That night Olivia was conflicted as she was cooking she accidently cut her finger. "Sweetheart are you at Lunar city already?" Mia asked her daughter as she put a band aid on her finger. Olivia looked at her mother confuse at the question. Mia chuckled at Olivia's clueless expression. She put the stove in medium and left it to simmer while she led daughter to the table. They sat on the stool and she offered her some fruits while they waited for dinner to cook.

"Your thoughts seems so far away sweetheart. Did it reach Lunar city?" Mia asked again "Are you thinking about your move next month?" 

"No mom I still have 45 days before I report for duty. I still have time but something is on my mind" Olivia confessed as she stared at her mother's hand. When a fated pair are bonded, the red mark on their pinky finger changes color and becomes golden. 

"Mom have you ever questioned your fated link with Dad?" Olivia honestly asked her mother. "Is this about Trevor?" Her mother asked taking a slice of apple and taking a bite of it. After finishing the slice Mia unexpectedly chuckled and took her daughter's hands in hers. 

"Did I ever tell you about the story of how me and your father met?" Mia asked her daughter "No I don't believe you ever told me Mom"

"Well prepare your heart it wasn't all sunshines and rainbows. I met your father when I was 23 years old I was in a cafe with my boyfriend that time" she started to narrate and smile when Olivia's eyes widen at the word boyfriend. "Don't judge me sweetheart I had a life before your father. Now back to the story well I was on a date when suddenly I bump into this person and suddenly I felt my chest tighten and a warm feeling spread in my heart. When i looked at my finger, the red mark appeared encircling my pinky. 

He immediately introduced himself and we got to talking. But my boyfriend soon came and your father almost beat him up to death. Good thing they were stop and I brought my boyfriend to the hospital. Before I left your father warned me, he said 'I want you to break up with him before the end of the day or else the hospital wouldn't save him'. I was so furious when I heard those words." Olivia watched amused at her mother irritated expression as she copied her father's voice. 

"I got so mad at him ordering me around. When we got to the hospital me and my boyfriend talked about the situation. He was my best friend before he became my boyfriend so he was worried what all of this meant. So we agreed to take a step back and return to being friends while I sort my relationship with your dad" Mia felt nostalgic as she reminisced. 

"Your ex boy friend was really understanding Mom to let you go that easily" Olivia was amaze at the guy's understanding. "Yup he was and is until now I think one important factor is that we were first friends before anything else. Now we can laugh about our time together with no hard feelings. Plus he is also a shifter so he knew what meeting your fated one meant. You actually know him, he is Leonel's father" 

"Leonel's dad!? Alpha Johnson?" Olivia asked in disbelief. "The one and only Leonard Johnson, Why are you shock?" Mia smiled at Olivia's reaction. "It's just you and Alpha Johnson..." Olivia started to say but she couldn't articulate her sentence.

"Now we got distracted let's go back to the story. When I exited the hospital that night I was shocked to find your Dad waiting for me at the parking lot. We had talked and I asked him to apologize to Leonard. I told him I wouldn't meet him if he wouldn't apologize and I left him there on the parking lot. The next day I heard from Leonard that your father went to apologize to him. He also told me he met his mate the nurse who attended him" 

"I feel like it went full circle after that at first I was weary to be with your Dad. Because I was from a relationship but your Dad told me we will start off as friends. Plus you can't ignore the attraction was there. After a few months I finally agreed to be with him and the rest is history" Mia finished her story. 

"Did you ever wonder if you weren't fated if you and Dad would end up together?" She asked "Maybe you would have ended up with Alpha Johnson?" She added in a whisper.

"To be honest in the beginning me and your Dad had our problems. I use to question if fate was right that I ended up with someone like him. But I soon realize that I was comfortable with Leonard because we had such a solid friendship. I admired him, I respected him, and I loved him. But that love was different from the love I felt for your Dad. My relationship with Leonard was comfortable like a cushion but my greatest adventure was with your Dad. We had our ups and downs but later on we found our rhythm. Recognizing your fated mate is just a guide but it is up to you and your partner to make it work." She answered "I think if I ever ended with Leonard I think later on we would have broken up down the road. We were so alike that we would have bored each other out to be honest. He needed someone who would challenge him, Someone who could bring out his inner child. He didn't learn to live life with me we just went to the flow. " She added then smiled as a familiar scent filled the room.

"Your mother also needed someone to help her come out of her shell. A partner to be with in this adventure called life" Oliver kissed his wife's cheek as he gave her a backhug. 

"You needed someone patient who will be able to keep up with your character" Mia retorted leaning against Oliver. "You like my character my love look at our 5 children. Even now you like my character I remember last night how you......." Mia cut him off by covering his mouth. 

"Olivia doesn't need to know that Oliver" Mia stated glaring at her husband. Olivia watch her parent's with amusement. "Thank you mom for the story I think this is my que to leave" Olivia gave each of her parent's a kiss on their cheek. 

She walked towards the garden, but before she can go her arm was grabbed by her mom. "Sweetheart but remember it is different per pair. You and Trevor were blessed to be able to find each other early. The two of you have to figure out your roles as you grow from children to adults." Mia explained hugging her daughter. 

"Thank you mom" Olivia returned her hug before she walked to the garden. She needed to figure out her thoughts.
