After staying late at the office and then taking the long way back to the packhouse, it is well into the night by the time I open the garage door and quietly make my way up the stairs to my room. I open my door and step inside. I then close it behind me and let out a sigh as I lean back on it for a moment.

I take a breath in and then straighten off my door and walk through the room to the bathroom. I turn on the shower, strip off my clothes, throw them in the hamper near the door, and then step under the warmth of the water.
