The car stopped a little away from a building, Lucian stared at the house and Ava watched him, after a while, he fetched his briefcase from the backseat and opening it, he got out his guns, “stay here, I will be out soon.” He whispered and opened the door, he stepped out and right before he shut it, he turned to her, “stay. Here,” he repeated word for word before shutting the door.
Ava watched him through the windscreen making his way to the building, she looked behind and there was no one around, it was so dark that the only light was coming from the porch of the house. Ava could feel her heart beating so loudly in her chest and for the moment she wondered if she did the right thing by insisting to come with him, what if the police shows up now? What can she say? How can she defend herself? What even came over her? Why in the world would she agree to go killing with a killer?

Four days later, Ava snapped her eyes open at the sound of the thunder, her heart was beating loud in her chest, she has never been a friend of the thunder and the phobia had started when she was still five and her house was attacked by some men. Her mother had locked her up in the wine cellar with nothing to accompany her but the angry roar of the thunder beating loud around the house and deep in her chest as well as the sound of gunshots raining everywhere. Ever since that night, she never slept alone when it was raining because she always fear that the night would repeat itself.The lightening drew, sending flashes of light into her room and making her shut her eyes once more and when the thunder roared, she screamed along with it. Ava screamed immediately she had the sound and Lucian covered her mouth with his hand quickly, looking deep into her eyes as she was shaking violently. The car drove into a hotel and parked, Lucian turned to Ava, “we would stay here for the night, tomorrow I would think of where we can go,” she nodded and sighed and climbed out of the car. He opened the back door and brought out their bags and when Ava walked up to him, he handed her his debit card, “get us a room, I’m afraid, Ava but we have to stay together, the rain might have stopped but I need to keep an eye on you, understand?” She nodded once more and he heaved a breath before walking ahead first and her following.When they walked into the hotel, both the receptionist and the bellhop were fast asleep, looking around the place, Lucian knew they won’t be much security around there and which means he would need to be extra vigilant. By evening in the day, they were back in the car, driving to a place Ava has no idea of and have asked but Lucian had only replied with that they were going to Mexico and she wondered if they would be driving there. After a half an hour drive, they drove into a remote area with bushes around and another short five minutes drive, they arrived at a runway with a private jet not far from where they parked.
