Chapter 9: Shadows of Betrayal

A hundred and one thoughts ran through his mind. There was no telling what would happen if anyone was to come into his room now. Quickly,he dashed to his door and making sure that he had locked it properly,he returned to the dead body on the floor.

Felix definitely did not die that night. His skin had turned dark with his tissues shrunk as it was so evident by how his face looked. The odour that emanated from his body was so bad that the chief guard placed his palms firmly over his nose. He was still caught up in the web of fear that had made him unable to move. Beads of sweat were beginning to run down his face.

He had wanted Felix dead but going by the turn out of event,he did not know if it was something he wanted to happen.

One thing was for sure, someone else wanted him dead and the person had succeeded but what he could not understand was why the person had placed the corpse on the floor of his room.
