Cataleya
“Seth,” I moan, fisting his shirt. He grabs onto my bare thigh that's wrapped around him, sucking on my neck while he pushes in one more finger inside me, curling them. My eyes roll back in their sockets. “That's it, baby.” He murmurs into my neck. I arch into him, whimpering as my abdomen clenches. “You love that, huh?” “Oh, God,” I pant. “Yes!” my loud moans echo through the spacious bathroom. “Damnit, you feel so good, baby.” He presses his tall, muscular frame against me, stroking my clit and pumping his fingers in and out of me faster. My eyes grow watery because of how good his fingers feel inside me, the dirty moans unfurling from my mouth growing higher in pitch as I approach my release. “Fuck,” I choke out a sob. “I'm going to come.” I rush the words out, my toes curling against the surface of my heels. “Come for me, love.” He groans out in an order and I come undone on his fingers with a long, hoarse cry. I breathe out harshly, my head falling back to rest against the wall behind me. His gruff, firm hand is still grabbing onto my thigh that's wrapped around me, his muffled ragged breath sounding like music to my ears. He slowly withdraws his fingers inside me and tilts his head full of thick, tousled blonde hair backwards, keeping his eyes fixed on me as he shoves his fingers into his mouth, sucking me off him. My cheeks darken furiously and I bite my lower lip. “You taste so good.” He professes huskily, his smokey green eyes resting on my face like he's trying to memorise every inch of my features because he won't get a chance to do it anymore. My heart twists and I lean in to press my lips against his, tasting myself on his lips mixed with his overly addictive taste. “I love you, Seth.” I whisper softly. “I love you, Cathy.” He murmurs. “I hate this.” My voice quivers. “I hate that I can't be with you.” My eyes rapidly get filled with angry tears. “Hey,” he cups my face tenderly, “I don't like it any more than you do. It hurts to be away from you and have to meet up in the shadows like this. I want to be with you too but this is how it has to be.” His voice is thick with pain but he tries to cover it up with a smile. I hate that I'm bound to a horrible fate I can't escape from. I hate that the Moon Goddess has condemned me to a fate so harsh and cruel and the only escape in the crazy world I live in is Seth, the son of my father's Beta. Seth's the only reason I'm still keeping it together. “I don't know. Maybe we should run away together.” I dumbly suggest even though I know that I won't get anywhere past the main living room of the Pack house before my father's men grab me. He laughs. “You know we can't do that. Conan Farrow will find us before we can even think of getting past the pack borders. Your father's no ordinary man.” He smiles—a hollow smile—caressing my cheek fondly like I'm the most beautiful thing in the world. The thought of a girl's father should fill her with a sense of pride and safety but mine fills me with dread and apprehension, causing a shudder to snake down my spine. “We should get back to the party. We don't want them knowing we are gone.” He suggests, reluctantly letting my leg out of his grip. I immediately feel empty but I nod my head. “Yes, you are right.” An immense sense of discomfort washes over him, his eyes flashing with a mix of hurt and sadness but he slowly presses a kiss to my forehead. I cling to him, breathing in his scent greedily because I know I'm not going to have him around for a while. “I love you.” He doesn't wait for me to say it to him before he spins around and strides out of the bathroom. As the door slams shut behind him, my heart drops to the pit of my stomach, a shaky breath eluding me. I stagger backwards as tears well up in my eyes and unable to control myself, I let out a frustrated scream. My tears are brimming in my eyes but I can't let them out because it'd smear my makeup. My father will have my head if I dare embarrass him before the prominent Alphas out there by showing up with a flawed makeup. That's how many tabs he keeps on me. That's how obsessed he is with me being the perfect face of the Farrow family. I suck in a breath, strutting shakily to the mirror to gather my nerves. I don't even recognise the girl in the mirror. I don't think I ever knew who I really was. My hair is tucked in a low, conservative bun—something befitting a woman of class, like my father would say. My makeup is lightly done with my lips glossed to perfection because my father believes that bold makeup is for whores. The black evening dress I'm wearing elegantly outlines my curves—nothing slutty. I'm Cataleya Farrow and I can't be caught dead soiling the family’s reputation with my actions even if I just came on my boyfriend's fingers like a dirty little slut. But, it's my beautiful little secret and no one, no one can know about it. I'm suddenly disgusted by my reflection but I mask it with my signature meek smile, grabbing my clutch and striding out of the room with my spine straightened and my head held up high. The waltz in the background and the excited chattering of the distinguished guests draw nearer as I approach the ballroom. I don't bother looking for Seth as I step into the grandeur ballroom, grabbing a glass of champagne from one of the numerous waiters strutting around. My gaze slowly moves around until it lands on a pair of dark blue eyes watching me across the room. I stop breathing, stiffening as my stomach churn with nerves. His stare is vacant but I can feel the threat in it because it makes the hair on my nape stand erect. I don't need to be told twice before approaching him with the same elegance and poise that has been carved and beaten into me since I was a little girl. “Where did you go?” His question hits me like a whiplash across the face but I hold his gaze, just like he expects me to whenever he is talking to me. “I was in the restroom.” I lie smoothly without batting an eyelid. He narrows his eyes on me like he's trying to wrench out whatever secrets I'm hiding from him and my heart beats erratically as he does so. “You better not embarrass me.” He says coldly, his voice thick with an underlying threat of a thousand ways to make my life a living hell. “Yes, Father.” I answer meekly, putting on a smile. He doesn't look away from me. He subjects me to a scrutiny that makes goosebumps sprout on my skin. He inspects me like he's looking for a single hair out of place and then, his eyes lingers on my hand, resting on his insurance. The large rock—a perfect representation of bondage and impending doom—sitting pretty on my ring finger. He wants to double check if I'm still wearing it when he knows that I have never dared to take it off since the night of my engagement party six months ago. His eyes leave mine for a moment and I release a breath I don't know I'm holding. “Your fiancé is here.” He announces and my gut clenches. “Cataleya,” I hear the familiar deep masculine voice come up behind me. A deep, throaty laughter that's obviously fake by the sound of it elicits my father and he walks past me to go meet the bastard behind me. I don't turn around but I can hear them pulling each other for a hug and slapping their backs excitedly. “Good evening, Zane.” My father greets him, sounding elated to have him around. “Mind if I borrow my wife for a moment?” “She's all yours.” Like hell I am. My father's footsteps recede and I take in a deep breath, turning around to face the tall lean dickhead draped in a black tuxedo that clings to his ripped frame like sin. Zane Van Doren might be a first class asshole but he looks good in anything he wears. I hate him. But, I can admit that. “Zane,” I mutter, displeased. “Hey, beautiful.” He grins—that cocky, signature grin. “Can I have this dance?” I try not to scoff in his face but I nod, slipping my hand into his and allowing him to lead me to the dance floor. I place my arm on his shoulder and he grabs onto me by the waist like he's been dying to do it, feeling me up while at it. I chew on my inner cheek, tempted to yell in his face to get his hands off me, but I know I can't. My father makes sure that I'm always on my best behaviour with him. After all, he's expected to be my husband in two weeks time. He sways me softly to the music, his green eyes boring into mine, gleaming with satisfaction—the thrill of knowing that he has me right where he wants me. He spins me around and grabs onto my waist again, pulling me into him. “You don't look like you are happy to see me.” He states matter-of-factly, mockery lacing his voice. “Do you want me to lie to you?” I fake a smile at him, my eyes catching Seth's blue ones in the crowd. It stabs me in the guts but I look away from him. “I can, if you want me to.” “That's no way to speak to your husband.” He grins. “Fiancé,” I corrected him firmly. “Whatever floats your boat, baby girl.” He smiles, a cold, sinister smile that makes me shudder. “It doesn't change the fact that you are mine. You are wearing my ring on that beautiful finger of yours. In two weeks, you'll be carrying my last name, become the Luna of my Pack and I'll do whatever I want with you.” His palm glides up and down my back suggestively. I grit my teeth. “Like hell you will.” His eyes flash with annoyance. “Don't talk back to me, Cataleya. You are my wife. You'll listen when I tell you to.” He says through his teeth. “I'm not yet married to you, Zane. So, as far as I'm concerned I'm just your fiancée. Not your wife. And if you think I'm letting you get your hands on me. You must really not know me.” I retort sharply. He stares at me, and then, slowly, a cocky smirk lifts at the corner of his mouth. “I can't wait to see the look on your face when you find out how wrong you are.” I shudder, swallowing swiftly. I feel like a fucking prize to be won. This bastard thinks he's entitled to what should be mine to give—what belongs to Seth. For fucks sake, father has me subjected to those horrible monthly virginity tests just to make sure I'm keeping myself for this asshole who doesn't deserve me. “So, why don't you be a good girl for me, beautiful? We don't want daddy dearest knowing how much of a brat you are right now, do we?” He leans in, whispering into my ear and I gulp audibly. Father will kill me if he knows I have been talking back to Zane. “I'm sorry.” I croak, sounding so defeated. “Good girl.” He smiles triumphantly when he meets my gaze again. I want to claw his face so badly but I'm powerless and I hate it. Before he can say anything else, the doors to the ballroom swing open loudly, and a collective gasp echo through the room. “You all wouldn't mind me crashing the party, would you?”Malakai “What do you mean by Cataleya is missing?” I flicked the lighter open and close.Conan looks away from the top to bottom window of my space above one of my clubs. His eyes flicker with impatience but he quickly hides it, not wanting me to sense how desperate he is.For someone whose daughter is missing, he seems oddly calm.“She was taken, Malakai.” He seethes.I barely move from my seat. “How are you so sure she didn’t run away from the Pack?”“Cataleya is not stupid enough to risk the family’s reputation because she craves freedom.”The uptight Princess does seem like she has secrets of her own. I remember the fire and hate in her eyes when I danced with her that night. It intrigued me. Too bad, I’d have to snuff it out for my plan to work.“I told her about her marriage to you.” He reveals.I smirk. “All the more reason for her to have gone into hiding, so that she wouldn’t marry the big bad Lycan.”“She didn’t run.”I cocked my head to the side, amused by his insistence.
CataleyaA soft whimper eludes from me as my eyes slowly fluttered open. The side of my head throbs with a dull ache, but the more conscious I get, the harder the pain hits.My fingers curl around the side of my head, and I gasp seeing the blood that smears them.I try to remember what happened or how I got injured but nothing comes to mind.Something is not right. Ember whimpers. I’m a little stunned because she has been so quiet these days. Ember and I have a strained relationship. She barely communicates with me, majorly because of her grudge against the man I chose as my mate.Seth.The thought of his name provokes me to reality. My breath hitches as the memories flood my mind. I couldn’t reach Seth. I snuck away from the Pack to see him at the Cabin, only to find him with Alison. A low sob punches its way through my mouth as the weight of his betrayal descends on him.I was such a fool.I loved him with all my heart, but the whole time he had been stabbing me in the back by sleep
CataleyaI gaze into the distance, watching the Farrow property that spreads beyond the compound. My mind drifts to Seth. I haven’t seen him since the night of the party, and I can’t exactly go up to Beta Hanson to ask him the whereabouts of his son.It will trigger suspicion. My eyes flicker from the window where I’m sitting when the door to my room opens. It reveals one of the maids with a steaming cup of tea that I’m now achingly familiar with.“Good evening, Heiress.” She mumbles stiffly, approaching me. “The Luna says I must see to it that you take your tea for the night.”I hate the herbs that are often brewed together and brought to me every night.Mother says it aids to wash out my womb, and prep it for swift conceiving. An old recipe of her late Mother, it seems.“I don’t want it.” I mumble dryly.“But—“My harsh stare cuts her off, then my eyes slowly devours her appearance. She’s wearing a hideous black dress, her dark hair neatly tucked in a plain cap. I can see her, but s
Cataleya“You are not wearing your ring.” Zane frowns, ignoring the comment my father just made.My heart skips. “I…uh—““Is this how you parade my wife in front of other men without letting them know she’s taken?” Zane asks icily.“That’s not true,” I chip in quickly.“Do not interrupt me, love.” He counters me condescendingly without sparing me a glance. My mother looks nervous but she maintains the signature good wife smile on her face. “I’m sure everyone knows she’s engaged to you by now, Zane.”“I’m sorry,” I rush the words out. This is a dinner from hell. I have barely had any meal yet I feel so full from the contempt crawls beneath my skin and the tension that hangs thickly in the atmosphere.“It won’t happen again.”“Good,” he murmurs. “Now, we can eat.”“I did mention that there’s something we need to discuss.” Father interrupts him.“My apologies, Conan.” Zane flashes him a smile that doesn’t reach his eyes. “You do understand why I’m a little uncomfortable about her hiding
Cataleya Conan Farrow is cold, strategic and ruthless. He’ll do whatever he has to do to get what he wants. More often than not, I have heard him tell Calix that the only way to maintain your grasp on power is to do whatever it takes to keep it. But then, deep down, I believed that there was a limit to my father’s desperation for more power and wealth. Calling off my engagement to Zane Van Doren was a harsh reminder of how my father was willing to give up his soul to the devil. When he first imposed the engagement on me, I spent the larger part of my life since then, prepping to become Zane’s Luna. I had to act in the way an Alpha would want. I had to look a certain way. I had to preserve my innocence because according to my father’s conservative traditions, the only man who had the right to get between my legs was my husband. And for months, it was carved and beaten into me that, that man was Zane. My hatred for him meant nothing in the grand scheme of things. I believed th
MalakaiA WEEK AGO“I just want to have a little chat, Conan.” I drawl, assessing him. The atmosphere in the room is tense, and I can tell that beneath all those cocktail dresses and million dollar suits, lingers fear that made them want to shrink into their skins.Wolves have always been threatened by my kind; of what we are capable of and how dangerously unpredictably we can be.Conan is not an exception. He wears an expression of steel, doesn’t cower beneath my gaze, but when you have been dealing with all sort of monsters, you learn that even monsters have their tell.My lips twitch in a smirk. “Don’t worry. You can take some of your little guards with you.” I offer him a false safety net.If I wanted to rip his head off his neck, not even the guards in this room can stop me.He knows that.I know that.“I don’t need anyone accompanying me. I can take you.”I grin, my eyes scanning the room. He didn’t have to beckon me. When he turns around, I go after him into somewhere more sec
