Once I’m showered and ready for bed, I pick up the landline in my room (old school I know but I love it). I dial Addy because her number  is the only one I know off by heart. It doesn't even ring before she picks up. 

"Hello" Her honey voice says down the phone. 

"Hey Addy. It's Danika." I say nervously. 

"Danika?! Oh thank god. We were so worried about you! Where are you? Are you in trouble." She sounds both relieved and anxious. 

"I'm fine Adds. I'm at my Uncles Don and Andreas house. I'm gonna be staying her for a while. Just while my dads away." I lean against the wall while I talk to her. 

"Oh." She says disappointed. "Well Hadley's back and he wants to see you. He asked me all about you. Are you free tomorrow afternoon? Maybe you guys can have lunch before he comes back to school on Monday?"
