Chapter 61

Ava's POV

The room fell silent for a while and when my mother's memory came rushing once more, I couldn't help but feel my eyes watered.

But, Dylan's presence made me dismiss any thoughts of crying. Instead, I couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions swirling inside me. His words of comfort and reassurance had touched my heart, and I felt a sense of gratitude towards him. But there was something more, something that I couldn't quite explain.

And the only logical answer didn't even feel appealing to my brain.

I ignored my thoughts as his hand brushed against mine. And then, I felt a spark of electricity jolt through my body. It was a strange, tingling sensation that I had never experienced before. Not even with Jake.

I looked up at Dylan, my eyes meeting his. He was gazing at me with a soft, gentle expression, his eyes filled with warmth and compassion. I felt my heart skip a beat as our eyes locked, and I knew that I was in trouble.
