll be fucking damned before I'm forced into anything more.” She just kept watching me.

I started to realize this was more than just this whole situation. This seemed far more ingrained behavior than that. So, I was going to have to figure out how to fix this. I wouldn't be walking away from my mate, or letting her walk away from me.

“So, what would you like to do? I heard you tell them there's no one to notify. Do you have a house you need to return to, or should we notify an employer for you?” I watched her flinch at my question.

“No, I'm sure I've been evicted for non-payment of rent and lost my job after more than 2 months.” I saw her grit her teeth and her eyes flashed a darker shiny blue for a second. That was very interesting. As human her eyes were a light, almost sky blue, but her wolf was a deep almost violet blue, and had that animal shine to it, I would have to watch for that subtle shift.

My wolf surged forward wanting to be close to his mate, and I saw her wolf respond to Siril, and I had to grin at that, as she didn’t seem all that happy at them wanting to be close to each other. I heard her sigh, “They will want to be close to one another as mates, it’s a whole biological thing with them. Mates are a huge thing in our world, we wait for them, we dream of them, they are the only ones we can truly be happy with, so mates are a blessing to us.”

She rubbed her hands on her face, “Well, I have issues with being told I have to do shit. I had enough of that, so, I’m not overly likely to just fall in line because someone tells me I have to, even if that is the someone currently occupying my brain.”

I nodded, so I was right, this was a bigger issue than her forced change, and I had a feeling she had been assaulted, which made my wolf feral, and I had a hard time keeping hold of him, but I reminded him most of the ones responsible were already dead. That helped to calm him some.

“How about this then. Since you currently have no home, or employer, you stay here with the Lakeside pack. You get to know us, and know me. You give your wolf the chance to be around other wolves who are good wolves, as wolves are pack creatures and need others to truly be happy. So, that way you can get more accustomed to things, and you and I can get to know one another. Would that be more acceptable?”

“Only for now. If I decide to go, you let me go.” Sirll almost pushed forward, but I thought hard, I would have to convince her cause I would not allow her to leave me. I felt terrible about my lie, but I nodded, and I saw her visibly relax. I also saw Nissa looking at me with wide eyes. To her credit though, she said nothing.

“Nissa, how about you take Alora up to her room, and help her get some clean clothes, get what she needs for a shower, and then take her to the kitchens for some food. That should help get your wolf more settled. Then we can talk about when you need to shift to allow her to run.” She looked at me wide eyed at that, then just followed Nissa out of the room.

“That girl has a whole heap of shit she already had piled on top of her before those bastards even laid a hand on her.” Dr. Martin stated as he watched them leave the room.

“Yeah, I gathered that as well. This will be a dance that’s for sure, but Seril will be able to reach out to her wolf, so that should help.” Dr. Martin side eyed me but remained silent.

I left and went in search of Paul and Marcus. They were both in the conference room going over all of the items we had confiscated from the dead men, and location. So I wanted to know what they might have found. They both turned and looked at me as I entered the room.

“She squared away, boss?” Marcus asked me, and I nodded.

“Nissa is taking her up to her room and getting her settled for right now.” He nodded.

“So what can you guys tell me about what we have found?” They both looked through some of the papers in front of them.

“Well, Alora Bannon, she worked at that 24/7 dinner, Pete’s right by that truck stop off the highway. It looks like from what they said before they died, and this bullshit, that they messed with her car so she’d have to walk to work in the dark, through the park right next to her apartment complex there on Ave. J. They were waiting for her, and attacked her, the beta, Rodgers was watching, and he fetched her after they tore her up.” Marcus states from the forms he’s reading.

“They weren’t expecting her to be a female alpha, but I can understand that, as I’ve never heard of that either.” Paul my beta interjects.

“Do we know why they targeted her? I mean aside from the fact that she’s beautiful?” They both smiled at that and I flipped them off.

“Seems they saw her kick a man's ass, he attacked her after her shift one night, she beat the shit out of him, banged his head against her car till he was unconscious, and then spit on him. They were impressed. That’s what got her moved to the night shift. Her boss was worried there’d be some backlash after she was so violent in defending herself. Stupid pussy.” Marcus shook his head in disgust at that.

“Well, she’s most definitely a spitfire, so I can see that. So, now we just have to get past all of those defenses and convince her we’re not the bad guys.” They both blew out a breath along with me. That was easier said than done.

  • Don't Claim Me   Possible Sticky Situation

KillianAs she passes out and drops to the floor, her body twitches, so I have no idea if this is a flashback and her mind is overwhelmed and that’s why her eyes rolled back and she dropped, or if this is just a way her body has of shutting shit down if she gets severely triggered.I’m going to have to address the pack about this whole fucked up bullshit, but I have to figure out how much to say and how much not to say. I am worried that if they think she is weak or defective that she will be challenged more. I am not worried about her being able to best the challengers, I am more worried about losing pack members to the bullshit.Although, she did best Suzanne with her bare hands, and not even her wolf, so maybe that will keep the challenges down when I explain some things about their new Luna to my pack. I don’t think I can skip that step. Wolves are very tactile creatures and they will want to touch her and hug her, case in point right now, so this will be an issue.Earlier it had

  • Don't Claim Me   You Are So SOL

AloraHearing that he'd somewhat be able to hear and see inside my head was some seriously fucked up shit. I was being completely honest. He would very much regret that. I know, I'm forced to deal with it every single fucking day. He's looking at me confused and wondering what the fuck is wrong with me. So, I decided a demonstration is in order. So, I stop blocking, letting the memories, emotions, horror and fucking evil bullshit that has made up my whole damn life, flood me.He staggered back sucking in a breath. He's shaking, gritting his teeth, and I see he's losing control of his wolf. The doctor comes over and touches me. That sets something off, and I start trying to pull it in. Having someone touch me unexpectedly is always a bad thing. So, no doubt he was trying to get me to stop whatever I was doing to his alpha. Instead he just triggered me, so it just got worse. I'm trying to pull it back, but my mind is now caught, with the inability to distinguish past from present, and m

  • Don't Claim Me   Talking About It

KillianI told Siril to back off so we could possibly help dampen the flood of emotion she was probably getting from us. It seemed to help as she calmed and just laid there with her eyes closed and panted gently. I went to the side of the bed just looking down at her beautiful face that was drawn in distress. Then she opened her eyes and there was so much there. She was exhausted still, she was hurt and confused, and there was a huge bunch of pissed the fuck off looking back at me. I did notice that it wasn’t her wolf who was pissed, it was Alora. Not that I blamed her, I really hadn’t meant for it to happen that way.“Did you plan that?” She asked me softly as he stared up at me.“No, Alora, I honestly didn’t. I’m sorry, I should have anticipated the mate pull would be too much for Siril and he would want to claim your wolf. I was trying to pull him in and shift, but I couldn’t manage to do it before all of that happened, and then he bit. To wolves it’s instinctual, there’s no emoti

  • Don't Claim Me   Too Much

KillionAs I rushed down to medical I was aware that blood was flowing out behind me, and there was a lot of alarm about what had happened. I felt my enforcers asking about an attack, I assured them this wasn't from an attack, this was from an accident. There was acknowledgement. The second I was in the door I was yelling for Dr. Martin. He took one look at the state we were in and hurried us to a back trauma exam room that we used for wolves injured during attacks. I put her down on the bed, and her body was still struggling, and she was still bleeding, but it was starting to slow.“What happened Alpha?” He looked at me briefly and could see I’m sure the agony on my face.“We let our wolves out to get to know one another, and to begin to get her used to shifting, and being around wolves, and around me especially. We’d had a great afternoon, she was doing well. Her wolf was friendly and playful, not to mention beautiful, she’s white, solid white. We were back at the river taking it e

  • Don't Claim Me   Mistake

KillianIt has been 3 fucking weeks since Alora came to the pack. She has been helping out at different places, and she is very efficient. I think some of the pack are surprised she’s not more social, as normally wolves are more social creatures. I think some members of the pack understand that the way she became a wolf was very traumatic, and what happened afterward has made her leery. What they don’t know and I know in my gut, and Dr. Martin very much agrees with me about, is that this girl has a heap more on her shoulders than just what happened to change her into a wolf, and what those bastards did to her after her change. No, there are layers of scars that she is carrying around with her, and it’s affecting everything, including us being mates.I am having more and more trouble keeping Siril away from her wolf. I am trying to get her used to my presence and let her get her wolf time to be around mine, so hopefully that eases the way for us to move forward. The pack knows she’s my

  • Don't Claim Me   The Challenge

KillianI am at my desk going over the reports that I got from Marcus and Paul about the girls we rescued today. Most of them are settling in pretty well. Two have family we are going to have to bring into all of this, so that’s always a delicate balance to do. We have a couple that are pregnant, so they need help with the pups, so that’s always another thing with situations like this. I am very glad that Alora wasn’t one of those, although, if she had been, we’d have handled that and accepted the pup as ours, that’s the nature of wolves, especially mates. I hear a knock on my door, but before I can even say come in, Elizabeth is opening the door and rushing in, “We have a problem.”“What?” I can see she’s upset, so I am wondering what has happened.“Suzanna is going after Alora.” I choked and sputtered at that.“What the fuck did you just say?” She huffed.“I know, that’s why I’m here, Suzanna is going after Alora, apparently she thinks she can scare her away from you or some shit.
