Mia

The sound of music and the smell of liquor filled the room where Mia Parker and her two besties Emily Clarke and Yvonne Christian were having the time of their life.

"Go Mia!! Yeah!!!" the girls screamed as they cheered to pretty Mia on the dance floor.

Hey M! Quit dancing and come let's have a toast.

Mia happily next to Emily and Yvonne. Yvonne raised her glass and so did Emily and Mia.

"To Mia". Future owner of Glorious Peak Resort.

To me! Mia said

"To Mia!" cheers. The sound of glasses clanging against each other was heard. 

Yeey... Mia Smiled happily as she thought back to how it all started...

"Dad" *sniffs*. Little Mia said with misty eyes. When is mum coming back from the hospital? Is she alright dad? *sobs* why can't I see her dad? She whimpered.

Borden Parker couldn't help but feel sorry for his little Mia. He didn't know how to tell Mia that her mother - Jenny was gone and never coming back. His little angel, though six years old but with a brain of a ten years old. How could he explain to her that the woman who brought her into this world is dead after battling cancer for five years. 

Oh my little angel. He said as he looked into his daughter's brown eyes filled with tears. That moment he could see a striking resemblance with his wife. Her bright brown eyes, black hair and smooth skin. She was so beautiful and a carbon copy of his wife and it only hurt him more to know that she's gone.

Dad *sobs*. Please I want to see mommy. 

Don't worry you'll see her soon but not now. Borden said.

But dad, when will I see mommy. I'm sure she wants to see me too right?

I know she wants to angel and she's always watching over you. It will take a long time sweetheart so you must do everything to make her proud so she'll be very happy when she sees you. Borden said with misty eyes.

Dad? Mia looked up and saw her dad's eyes. She felt a prick in her heart.

I want to have a lot of money dad.

Borden suddenly looked at his child wondering why his daughter suddenly said that.

I don't want you to go to the hospital like mum. I want to take care of you so that you will stay with me, I promise. Mia cried while her dad tugged the hair from her face and looked into her eyes.

I trust you my angel. I know you'll make me proud he said as he kissed her forehead.

And that was how it all started. 

Mia worked hard to make sure to fulfill her promise to make her father proud. Time went by and Mia just finished her exams and graduated from college at 21. She worked as a secretary for three years until she had enough money to open her salon. Two years later, Mia's business boomed and she was known to be one of the most successful woman in the city.

I'll take Care of you dad. I'll make sure you won't suffer again. Mia whispered as a tear dropped on her cheek.

Hey CEO, Aren't you gonna dance. Emily said as she pulled Mia off the chair and on the dancefloor.

Mia smiled happily as her friends kept on laughing and dancing on the dance floor. She couldn't feel less glad that she was with them.

Someone observed them from afar and couldn't stop smiling when he took a look at Mia. One word came to his mind as he saw her dancing graciously.

"Beautiful"...
