*Flashback to the night of the burial*

Noah's POV

I don’t like the idea, not one bit. I feel Liam's gaze on me probing me for a response. I turn around and face the witch who brought about the ridiculous idea.

“If I were to say yes, what would be the plan?” I ask her with a hard look.

“Alpha, I will cast a location spell on her and you will find her and bring her here, she will be trained extensively on how to use her powers and will also be well protected.” The Witch says with a pleading look.

I stare at her wordlessly waiting for her to continue as I know there is no way she can carry the spell out because she isn’t at full strength and she has failed several previous attempts which she doesn’t know I knew about.

“Please Alpha, I have found a way of locating her, I have saved enough energy up till today just for this purpose, I believe I can pull it off.” She continues, urging me to accept.

Knowing the fact that it is impossible for any witch, no matter how strong she is to cast a location spell on a vampire without getting drained of her powers, talk more of a hybrid whom my mate is prophesied to be, I know she is lying and has some diabolical plan to carry it out. Knowing her, if I turn her down, she would do it by herself and I don't ever plan on letting her power-hungry hands near my mate.

The only way to avoid any harm from befalling her is to go find her myself and then safely hide her from the knowledge of any supernatural until she is ready to get involved.

“ Start casting” I, say as I turn my back to her again.

I hear a lot of shuffling and whispering as she begins to prepare things for the spell. I stare out the window to find out that it is raining heavily. I sigh and patiently wait for her to finish.

After a while, I hear the witch start the location spell, as usual, I feel the air grow thicker and tense as she focuses extreme power on the target. After a series of chanting spells, I hear a thud and turn only to find out that she has slumped and is losing her life.

I scoff at her foolishness and I'm about to walk out when I hear her whisper.

"Luna! She is at Butte Bergeyre.” She is about to say something else but unfortunately, she is too much of a weakling and doesn't stay alive to complete her purpose.

“Perfect!!” I say, annoyed that I thought she could be useful just for once in her miserable life.

“ Celine’s, the old witch priestess's burial is today, it's in the same village, she might likely be there. Here is the address.” Liam says all at once as he immediately texts the address to my phone.

Being my second in command, he knows better than anyone how to handle my mood and soothe my countenance, not only that but also knows when to pin me down. Being a mage vampire, the strongest of all vampire clans, he is the only one who can take a cheap shot at me at my loose moment which I seldom have.

I stare down at the address and walk past him, not acknowledging him for a single second as the corpse on the floor was annoying me more and more by the second.

I head to the car and telepathically tell the driver the address. Being a werewolf, telepathy between fellow kind is preferred over actual speech.

“ Fast!” I say to him as I get into the car.

He hurriedly gets in, no questions asked just as I like it, and drives at full speed.

During the ride, I think of every possible scenario I and my mate could meet. I'm not sure if I would like her but the mating bond would cover up that part, I'm not sure if will eventually love her, but her personality will be its determinant and I'm not sure if I'm even ready for a mate yet but my responsibility and duty to my people is my driving force right now. She is the key to the restoration of our land according to the prophecy, that's why I'm determined to ensure that she is safe at all costs.

With this thought in mind, I set my extreme focus on the road ahead of me and hear the sound of music coming from the opposite direction a mile away. From what I'm hearing, two girls are in the car singing along loudly to the music playing.

I am about to inform my driver about the car coming towards us at a high speed and that he should carefully dodge the car as the two girls don’t seem to be paying attention to the road but I get so entranced by one of the girl's voice that I forget about informing the driver of the possible threat or the unwanted delay to our actual mission until I hear the voice shout.

“ Reina!! Look out.”

Our cars collide before Oliver, my driver could do anything about it, I knew because of the rain he couldn't see or hear as clearly as he was supposed to, werewolves are not water-friendly so I didn't expect him to, just as I didn't expect two humans to be driving at this time of the night under such weather condition and one having a voice that could distract me.

I immediately get down from the car and move to their car to check if they are alright. I notice her friend is unconscious as she hurriedly unwinds her glass window saying her friend is not fine with panic in her voice.

"What about you?” I ask staring at her, she doesn't look physically harmed, I don't smell any blood but I have to be sure that she is okay.

She turns to face me and I am immediately captivated by the little human. She looks extremely beautiful, from her tempting pale lips to her deep green eyes which seemed to be drawing me in, to her messy golden hair which seemed like it had been purposely scattered to get my attention.

I stare deeply into her eyes just as she does, totally forgetting about the heavy downpour, having the urge to push the few strands of hair from her face.

Oliver's voice brings me out of the daze as he informs her that their car is fit to drive.

I stand straight and watch as she hurriedly gets down and attempts to turn to the other side of the car when I pull her by her waist towards myself.

“ You didn't answer my question,” I say dropping my voice to a whisper close to her ears. She stands extremely still for a moment before I feel her little hands on mine pulling it from her waist.

Being too distracted by the warmth of her touch and surprised by the extreme cold that suddenly hit me as her body leaves mine, I barely hear her say that she is fine.

I stand and watch as she turns and gets into the car as she murmurs ‘Thank you.’ Turning to stare at me before she starts the engine and drives off.

I stand still under the rain which has started to subside and watch as she drives away, mentally storing her image in my mind.

After answering a call from Liam who told me that there was no need to move forward which I’m extremely grateful for, I get back into the car, instructing Oliver to head back.

Whilst in the car my mind wanders again to the deep enchanting set of green eyes I had just seen.

“Blonde.” I hear myself say as I sigh and question all my principles as I have not been attracted to any female for centuries now, at most, they were just means of sexual satisfaction.

But this little human found a way of pulling my attention and strings of affection towards her in just one brief meeting, especially on a night when I was supposed to find my mate.

“ Petit femme fatal.” ( little enchantress) I say with a smirk.

*End of Flashback*

NOAH'S POV

“You are that feisty redhead I met earlier right?” I ask, taking in her appearance.

I usually don’t get this close to new employees, minus the usual greetings but I couldn't seem to resist her once I saw those green eyes of hers, the same shade of green that couldn't leave my head for the past three years.

She looks nothing like the blonde I met that night but there is this familiarity I feel when I look at her that I can't shake.

“I…Ehmm… I…” I watch as she squirms in front of me, trying to think up a response. Surprisingly I find myself wanting to smirk at how cute she looks right now.

I push the urge aside and sever the handshake, which proved to be very difficult as every nerve in my body was screaming to hold her again and not just by a handshake this time.

I envision roaming my hands around her luscious curves and pulling her to myself…

I give myself a mental shake, appalled by the uncultured thought that just ran through my brain, I walk out on her without waiting for a response.

‘ What in hell is she doing to me?’ I ask myself as I leave the building.

This has to be a dream. “Hey Rei, I brought wine,” I get two loads of internal shock as I hear her words. Eyes greener than its previous dull look, hair golden blonde unlike its ruby red color, and skin having a soft unreal glow unlike its previous neutral appeal. The exact appearance of the floating figure I took a picture of. It can’t be right. It can’t be her. I thought those pics were thrash that I most likely took when I was drunk. The logic didn’t make sense but I put the main source of the pictures behind me. But here she stands, the perfect depiction of the outworldly image I captured on my phone. I had a bunch of reasons to dismiss those photos, one, Jasmine didn’t change her hair color back, two, Jasmine didn’t float, and three, Jasmine isn’t a magician. Besides, the background was appalling, everywhere was chaotic and there was no way such chaos could occur and not still be affecting the town. “Come in bitch, I missed you, you have a lot of explaining to do.” You

Nothing is happening to me and it’s been two days since the power surge,” I insist, urging him to understand how important it is that I do this.“Jasmine, can’t you wait a little while longer before going to see her?” he asks looking directly into my eyes and willing me to give in.“I’ve been away from Reina for months now and I haven’t reached out to her, besides text messages. I’m sure she is worried right now and is probably searching for me. We’ve never been apart for this long and it’s taking a toll on me, I miss her but I can’t even call her because I’m afraid that if I talk to her I might spill something about the supernatural existence and I don’t want her getting sucked into this. LIAM’S POVThe sound of the car tires rolling against the graveled path can be heard as complete silence fills the car.Reina sits facing the window looking as though she's deep in thought and my mind wanders to the events of the past few hours.I’m still in disbelief at everything that occurred and the extent to which it affected the human realm. No one expected to see an army of undead soldiers as Sharian had called them, matching through the living realm seeking to claim souls for the underworld. To think that we believed our greatest threat which isn’t much of a threat anymore were the Darhk's who were strictly in charge of causing chaos in the supernatural realm. Our angle of training now supersedes battles against the living but also includes dead souls as our foes.Taking from the entire battle, one would think that supernaturals would be crestfallen and afraid of the new development, but it’s rather the opposite. Due to the Luna’s second power surge, each supernatural h
