ALEX'S POV
That night we poured our souls into each other, hoping to get some respite from the bloodshed we had seen but everything seemed pretty meaningless; our lovemaking session lacked any passion. It just seemed like a chore.
We laid on the bed in each other’s arms. None of us slept that night. Sleep is a gift bestowed to a calm and peaceful mind.
