Lorraine's POV

"It's Mark, baby..." bulalas niya habang isa-isang tinatanggal ang butones ng suot kong damit.

Ilang segundo pa lamang ang nakalipas ng kanyang inilayo ang labi sa akin. Pero muli ko siyang hinila sa kanyang batok, at ako na mismo ang humalik sa kanya.

"F*ck!" he cursed while responding to my kiss.

And when he finally removed the buttons of my clothes...he threw it somewhere and positioned himself on top of me.

"So f*cking sexy..." he murmured, his hands were tracing the curves of my body...pressing it with his fingers.

My breath hitched the moment his lips found mine again.

Mas mabagal na ngayon. Mas sinadya. Parang hindi na lang basta init ang habol… kundi ang mismong pakiramdam ng bawat segundo.

“Easy…” he whispered against my lips, his voice rough, almost teasing. “You’re rushing.”

But his hands didn’t match his words.

They were warm. Firm. Moving slowly along my sides, as if memorizing every curve they passed. I felt his touch linger… deliberate… making my skin react in ways I couldn’t control.

Napapikit ako nang mariin. Hindi dahil gusto kong umiwas. Kundi dahil gusto kong damhin lahat.

Every breath. Every shift. Every inch of closeness between us.

“Look at me,” he murmured.

I didn’t realize I was holding my breath until I opened my eyes again.

He was already watching me.

Too focused. Too intense.

Parang ako lang ang nakikita niya sa buong mundo.

“Still sure about this?” he asked, his thumb brushing lightly against my jaw, slow… grounding… but dangerous all the same.

I swallowed.

“Don’t stop now,” bulong ko, mabigat ang bawat paghinga.

Something in his expression darkened...not in a bad way… but in a way that made my heart race harder.

“Careful what you ask for,” he said softly, almost amused.

Then he leaned down again, but this time, his kiss was different.

Not rushed.

Not desperate.

Controlled.

Slow enough to make me feel every second stretch… every breath deepen… every tiny sound escape my lips without permission.

A soft gasp slipped from me when his hand pressed gently against my waist, pulling me closer.

“See?” he murmured against my skin, his voice lower now, closer to a whisper. “You react to everything.”

My fingers tightened slightly against him.

I hated how right he was. Hated how easily he could read me more than my own husband does.

I didn’t pull away.

Didn’t stop him.

"I will make you feel satisfied tonight, Lorraine..." he whispered and kissed me again.

~~~~****~~~~
The room felt quieter now.
Not peaceful.
Just… heavy.
Parang may naiwan sa hangin....init, paghinga, mga bagay na hindi na mababawi.
I sat at the edge of the bed, slowly reaching for my clothes scattered across the floor. My movements were calm… controlled… as if nothing inside me had shifted.
But I knew better.
I could still feel his gaze on me.
Bare. Unapologetic.
Watching.
Tahimik siyang nakahiga, isang braso ang nakapatong sa noo habang sinusundan ng mga mata ang bawat galaw ko habang nagbibihis.
I didn’t look at him right away.
Hindi pa.
Because somehow… that felt more dangerous than everything we just did.
After slipping into my dress, I paused.
Then without a word, I reached for my bag.
The sound of the zipper was louder than it should’ve been.
I took out the money.
Counted it once.
Twice.
Then placed it neatly on the bed… beside him.
Deliberate.
Clear.
A line drawn.
“Here's the payment for your service,” I said quietly, finally meeting his eyes.
There was no shame in my voice.
Just certainty.
His gaze shifted from the money… back to me.
Slow.
Unreadable.
“Did I look like I needed it?” he asked, his voice low, carrying that same calm danger from earlier.
I tilted my head slightly.
“No,” I admitted. “But that’s what we agreed on.”
A pause stretched between us.
He let out a soft breath...almost a laugh, but not quite.
“Agreement,” he repeated, like the word amused him.
I picked up my heels, holding them in one hand as I stepped closer, not too close, but enough.
“Don’t overthink it,” I added, my tone softer now. “You were…”
I stopped for a second.
Choosing my words.
Not because I didn’t know what to say...but because I didn’t expect myself to say it.
“…good,” I finished.
His brow lifted slightly.
“Just good?” he teased.
A faint smile tugged at my lips.
“Too good,” I corrected, meeting his gaze directly. “Satisfied?”
This time, he actually smirked.
Slow. Confident. But there was something else behind it now.
Something quieter.
Something that lingered.
“Depends,” he murmured. “Is that a compliment… or a review?”
I let out a soft breath. A half amused and half tired. Dahil hindi pa masyadong nakaka-recover ang katawan ko sa ginawa namin.
“Take it however you want,” I said.
Then I straightened. Putting distance back where it belonged.
“This was just tonight,” I reminded him gently. “Nothing more.”
His eyes stayed on me.
Not arguing.
Not agreeing.
Just… watching.
Like he was trying to decide something.
Or maybe… memorizing.
I turned toward the door.
Hand already on the knob.
But for a brief second...I hesitated.
Then I spoke, without looking back.
“Goodbye, Mark. And I hope that we don’t see each other again.”
For a split second, the room went still.
Then, suddenly he laughed. A low… amused… like something about that hit him in a way he didn’t expect.
“Ouch,” he muttered, a hand coming up to rest behind his head again. “That actually hurts, you know.”
There was a playful edge to his voice, but it didn’t completely hide the weight underneath.
I glanced over my shoulder.
One last look.
“Wasn’t meant to,” I said calmly.
His eyes met mine instantly.
“Really?” he asked, the corner of his lips lifting slightly. “Because it sounded very intentional. Pagang sinasadya mo talagang wasakin ang kumpyansa ko na napasaya kita sa kama."
I exhaled softly.
“Maybe it was.”
Another silence stretched between us, but this one felt different.
He shook his head slightly, a quiet chuckle slipping from his lips.
“You pay me, compliment me, then tell me you never want to see me again,” he said. “You don’t do things halfway, do you?”
I smiled as I shook my head. "Fine. We can see each other again, but let's pretend we don't know each other."
Matapos kong sabihin iyon ay tuluyan na akong naglakad palabas ng kwarto. At sa pagkakataong ito ay wala na akong maramdaman na mabigat na bagay sa dibdib ko.
At alam kong handa na muli akong humarap sa dalawang taong sumira sa akin...at tapusin ang lahat.
    Lorraine's POV "Hmmm, it's been a while, Lorraine. What about we do it again?" My eyes twitched. "Siraulo ka ba?!" mariing tanong ko sa kanya hindi siya kaagad sumagot at nginitian lamang ako. Ilang sandali pa ay umangat ang kamay niya, dahan-dahan iyong gumalaw hanggang sa tuluyan itong dumapo sa aking balikat na agad ko namang winaksi. "Lumabas ka, Mark..." utos ko. "Ayoko." "Sinabi ng lumabas ka!" pabulyaw kong pag-ulit at doon siya muling napangisi.Mula sa mga mata ko ay bumaba ang tingin niya patungo sa aking katawan. I saw him staring at my body, especially on my chest for seconds before he lifted his gaze up—back to my face."Paano ako lalabas kung ganito ka ganda ang tanawin rito sa loob?" banat niya sabay iminuwestro ang katawan ko. Hindi ko alam kung ano pa ang dapat kong sabihin para mapaalis niya...kaya bago pa man ako tuluyang masiraan ng bait at mabilis akong tumalikod sa kanya, dala-dala ang pajamas na kinuha ko sa closet at dumiretsyo sa loob ng banyo up
    LORRAINE’S POV The headache started before I even left the office. Maybe because of the meetings. Maybe because of the investors. Or maybe because Mark had successfully ruined my peace again earlier. I loosened a tired breath while gathering the last few documents on my desk before slipping them inside my bag. Outside the glass walls of my office, the city was already glowing beneath the evening lights. Habang nasa opisina ako...iniisip ko kung ano na naman ang maabutan ko mamaya sa bahay pag-uwi ko? kaya minsan talaga ay gusto ko na lamang rito manatili sa opisina, kaysa umuwi roon at mas lalo lang sasakit ang ulo ko. But eventually, I still found myself walking through the mansion doors nearly an hour later. The house was quiet again. And for some reason, that silence made me lower my guard slightly. I removed my heels near the entrance before rubbing my temple tiredly. God… I just wanted water. Then sleep. Nothing else. Without bothering to turn on more lights, I he
    MARK’S POV The moment I stepped downstairs, the faint sound of movement immediately led me toward the kitchen. Soft lights illuminated the marble counters. And sitting casually on one of the stools near the island was Flora. Mag-isa lang siya roon at maya-maya pa ay unti-unti siyang napalingon sa akin ng mapansin niya ang presents ko. Then slowly...she smiled, sweetly at me. Kagaya ng kung paano niya nginingitian si Brando kapag nakikita niya ito. “Well…” mahina niyang sambit habang inilalapag ang wine glass na hawak niya. “Looks like I’m not the only one still awake.” I ignored the tone in her voice and walked straight toward the counter instead. Honestly, I wasn’t in the mood for her games tonight. I grabbed a glass from the shelf before pouring myself water. But before I could even take a sip, I suddenly felt movement beside me. Then warmth. Flora casually wrapped both hands around my arm and leaned against me without hesitation. Close enough that I could f
    MARK’S POV By the time I got back to the house, it was already past 9:30 in the evening. I stepped out of the car and glanced toward the massive mansion standing beneath the dim outdoor lights. Usually, at this hour, I’d already hear something from inside. Pinaghalong halakhak ni Flora at Brando, kasama ang mga bisita nila. Pero ngayon ay masyadong tahimik ang paligid. I loosened a breath before walking toward the entrance and unlocking the door myself. And the moment I stepped inside, silence immediately greeted me. No footsteps. No conversation. No sound from the television. Even the living room lights were dimmed. My brows furrowed slightly. “Either they’re asleep…” bulong ko habang unti-unting hinuhubad ang relo ko. “Or doing something disgusting upstairs again.” Honestly, with Brando and Flora? Could be both. I tossed my car keys onto the center table before walking toward the staircase. A faint exhaustion sat heavily on my shoulders now. Visiting Gabriel always did
    MARK'S POV(... Continuation) I could still remember the sound of that explosion....it still lived somewhere inside my head no matter how many years passed. I blinked once before looking away from the pictures. Gabriel noticed me. “You’re thinking too loudly again,” he muttered while tossing me bottled water. I caught it easily. “Didn’t know that was possible.” “With you? Very impossible..." asar niya, ngumisi lamang ako. I twisted the bottle cap open before leaning against the kitchen counter. Then finally asked, “How have you been?” Gabriel shrugged once.“Therapy helps....bukod doon ay masyado ring makukulit ang mga inaanak mo kaya kahit papaano ay hindi ko na masyadong naiisip ang senaryong iyon," aniya, mababa ang boses ngunit may bahid ng ngiti sa kanyang labi. And that answer alone told me enough. PTSD never really disappeared. Not after Iraq. Not after losing the people who become a part of your life...your journey. You just learned how to carry it wit
    MARK’S POV The moment I stepped out of Lorraine’s company building, the smirk on my face slowly faded. Not completely. Because despite how entertaining it was to tease her there was still something sitting heavily at the back of my mind. Something I couldn’t ignore. I loosened a breath as I unlocked my car and slid into the driver’s seat. Then a few seconds later, the engine roared to life. The city blurred past me quietly while one hand rested against the steering wheel. Traffic. Noise. Sunlight reflecting against glass buildings. Masyadong normal ang araw na ito sa isang katulad ko na sanay sa magulo at maingay na kapaligaran. Kasi ang salitang katahimikan ay nakakatakot kapag nasa militar ka. Pero ngayon ay iba...kasi tahimik nga ang paligid, pero hindi naman ang utak ko. I kept replaying Lorraine’s face inside that office. The way she looked at me when I cornered her against the wall. The way she froze when I told her I’d willingly submit to her instead.
    LORRAINE’S POV “I would willingly submit to you, Lorraine…” His voice was low. Steady. Dangerously calm against my skin. “I will let you control me,” dagdag niya habang nananatiling nakahawak sa aking panga. “Hahayaan kita sa kahit anong paraan na gusto mo.” My breath hitched. D*mn him!!! N
    Lorraine’s POV The morning felt strangely normal. And somehow...that made everything worse. Soft sunlight filtered through the curtains of my bedroom while I stood in front of the mirror fixing the sleeve of my blouse. My face looked calmer now. Sobrang kalmado na para bang walang nangyayaring
