“THERE you are, setting down beautifully,” Emily whispered. Her lips curled into a smile as she watched the sunset through the window.
Sunsets have become her comfort ever since she was a child. It was her constant reminder that every struggle would end, every wound would heal, and every hot tear would fade.
She could feel how tired her body and soul were from her constant battle, yet as she watched the sun set solemnly before her eyes, it gave her hope, peace, and a little happiness.
But she knew it was only temporary, as sunset also meant new suffering.
Emily Lawrence lived differently than others; she was treated with extreme prejudice because the pack, particularly her brother, who was the current Alpha, saw her as a disgrace.
He said she was cursed, and that she was born differently. While the rest of the pack had naturally dark skin and jet black hair, her skin was as white as snow, and her hair was naturally dyed a ginger color that became even brighter whenever she exposed herself to sunlight.
Heard of the worst? While all of my pack mates were able to shift after turning thirteen years old, she wasn’t.
She had no wolf inside of her, and she didn’t know why.
With these, Emily was deprived of so many things. She was forbidden to go out of the house, which felt like a cage, for eighteen years. She had no friends; no one on whom she could rely aside from herself; no one to whom she could run because no one ever accepted her.
So here she was, living in a house that felt like hell and serving the only family left, the ever-ruthless Jacob Lawrence, Alpha of the Dark Moon Pack.
Emily dashed into the kitchen and started cooking Alpha’s dinner. At any moment, he’d be home from work. Dinner must be served as soon as he’s home, or else he’ll beat her up like a punching bag. She hated it, but she put up with it—not because she wanted to; she just didn’t have much of a choice. He was powerful, and he could kill her with one swing, which she didn’t want to happen, because she still hoped that one day all these nonsense things in her life would end; that she’d be able to shift and meet her mate.
Emily quickly carried on with her task, cooking steak, which was Alpha’s favorite, and hoping that with this food, he’d be leaving her alone for the night. But as soon as Emily heard the front door open, her body immediately stiffened.
“Shit, I wasn’t done cooking…”
His heavy footsteps became loud and clear, an indication that he was on his way to the kitchen to check on her. A pang of fear went through her chest. She lowered her eyes and focused on cooking, deeply praying that he wouldn’t be upset or something.
Shutting her eyes, she breathed hard. But the second Emily felt his nose against my neck, her face turned cold and pale.
“Hmm, since when do you smell so good, Emily?” Jacob murmured as he breathed against the back of her neck, which made her feel the goose bumps crawling over her skin. He stroked her hair, pressing his body against hers. “You looked damn sexy in your filthy clothes. How about we take it off?”
“Jacob, what are you doing?” Emily asked softly, trying to get away from him, but his arms were fast enough to snake into her waist, pulling her closer to him until she got to feel the growing thing in his groin area.
She felt a sheer amount of terror, knowing what this was going to be. Emily wasn’t innocent about what he was trying to do, as he had done it with numerous omega she-wolves before. Disgust built within her, and she couldn’t help but question how he could do this to his younger sister.
He began kissing her neck. Her exhale turned into a whimper when she felt him thrusting behind her, purposely making her feel his bulge against her butt.
“Jacob, stop it!”
Emily gritted her teeth. As she gathered her remaining strength, she forcibly elbowed him and ran out of the kitchen, going directly to the main door. However, before she could open it, Jacob had already pulled her hair so hard that she could feel her scalp ripping apart.
“You, wench! Where do you think you’re going?” He laughed devilishly.
When she turned to him as she tried to remove his hand from her head, Emily smelled the reek of alcohol in his scent. His eyes were red as the devil’s, and she was pretty sure he was so drunk that he had turned into an extremely disgusting animal.
“Let go of me! Jacob—” He slapped her face before she could finish my plea, so hard that her tears rolled down her pale cheeks.
“You’re not going anywhere until you get to satisfy me, little mutt,” he remarked as he leered at her.
He struck her stomach, making her fall onto the cold floor. Emily shrieked in agony and coughed up blood. The next thing happened: he removed his pants as he stared down at her, eyes full of lust. She could no longer describe the dread she felt, but she knew this would haunt her forever.
“P-Please, don’t do this,” Emily pleaded. She tried to sit upright, but he only kicked her.
“I am an Alpha. Consider yourself lucky that you got to have sex with me.” He grinned.
Seconds later, he was already on top of her, pinning both of her arms above her head and spreading her legs apart. His hand rolled her long skirt upward, and with one swift movement he was able to tear her underwear.
Emily tried to move her hands, refusing this disgusting plan he had. However, Jacob was so strong and eager to violate her. She screamed for help when she felt his manhood touch that very sensitive spot on her body.
“Jacob, no! We’re siblings! D-Don’t do this!” All she did was cry and beg, but he never listened.
He never felt disgusted at all! She refused to give him what he wanted, and so she tried to close her legs, which made him growl. She could only glare at him, crying.
“For Moon Goddess’ sake, I am your sister, Jacob! We’re still family, so please stop doing this!” Then her shoulders trembled. “P-Please…”
He laughed out loud and offered her a broad grin.
“I haven’t told you that we’re not goddamn related, wench. You’re an adopted child, so basically this is fine,” he said, and then tried to rub his manhood against her private part.
Emily was completely struck by his revelation. Her body went numb, and everything became even more frightening…
As her tears continued to fall, loud screams from the outside were the next thing they heard. Jacob was ready to take her and had spread her legs widely when he suddenly stopped and looked over at the closed main door, seemingly bothered by the noises outside.
Those noises…
“The pack is under attack! Fuck!”
Six months later, Life was like a never-ending rollercoaster of surprises. Some days, it could be incredibly wonderful, while on other occasions, it felt like a series of unfortunate events. There were also those moments when it was filled with tension and fear. But its beauty remains for as long as you believe you can get through all this series of unexpected emotions. That’s what Emily had learned in the lesson life had given her. From being a slave to a pack she thought her only family to becoming the Luna of the pack, she thought were monsters but turned out to be the best family she could ever have. While there were painful situations that happened as she went along in this life, Emily would admit that these phases she had to go through helped her to become the best she-wolf she could ever imagine. With a Lycan King by her side and a kind daughter who values helping others using the gift she received from the Moon Goddess, and now that they were expecting a new family member
Five hours later, Emily was already carrying Nia in her arms. They finally arrived in the Lycan Blood Pack territory and her daughter shivered at the sight of the land before them. “Mommy, I don’t like this place,” Nia said, trembling. “Where’s Daddy? Is he here?”Emily kissed Nia’s cheek trying to console her. “Daddy’s here. She needs you, Nia.” She took one of her tiny hands and kissed its knuckles. “Remember that day you showed me how you are able to bring the dead bird back to life?” Nia nodded her head, focusing on what Emily, her mother, had to say. Emily swallowed hard and carefully glanced at Nia. “Can you do the same thing to your Daddy…? B-Bring him back to life?” Her little girl’s eyes began to water. Nia was smart enough to realize what Emily meant by that. Her lips curved downward, and her chin trembled. “Daddy is dead, Mommy?” Nia’s voice cracked. Unable to control her emotions, Emily cried and nodded her head. “Y-Yes… Daddy is dead.”“No, Mommy,” Nia broke into te
Emily wailed in despair, her body trembling. She felt as if Lucian's death had become her death also… she sobbed as she hugged Lucian's dead body, kissing his forehead. "No… no, please, Lucian…" she cried. "Please don't do this to me. W-We need you… We haven't done so much together…" In the middle of her grievance, Alpha Cain ran inside the basement and came to a halt as soon as he saw her crying her heart out due to Lucian's passing. "Emily…" his voice sounded shocked. Sobbing, Emily turned her head to Alpha Cain, her heart consumed by fury. "Y-You…" "We need to get out of here," Alpha Cain said as he tried to compose himself. "Lucian's dead. We have to get out of here, otherwise, the other Alphas will kill you!" Emily growled angrily. She put Lucian down and immediately attacked Alpha Cain, using her Alpha power to push him with all force, which made him fly into the wall. The wall began to crack until it broke down. She didn't stop right there as she shifted to her wolf form
No longer caring about hurting and killing werewolf warriors from the enemy's side, Emily advanced mercilessly. Having Atlas and Laura backing her up was helpful, as the two fought other Alphas who tried to block her way. It didn't take long hours before she finally could see the towering mansion of the Silver Crest, which she guessed was where Scarlett was hiding. Emily sniffed in the air, smelling the familiar disgusting scent of her nemesis, Scarlett. The smell itself made all her emotions surge inside her. Her eyes were bloodshot as she looked up at the mansion. A growl escaped her throat before she made her way to the mansion's entrance. Without hesitation, she pushed the double doors open and scanned the first floor. It was dark, cold, and empty. "I believe you were looking for me," said the familiar voice that ignited her fury. "Long time no see." Emily looked up and found Scarlett staring down at her from the second floor, leaning against the railings while eating an apple.
Emily was stunned by the sight of the colossal convoy of trucks that stood in formation outside the arena. Atlas Kane motioned for her to inspect the trucks, and she complied without hesitation. She’d never seen so many weapons in her entire life. There were guns and rifles brimming with lethal silver bullets, and there were barrels containing syringes that had ominous wolfsbane liquid. She then turned her gaze towards the formidable gathering of hundreds of warriors behind the array of trucks, standing steadfastly and waiting for instructions from their Alpha. She spun to face Atlas Kane in awe. Emily never knew her new boss from the human town would be this helpful in times of a great war. “Well, I hope I brought enough.” Atlas Kane shrugged, sounding very arrogant as usual, only by now, Emily didn’t feel irritated with how he talked. She was, in fact, thankful as the weapons and warriors would absolutely help them in the counterattack. She looked at Tyler and Laura, whose eyes
Emily looked up at the night sky and took a sigh. She was sitting on the stairs of the arena's double doors for almost an hour, guarding the entire place from possible attacks from their enemies. Her mind was filled with worry. The pack was in horrible shape; the smoke and fires not far away from her indicated that the situation could be worsened more, and she had no idea to what extent this war would go further. She stared up blankly at the silver moon in the sky, hoping it would give her much strength to carry on with helping the remaining pack members and save Lucian. Wherever Nia's father was at the moment, may the Moon Goddess help him survive no matter what; he needed to stay alive for them. 'Scarlett is the root cause of all this mess. She has to pay for everything that she ruined, Em,' said Cassia through the mind link, seething with anger as the wolf snarled with its eyes glowing. 'If something happens to Nia's father, I swear I won't let it slide.'"We won't let it slide,"
