Lucas's pov:

HH was a hotel with five stars ratings due to its efficiency in handling top confidential clients.

I parked my car at the personal parking lot. As the owner of the hotel, I had several privileges. The guards led us to the VIP room, where I’d meet Kelvin.

Kelvin was seated on the couch at the corner of the room, sipping champagne. My eyes roamed around the room and I sighted a guard on stand as well.

He stood up as soon as he saw me and we shook hands.

"I can't thank you enough for your help," he started, smiling heartily.

"Friends are better than brothers uh?" I joked.

He smiled but didn't say a word, instead he poured me a glass.

"You and your brother need to put an end to these absurd fights. You both are just creating an imbalance in the Mafia society." I continued sternly, legs crossed as I accepted the drink he offered me.

"It's not my fault. Mark is unbelievable, he won't just stop annoying me." He complained, his countenance signifying abhorrence and enmi

Kiara's pov: After having a douche, I sat in front of the mirror dressing my face. With the comb, I dressed my messy hair, letting the soft strands fall over my shoulder. I looked beautiful and I was beginning to like the ginger wig. In a way, it constantly reminded me of the reason why I was here. I dressed my contact lenses as well, before finally putting on my glasses. Grabbing my phone on the cupboard, I ambled towards the kitchen. Florida and Cleo were playing cards. My stomach rumbled on sensing the kitchen atmosphere. I took some slices of bread on a plate and a lemonade as well inside the refrigerator. "What's up guys?" I asked, strolling forward to them while munching my bread. "Just playing cards, wanna join?" Florida asked, her mind concentrated on the game. "How's it played?" I asked, taking a seat as I dropped the juice on the desk. "Have you been locked up your whole life or something? Who doesn't know how to play cards?" Cleo asked rudely, her voice exuding rid

Lucas's pov:The next day, my schedule was free so I was going to meet up with Kelvin and his step brother. These unremitting wars had to be abrogated.Inside the shower room, I took a quick bath. With a towel tied to my waist, I walked out, desiccating my moist hair with a piece of woolen towel. On stepping out, I ceased my steps as my eyes rested on her figure. She was still here, bringing out the clothes I asked her to wash from the wardrobe.I observed her, she was wearing a mini skirt, probably the one I bought her. I noticed she was always wearing baggies to conceal her sexy shape."Why are you still here?" I asked, taking a seat on the bed, the towel resting on my hair."I figured as your maid I have to get your clothes ready," she replied, looking at me intensely.Has she finally accepted the fact that she belonged to me? Probably."You don't have to." I countered, walking over to the wardrobe where she stood."Here, I selected these," She impulsively shoved a white and blue s

Kiara's pov:Eric was exultant to hear the news. I gave him details of everything I espied and what I think was the reason why he made such a surplus supply. He was like a hungry dog eager to eat bones which are the news I fed him. He didn't care or ask how I was coping with these whole new scenarios or how much it affects my sanity. My options never mattered then and it still doesn't.I dropped the telephone, with a sigh, disappointment laying bricks in me. I lurched when I noticed Lucas approaching me.No, not him again!!!His calamitous eyes rested on mine, perforating holes inside me. Holes repleting skepticism and hatred.I gulped, the tension in me escalating beyond restraint. His impenetrable eyes and inscrutable countenance give little away but I sure knew what would happen next wouldn't be nice."I was just making an urgent call," I explained, without waiting for him to ask. I knew he must have seen me, so lying would only increase his curiosity. He stepped closer to me, tr

Kiara's pov:"What are you? a friend or foe?" The unfamiliar voice repeated, this time the gruffness of his voice doubled. My heart dropped inside my stomach. I felt my breath cease at once as my soul dissipated. I knew I was guilty but was this going to be it?The moment I finally die?Maybe?"I–" I coughed and spluttered, tears coursing down my face."Be reasonable with your answer because both have consequences," He warned, shoving the pistol inside my hair. What does he mean by that? That meant either way I was already trapped."I…I'm a slave," I replied instead, closing my eyes and praying silently that he doesn't pull the trigger."And What's a slave doing here?" He asked.I tried to turn but he fixed the gun firmly on my head. "One shot and you die. Don't try anything funny, raise your hands,"I lifted my hands slowly above my head with trepidation, literally angst. No…I can't die this way.The adrenaline surging through me whispered two words - fight or flight? In my small hea

Kiara's pov:It's been 216 hours since I got here, 9 days since I last contacted Eric and four days since the fainting incident. Yet, no news. There isn't anything strange or beyond the ordinary that I had to report.Everything was going smoothly so far except the part that involves my correlation with Master Lucas Hayes. He grows more haughty and malevolent with each passing day. Always finding fault with everything I do, his harsh criticisms pealing in my ears as my broken heart continues to shatter - tripling my hatred and disgust for him.If anyone was to be blamed for my fainting scenerio, it had to be him. It's clearly his fault because I worked my bones to the core because of his high and rapacious demands.Yesterday, he returned early out of the blue and demanded his lunch be served without delay. Since I had no idea he would be returning earlier than his usuals, I wasn't prepared.I ran helter-skelter about the kitchen, trying to figure out what I should prepare before he b

Kiara's pov:Echoes of gunshots and grenades engulfed the air….Their shrill cries advanced with the choking air, unfurling chaos inside her tiny head and painfully attacking the little girl's sanity.A little girl sat helplessly on the floor, scared as she was being traumatized by the piles of human cadavers lying scattered around, amidst the fire explosion. As the environment got deeply engulfed with hot flames, so did the innocent wails increase, singing a hopeless song. She was just there, her little eyes witnessing the ugly situation. Her eyes were blinded with hot tears, just as her heart shattered into several pieces. No one seemed to have noticed her, for they all seeked solace and their own safety, abandoning the little girl at the mercy of the flames."Mom!!! dad!!!..." She wailed, sobbing.Like a miracle, an elderly man appeared in front of her, his clothes covered in blood from the shootings and war."Don't worry child, mama and papa are in a nice place," he spoke softly,

Kiara's pov:With a heavy heart, I left his room and flounced down the stairs imprecating curses on the day our lives tangled. At the kitchen I resumed my cooking tutorials, with Mama Brown handling the class. I stood beside her, carefully observing every detail she practiced.I wasn't just doing this to impress Lucas, in a way it was for my own good as well. I'd love to garnish my own meals myself as well. "Once the water is boiled, we add the per boiled rice. Check the rice at intervals and ensure it doesn't get burnt. Lucas loathes burnt meals," She warned strictly, adjusting the knobs to control the flames from the cooker.I nodded."Here, select the ingredients for tomato stew." Mama Brown passed a bowl of ingredients towards me.I collected the bowl. Taking a seat, I picked the ingredients and separated them. She had taught me the ingredients to use and I learnt that pretty fast. After selecting the spices to be used, I passed the bowl back to her and helped with chopping the v

Kiara's pov:Just as she was about to step her in, I trapped her foot with the door."Ouch!" She flinched."I'm so sorry, just give me a minute. Step back a little," I apologized, adjusting the door for her to remove her leg. I rested my head on the door, so she wasn't able to see me clearly. She grumbled and pulled her leg out. I shut the door immediately, running over to the bed to get my wig. It wasn't there. It wasn't anywhere."shit! Where are you? come out wigg...I need you…." I murmured needly, my eyes scanning the entire room like a weapon detector. Except I wasn't looking for a weapon but a fucking postiche.Frankly speaking, if I was the wig, I would rather not come out. After all, she had hurled me infuriatingly at the wall last night. After some minutes, I sighted a little ginger colored hair behind the blue silk curtains. Smiling, I picked it up, dusting it carefully as I sauntered towards the framed reflecting surface, forgetting someone was waiting in front of the door
