CHAPTER 58

When Jacob argued with Stefan about me, I wanted to just disappear but Stefan beat me to it. He exited from the dining room and never looked back. “You shouldn’t offended your brother, Jacob,” I reminded him that causing a misunderstanding with his brother wouldn’t benefit him.

“He dared to belittle you, sweetheart,” he reasoned out.

He looked worried or bothered about something but I couldn’t ask him directly about it. The last thing I would do was to provoke him. So, I just observed him while we started having our meal. He didn't say much while we were eating our first breakfast together in Clayland.

I wondered if he was enraged at me because he spent most of the time staring at his food. I was tempted to confront him right then and there, but I held off because I was worried it would spoil our meal.
