CHAPTER FORTY SIX

Melina PoV

Ramona and I already spent the entire night coming up with a plan.

In the end, we decided that I had two missions. Gather more information on the attack on the shrine in order to figure out who was behind it, and to find a way to end the war once and for all.

“The only way to end the war is through the prophecy,” Ramona said as she handed me an old, moldy scroll.

“What’s this?”

It contains the prophecy, but only the prophetic child can open it. That’s how you’ll know it’s the real deal.

“This prophecy was made, like what, a hundred years ago?”

“A hundred and fifty years actually,” she chuckled.

“Are you kidding me? How do we know if this prophetic child is indeed a child, or if she’s alive, or if she’s dead? How do we know anything?”
