-SIENNA-

It was Friday night, and I couldn't believe I was going to a hockey game for the second time in my life. Michelle took advantage of my drunkenness last Monday to convince me to go.

The first time I attended an ice hockey game was last year, right when Michelle started dating Hank. At the time, we were sitting in the area reserved for wives and girlfriends—or WAGs, as they call them. As I didn't fit into either of these categories, I felt super awkward the whole time. But I was convincing myself that this time would be different.

According to Harper, I should have asked Matt for his jersey, but the idea made me very uncomfortable, and I didn't do it. Then Michelle offered me one of her sweaters with Hank's number on it, which I obviously rejected. I chose to wear a black single-front top with a bow at the back of the neck and paired it with black jeans. My hair was loose, with soft curls, and I was wearing light make-up. Before I left the house, I remembered to put on a leather jacket. I always get cold in the arena.

The last thing I want today is to draw attention. We agreed to keep our marriage a secret and I needed to blend in with the crowd as much as possible.

Michelle lives in Hank's penthouse on the west side, near the park. It's not far from my apartment, so I decided to meet her there. I found her dressed in some sexy black leather pants and, as usual, Hank’s jersey. She's got her hair up in a neat bun and makeup that emphasizes her cat eyes. She always looks gorgeous and today was no exception.

Together we entered the arena. This time it was just the two of us, because Harper was out of town on a business trip.

We found our seats and not long after, they announced the players.

"Look, there is Hank", shouted Michelle, pointing at him, as he skated on the ice.

Some of the women behind us commented when they saw him and giggled. With his dark skin, chocolate-colored eyes and muscular physique, Hank is often the heartthrob of the team. Michelle doesn't mind. On the contrary, she's even proud of it. But, of course, he only has eyes for her.

He scanned the room, probably searching for her. When their eyes connected, he began to make a heart with his hands for her.

Matt arrived skating too and stopped a few meters from him. As Hank walked over to the plexiglass to blow kisses at Michelle, Matt shook his head from side to side as the corner of his lips lifted slightly.

Hank was always like that. He loves her to the bone and doesn't mind looking goofy or silly. They're very cute together. If there were more men like Hank, maybe I wouldn't be so skeptical about believing in relationships.

Matt then turned his gaze to our seats and saw me. His dark hair was messy, and he looked incredibly hot. When his gaze met mine, surprise and something else I couldn't quite decipher flashed across his face. His mouth turned into a big smile. I hadn't seen Matt smile since the day I agreed to the marriage, and until that moment, I didn't realize how much I missed it.

And, just like that time, Matt's smile trapped me in a place I never wanted to leave. I waved shyly and mouthed hi to him. Was he happy that I came to watch him play?

The first period was about to start, and he skated away, leaving me with some unknown feeling fluttering in the pit of my stomach.

-MATT-

I shouldn’t be nervous about today’s game. After all, I’ve been playing hockey since we moved from France when I was 8 years old.

But I am. The pressure was huge to perform well in another team, another city, another country.

Lewis was a great friend, and the other guys on the team are not bad, but this is not my home. I can't help it. I'm feeling out of sorts.

I wish my family had been here. Hell, I wouldn’t mind seeing f.ucking Anna here. Seeing a familiar face would help a lot.

During our warm-ups, Lewis started to do his goofy antics with his girlfriend, and it was very funny. I started to feel a little lighter when I turned my head in the direction where he was looking, and I found her.

With her dirty blonde hair contrasting with her dark jacket, Sienna shone under the arena lights like a f.ucking beacon. The other women around her were all heavily made-up, their hair styled, and they didn't stand a chance against Sienna’s beauty. She was easily the most beautiful girl here.

I should have gotten a golden medal for resisting her the other night. Even in the dim lights in the living room, I could make out the outline of her body beneath that silky nightgown. Those perky nipples pressing against her blouse and those tiny shorts hiding very little of those delicious, toned legs almost made me groan out loud.

I wanted to touch her very badly that I gripped the back of the couch so tightly my knuckles turned white.

Thank God she ran away when I was about to pounce on her. I should be focusing on rebuilding my career again, not lusting over my fake wife.

And that's why the next day I couldn't do anything but pretend nothing happened.

The whole week, I managed to only sleep, eat, and breathe hockey. The interactions with Sienna were kept to a bare minimum.

But on Friday, when our eyes collided in the arena, for a moment, I didn’t care if our marriage was just a scheme. I was just so f.ucking glad that I had someone over there to support me.

She sent me a shy smile that reassured me, and it was the encouragement I needed to kick a.ss today.

PRESENT DAY _____________ -NINA- "Why are you bringing your bikini? It’s almost winter and Austria is even colder than the US!" Harper asked, rummaging through my clothes. It was a sunny Sunday afternoon, and we were standing in the middle of her living room, with the sunlight streaming in through the window. I was packing my suitcase for a business trip I was going on tomorrow when Harper came to help me. Last week, we finally reached a conclusion on the distribution center. Our company's project was the one chosen by the client. But we didn't win everything. Even though our design was superior, the AMR group was awarded the contract for the construction. In the end, it was the best of both worlds combined for the client. For them, because now I have to work side by side with Chris's company. As we lost a lot of time before they finally made a decision, things need to be accelerated now. A team from both companies will travel to the client's headquarter

THIRTEEN YEARS AGO _______________________ -NINA- "Where is he?" I asked Kyle. "Over there, by the pool," he stretched his finger to the side of the house, where a stepped wooden deck surrounded a swimming pool. I didn't wait for him to say anything else before heading straight in the direction he pointed. Harper followed me behind until she stopped at some distance. I found Chris leaning against a glass railing, looking out at the city skyline in the distance. "Chris!" I called out to him, and he turned to me, swaying a little. He was wearing blue shorts and a white short-sleeved shirt. His top buttons were unbuttoned, his clothes were wrinkled and his hair was all disheveled. His eyes were red and he looked exhausted. Despite that, he remained absurdly handsome. "Nina? Is this real? " He asked me, confused. I quickly approached him, eager to be close to him again. The moon shone on his skin, making him look like a Greek statue. He extended his right arm towards m

THIRTEEN YEARS AGO _______________________ -NINA- I've thought a lot about us recently, and I feel we should break up. You and I are too different, and I don’t think we should be together anymore. I read the message Chris sent me for the hundredth time. At first, I thought it was a joke. After all, it came only two days after my birthday, the best day of my life. So, I answered with another joke. Oh, no. I'm devastated. So now I'm free to ask your friend Kyle out? But he didn’t reply to that text or any other one that I sent afterward. I tried to call him, but it went directly to voicemail. After a while, he blocked me. Over the next week, he disappeared from school. I started to grow anxious, suspecting that his evil uncle might have been involved. I even told my parents about our break-up. Not all the details, but the general idea. My mother was trying to convince me to report his disappearance to the police when I finally saw him at school. One lo

-NINA- A few days after going to AMR group headquarters, I still couldn't forget about Chris. It didn't help that I left his office in a hurry, without underwear, with a tingling sensation in my core that lasted for hours. Once again, I was sucked up in that whirlwind of lust. The attraction was too strong for me to go against it. I know it was wrong, and I shouldn't have done it, but I don't regret it. By sleeping with him, I was able to get it out of my system and finally move on. As I told him, it was just s.ex, nothing more. But God, it was so good. Actually, it was spectacular. He knew my body better than myself, giving me exactly what I wanted, the way I needed. Our bodies connect like magnets. I squeezed my eyes shut, shaking my head in an attempt to brush away the images flooding my brain. The only way to keep my mind far away was to bury myself in work. And that is precisely what I am doing. At the end of the week, there will be an online meeting to present

-CHRIS- "The numbers in the graph do not reflect last quarter's dividends. They show some profit when, in reality, there are some losses here in this other spreadsheet." Ben, my assistant, was trying to explain the discrepancies he found out in Hayworth Pipelines' book. After the last encounter I had with my uncle, I couldn't shake off a nagging feeling in my gut. He sounded far too desperate to have simply lost a contract. Sure, it was a huge deal, but the company has thousands of other revenues, and it shouldn't have impacted him so much as it did. For him to come out of his hole and threaten Nina, who has nothing to do with our business, it had to be something important. So I asked Ben to dig for some information and he found it. It was deeply hidden, but my sources managed to uncover the real numbers. My uncle had been embezzling company funds into his personal offshore account for years. It was easy for him to cover it up when profits were booming. But now, with the

*Warning: Explicit content -CHRIS- Nina was kissing me. This time, she slanted her lips against mine as if her life depended on it. From the moment she stepped into my office looking gorgeous in a tight knee-length light cream dress, I was struck by her beauty. Her long, wavy dark hair cascaded over her shoulders, her big forest green eyes shone with a burning fury, and I wanted nothing more than to take her in my arms. But I restrained myself. Every time we've met recently, I've been the one to initiate the physical touch. This time, I had to be sure that this was what she wanted. And right now, it seemed, she desired it deeply. This kiss was nothing like the one we shared on the rooftop. That kiss was soft, tender, a glimpse into our memories. We were exploring each other, reconnecting to old perceptions. This one was the opposite. It was a blast of sensations, a whirlwind of passion and heat. My palms slipped from her waist to the curve of her
