CHAPTER SIX

NOAH’S POV.

For decades, I’ve found myself getting less attracted to women with each passing day, up until I met the blonde in the rain and recently, my red-haired employee. Surprisingly, both have the same color of eyes, deep green, with an out worldly glow in them, one could stare and get enchanted by it seems to be drawing me into them.

The last time I let myself get distracted from my goal, terrible, bloody things happened to the people I cared about and I was not about to repeat the same mistake. Removing my focus from finding my mate and focusing on the root of such a trickle of attraction would be stupid and I pride myself on being someone who prioritizes important things and doesn’t get distracted.

I walk over to the car and instruct the driver on the location of the place the meeting is to be held, and I’m about to get in when I hear footsteps running towards me.

“Sir! ehm Mr. Noah, I'm sorry for my lack of coordination and my uncultured manners… towards both you and your driver, and sincerely promise it will not happen again.” She says looking at both me and my driver with short breaths, panting as if she just ran three hundred miles, meanwhile, the receptionist's desk is just in front of the entrance.

I stare at her unimpressed by not just her lack of ethical behavior but I also wonder if she is medically and physically fit, judging by the way she was breathing a while ago from running that extremely short distance, I highly doubt it. I give her a once over again and mentally shake my head while glaring at her outwardly.

Finally observing that I wasn't going to reply to her she coughs nervously and continues,

“ Sir, Mr. Noah, you forgot this document behind, considering the fact that you are going to a meeting I think it's pretty careless to leave this document behind.” She says without taking a breath.

I stare at her and wonder how her mind works, for someone who didn’t have a good first impression, she should be treading on soft grounds but rather she just upped and called me careless.

The fact that I am not even slightly annoyed by what she just did infuriates me.

“It's obvious that I'm in desperate need of an assistant and it seems that you don't mind filling that shoes so as of now your employment status has changed automatically,” I say sternly as a matter of fact and grab the file from her hands, not minding the shocked expression on her face.

“ Sir… Mr. Noah, what.. do... you... mean?”

“ Tell Mrs. Greenwood to send out a notice of an employment opportunity to fill in your current position and then she will instruct you on what to do in your new position,” I say ignoring her question.

“Oh and Chipmunk, you are to address me as Mr. Noah, not Sir or any other title,” I say and immediately get into the car, closing the door in her still-shocked state and telling the driver to drive.

Loving the look on her face and how good it felt to call her a chipmunk, I smirk and lean back enjoying the ride and basking in the feeling. Looking ahead I find my driver also giving me a surprised look probably because of the smirk on my face, he immediately looks away as he catches my eyes.

I sigh and adjust my expression, that girl just had this way of interesting and annoying me, and at the same time enticing me enough to lose focus. The sound of her voice is like light strumming meant purposely to arouse desires and her luscious curves don't help matters either, though she looks modest, I know with just the right amount of influence and motivation she could cause confusion in a holy sanctuary just by walking through. With the right push, she could put committed fathers to shame. If she clearly has the power to leave me thinking about her for more than three minutes which never happens for any other woman, she is clearly trouble to this fragile human world.

I sigh and set my head straight as I walk into the building where the meeting is to be held, over the decades I've made my name one to be respected and feared in the high societal strata, worldwide.

I built Trojan Company from the scratch, learning the way of humans, it was very easy to maneuver my way to making it one of the best exporting firms. Quickly learning that one of the most striving emotions in the human world is their greed for material things, everyone is looking for who to betray next, who to kill next and who to befriend next to get what they want. I simply sought out and plundered mercilessly my way to the top earning me the title of the most vicious CEO much to my amusement as compared to what I'm capable of doing, what I did to get to where I am doesn't hold a candle.

Being a Tribrid alpha, a vampire, a werewolf, and a wizard, the strongest amongst all living supernaturals, even at half strength, I can get absolutely everything I want and cause tremendous damage in the human world, but I choose not to because rather than getting punished again by the gods I will rather keep the peace and my subjects in check.

Every day is just as cliché as the last, so unlike Amaeldria, the home for all supernaturals, where no human can step into, totally unknown to their kind.

For nearly a decade, it has been sealed off from all supernatural as punishment as a result of the war that ensued within it, which I hold myself responsible for.

To say I miss my world will be an understatement, the feeling of nostalgia doesn’t escape me, and the guilt of putting my subjects through the punishment of living amongst the humans, away from their elements of survival, having to survive for over a decade as half breeds at half strength in the human world.

I sit through the entire meeting pitching in ideas rarely and am bored out of my mind, I always get exactly what I want at the end of every business meeting so sitting through it has become a bore.

After the meeting, I get back into the car and head towards my mansion, minus the daily human business, I still have to keep the supernatural beings in check.

Even outside of Amaeldria, my duties as the supreme Alpha still stands, whilst looking for ways to find my mate to restore our home, I have to keep all kinds of supernatural being in order, Vampires from feeding off humans, werewolves from biting humans as a bite from one will effectively kill a human in less than a minute, witches and elves, to stay low key. Goblins and other weaker beings are made to stay completely out of sight because of the difference in their form and structure.

Noticing an incoming call, I bring out my phone from my pocket to find out that it is Mrs. Greenwood.

“Mr. Noah, I’m calling concerning Miss Denis.”

“Who?” I ask her having no idea who that is.

“ The new employee that started work today, she said you told her to inform me about her change in employment status?” She asks confused and then it clicks.

“ Yes she is my new personal assistant, all changes should be done accordingly. Where did you place her?” I ask wondering which section of the building her office is at, though I was quite serious about her new position, I have no intention of stringing her along with me as I definitely don't need an assistant.

“I placed her in an office white distanced from yours, as I was not sure of the validity of the instruction, but I can immediately make the changes.” She says apologetically.

“ No need Mrs. Greenwood, leave her be,” I say glad that she is credible and also sensible.

“ Okay, Mr. Noah.” She says as I end the call.

Little Chipmunk would be less of a distraction at a distance and there she could be effectively utilized, Carrying out all the analysis of the most dreadful part of being a CEO of a company, paper work. It's the perfect activity to keep her occupied and away from my space.

Heading to the mansion, I completely dispel her from my thoughts, this wasn't the time to be thinking about the chipmunk under my sleeves and besides, human and supernatural business don't mix.

As we arrive at our destination, I get down from the car and step into the mansion to meet total chaos.

Just as the door is closed behind me, a spear moving at full speed comes directly toward me.

“ Alpha watch out!!” Liam shouts as the spear passes just slightly above my head, nearly impaling me which it would have if I hadn't ducked slightly.
