The Red-eyed man.

Levi immediately regained his conposure, it happened so fast that you wouldn't believe just a second ago he was looking so lustful and vulnerable, and it kept on shocking the women sitting there. They weren't just shocked, they were mad. They felt downgraded and humiliated, by none other than that girl he referred to as his maid. She had just went in minutes ago, while they had been in there for hours, so how did she do it?

Is she human? How could she...

Levi ignored them, and just then Maya ran out of the room dashing for the elevator. She seems to know how to operate it now because she pressed the right button and it opened, then she jumped in and it closed back. Uncaring, he walked back into the hotel room and closed the door.

What is really happening to him? He hated it all. He had kissed her twice in one day, yearned for her twice...

Control, he needed control and a lot of distancing from her. And then when he gained control of himself, the real thing would start. But would it be considered distancing when he lived in the same house with her? Would she be waiting for him in the car?

He frowned.

Maya couldn't stay in the same place as that man anymore. He made her lose her mind whenever he came too close and touched her, and why does she always let him? She should scream out her lungs, but no, she finds herself melting to his touch and embrace. Sprinting out of the hotel, she ignored his car and ran straight to the road. She didn't know where she was going, but right now she can't stay anywhere close to him.

She just can't.

She would rather walk back to his house than take the same car as him, breath or share the same space as him. Her heart wouldn't stop pounding, and she needed to breath slowly, she needed to calm down. Looking around, she recognized the road the came through and then she started walking in that direction. Good thing she had been staring out the window during most of the ride, her memory was still fresh so she would be able to recognize some buildings and eventually find her way.

But she was still feeling awkward.

Sometimes she would find herself breaking into a run, and then she would suddenly stop. She didn't notice that the weather was changing again, and the wind was blowing more ferocious. By the time she looked up, it was already too late. The same rain clouds from the hospital this morning had gathered again, And everyone around were running into the homes or buildings nearby. Cars driving on the roads parked by, and the driver's would leave the car there.

Worse, she began to hear gunshots.

Fear gripped her and she quickly ran and his behind a building. But unfortunately, there was a horde of people running away from the direction of the shots, heading straight towards where she had hidden herself. This was bad, if she stayed here they might trample on her...

With her head down, she ran out of the place just before the people got there, and it seemed like the gunshots had gotten closer to where she was. The wind blew even more heavily, and because of her small stature it easily knocked her down. She inhaled a lot of it together with dust, and then the next second she was sitting on the floor coughing.

And the next, she was up again running to take cover from the shooting. There was a trailer parked by the roadside, and she quickly dived and hid behind it.

Droplets of water at first, but it rained heavily. It was almost like the last time, and she had a feeling if she Didn't find a shelter, the rain was gonna flood everywhere like last time and the trailer...

No way! It can't possibly lift the trailer up right?

Maya was scared out of her pants, as she heard screams and more gunshots. It was very loud in her ears, and she just knew that if she peaked even a bit she would see who was shooting. Her mind was in a turmoil, and she couldn't run anywhere again. She was stuck behind this trailer, and if the person shooting where to come closer, he would definitely see her.

Was this her last day on earth??

She was soaked wet from head to toe, and she didn't know what to do. The wind was stronger than her, and it was so cold she couldn't bear it. Moreover, the rain kept getting even more heavier, and the sky growled as if there was a war happening up there.

God, she hated storms.

She never knew the city had strong storms like this. Exhausted, and out of ideas, all she did was cover her ears with her hands before burying her head between her legs.

She could still hear the gunshots, the sound of the rain slapping the ground and her body, the thunder clouds and lightening, but at least it wasn't so loud as before.

Suddenly the shooting stopped. Slowly, Maya raised her head, straining her ears for anymore sounds when she heard it. Footsteps. There were footsteps coming from the side of the trailer, and Maya realized who it was.

It was the shooter, and he was coming from her.

With every step he took, she would crawl away as fast as she could, till she herself got to the other side of the trailer. Her body shook in fear and cold, and she felt as if her heart was gonna burst anytime from now. She was squatting at the other side now, when she gently peeked to see if he had gotten to where she was before.

And there he was, dressed in all black standing there with his gun pointed straight at her little peeking face.

She quickly moved back away, just as the bullet flew right in front of her face.

Oh my God! That was close

And then, she heard his foot steps, but it was way faster this time.

He was running!

She stood up too and sprinted, quickly diving to the other corner of the trailer before he shot her again. Now she regretted leaving that hotel room, she should have just stayed there and faced whatever was gonna happen again, but no she had to come out and face something far worse Instead. Her body was still weak, and running was hard for her.

She heard him running behind her, and that was when the worse thing happened to her. She slipped on the road and fell. Her head slammed on the floor, and pain seared through her entire being. Weak, wounded, and wet, she started crawling away...but she already knew it was too late.

The shooter had already caught up to her.

A kick on her belly had her rolling and groaning as she held herself. She was laying on her back looking up to the sky when the shooter came into view. He stood before her, and his eyes were just plain evil. He had a killers eyes, and his whole body was covered in black clothes.

"What do you want from me?" Maya managed to say

"I want you dead" he replied. His voice made her cringe.

"Why? What did I do to you?"

"You've seen my face, that's why you must die!"

"But when I didn't see it, you still tried to shoot me!" Now she was arguing.

"Hm, Because I've killed others!" He suddenly snapped " why am I even talking to you??"

And then he pointed the gun at her. His fingers moved on the trigger, and he was about to shoot.

She was gonna die. But she was still young, she didn't want to. She still needed time, time...to live. She didn't wanna die like this, and if she had to do something to save herself, she would have to do it now.

But what??

Suddenly, the shooter looked up at something, and then froze. The gun was still pointed down at her, but he had stopped moving at all. His face was completely masked in fear, and his legs trembled like he was catching a cold. His mouth chattered, and then he let go of the gun, and it fell right beside Maya's face.

Her eyes were still on the shooter, but she wanted to look away to see what he was looking at that was making him look so scared.

She had never seen anyone she scared like he was right now in her life.

It made her shiver too.

The man suddenly fell on his knees, and his forehead was on the floor as he begged with both hand clasped over his head. His body was trembling over and over again, and I was just rooted to my spot as I kept staring at him. Should I run? Should I just stay here and pretend dead? Something even more scarier is waiting for me if I get up...so I'll pretend dead.

I closed my eyes with my fingers crossed, hoping the next time I open my eyes, the night would be as clear as day and I would find myself lying on my bed at the mansion.

All this would have just been a big bad dream.

But I was stupid, and curious. I wanted to see it too, I wanted to know what was making him behave like this...No! I just had to. I turned my head in the direction with my eyes still closed, and slowly I opened it. There was a man standing about twenty feet from us. It was too dark to make out his features, but he just stood there unmoving.

And then lightening flashed in his direction, and I saw a part of his body. His hand...

He was holding something.

Another lightening flashed, and I saw what he was holding even more clearly...it was a head.

A person's head, and blood was spewing out of it.

When I looked further up, I was able to make out red eyes in the dark. Pure and evil looking red eyes.

And then, my mind went blank.

I couldn't feel any part of my body anymore, although I heard someone scream beside me and then something sprayed on my face. It was hot, but the wind and rain easily washed it away...

The red eyes were still looking at the man, but then it shifted and locked eyes with me.  I expected fear to engulf me, but it didn't. Not even one bit.

Instead, something else happened.

I felt...safe. Safe, when I was staring at a man who was holding a head. Safe, when I was staring at a man who had red eyes, and seemed to dominate the entire space with his aura.

An aura that felt all too familiar with me. But the man I knew who had a similar presence didn't have red eyes, and I left him at the hotel about thirty minutes ago.

He couldn't have come to save me

Even if he did, he wouldn't have made it on time this fast, under this heavy rainfall and wind.

No one could drive under this weather, it was impossible.

He didn't move from his position, and even though thunder and lightening kept flashing, his face wasn't revealed to me. Finally, I felt my legs again, and then I stood up. I was shaky, but I could stand without falling down.

The rain was slowly reducing, and the wind blew less but the red-eyed man didn't move. We kept staring at each other, and...and...and...do I know him?

Then it hit me.

What about the shooter? Oh no! What if he's about to shoot me now? What if...

I slowly turned my head to his direction, but just as I was about to look at him, someone's hands came out of nowhere, and covered my eyes. I sucked in a deep breath as his manly and rich scent invaded my senses, and that aura pulled me in.

He turned me around, and I faced him.

Boss...Levi.

"I've warned you haven't I? This should be the last time Maya Harts, or next time you'll regret it!" His voice sounded strange, but I only nodded.

And then the next minute, he swopped down and picked me up again, like a sack of potatoes.
