LOGINDante’s POV
“Again!” I yelled, watching two warriors crumple like wet paper, sweat pouring off their faces. “You think Alpha Luca’s boys’ll give you a water break?” They scrambled up, panting and nodding, eyes wide as rabbits. I almost felt sorry for them. Almost. I heard soft footsteps behind me and I didn’t even bother turning. Only one person smelled like rain on fresh dirt. Elora. Her scent punched right through the smoke, way too grounding for my liking. She showed up in her fitted tunic and gloves, hair yanked back, looking like she was ready to murder someone with sheer willpower. “You’re pushing them too hard,” she said, arms crossing like a challenge. I just grabbed another blade. “They’re not kids. They need to bleed here, or they’ll die out there.” She lifted a brow. “And you?” I didn’t answer. Not her business. She stepped closer, grabbed a sword herself. “Then let me train with them.” I whirled around. “Elora...” “What? Think I’ll break?” I hated the way my name sounded in her mouth. Made my heart do stupid things. “You’re acting as Alpha's second, Elora. You shouldn’t risk getting hurt.” She shot me a look that could cut steel. “We’re all risking something. You, me, Dominic… the whole pack.” I knew I had lost. So I tossed her a practice sword. “Fine. Show me what you’ve got.” The others watched like it was their favorite show. Elora moved like water, smooth, sharp, no wasted effort. “You’ve done this before,” I grunted, blocking her attack. She didn’t miss a beat. “I have been trained before the raids.” Right. I remembered the stories, the stuff she survived. That kind of fire doesn’t go out. We picked up speed, blades singing. Sweat dripped down her neck and I caught myself staring at her throat. Shouldn’t have, but couldn’t help it. “Distracted?” she teased. I growled, coming at her harder. She matched me, twisting under my guard, nearly catching me off-balance. I caught her wrist, yanking her in close. Her breath hitched. So did mine. “You’re reckless,” I muttered. “I’m alive,” she shot back, voice steady. For a second, it was just her, heat, heartbeat, eyes. The whole world faded. She shoved me away, glaring daggers. “You don’t have to protect me, Dante.” I almost laughed. “Yeah, I do.” Her lips parted, like she wasn’t sure whether to punch me or kiss me. “Why?” I looked away, jaw tight. “Dominic needs you.” What a lousy lie. It tasted like ash. Her face changed, softened just a hair. “And you?” I didn’t answer. I didn't trust myself too. Just lifted my sword again, hiding. “Again.” She came at me like she meant to kill. Every hit had something behind it, anger, pain, whatever. I blocked, caught, and spun until I had her flat on her back, my blade right at her throat. We froze like that, chests heaving, faces inches apart. I could feel her heartbeat. She didn’t shove me off. Her lips parted, eyes searching mine, and something wild flickered there. “Dante…” she whispered. I swallowed, torn up inside. “You’re getting better,” I forced out, peeling myself away. I reached out to help her up, but pounding footsteps crashed in, shattering whatever that moment was. A guard came running across the field, gasping for breath. “Beta Dante! Lady Elora!” I spun around so fast. “What?” He barely managed a bow, sucking in air. “Scouts are back... the Dark Storm army just crossed the river. They’ll hit our borders tonight.” Yeah, that landed like a punch. Elora went pale for half a beat, but her voice? Solid steel. “Get the council. Ready the warriors.” He gave a frantic nod and bolted. She turned to me then, and man, her eyes blazing now, not scared, just full-on fire. “It’s happening.” I slid my sword back into its sheath, heart racing. “Guess we’re doing this.” For a second, neither of us moved. I could see it in her, the wild, stubborn spark I’d noticed from the first day. The thing that made me watch her a little too long. I wanted to say something...warn her, maybe spill the mess of stuff twisting inside me, but all that came out was a lousy, “Stick close, okay?” She smirked, just a hint. “Try and keep up.” Then she was gone, already shouting orders, voice slicing through the chaos like she owned every inch of this place. And as I watched her, banners snapping, soldiers roaring her name, it hit me like an avalanche. This wasn’t just duty anymore. I was falling for her. And the real fight? It was just kicking off.Dominic’s POV I stared at Elora. She is the real Luna of this pack. She was always so ready to do things for the pack. She has gone through a lot for this pack. My mind rolled back to when we were little and she would always say things she would do for the promise she would become Luna. I always laughed, and to him, he rages and makes a great Luna. Although I never believed it then, I just said comfort to her. But look at her now... the only thing different here is that she is married to me instead of Dante. She loves Dante much more than she loves me, that I could tell, but the bond was stronger. I love her too, but my brother and I can possibly share her because of the love and the bond between the three of us. Elora would be our Luna, She would be both our wife, and Luna. This was the only thing I would do for my brother and her. I made my brother my Co Alpha so we can both be with Elora. The full moon climbed above us, old and bright, a silver coin tossed into midnight velv
Elora’s POVThey used to say peace came quietly. But honestly, it never crashed in like a battle or scorched like heartbreak. It just slipped in, soft as dawn, slow and gentle, so easy to miss until, one morning, you noticed the birds were singing again. The Crescent Moon was finally mending. The smoke stopped rising from the broken borders. Laughter started to echo where pain and crying used to fill the air, real laughter, the kind that wraps around you and promises things will get better. And me? I wasn’t sitting on a throne or standing next to any Alpha. I was right there in the middle of it all, with my people. Most mornings, I went to do my Luna duties. I help rebuild broken homes, paint houses, and make sure the children and adults are being treated well in the healer's chambers. I took care of nursing mothers and made sure there were enough supplies to last for the day. Nobody was left unattended. The young warriors still in training often trailed after me while I inspected the
Dante’s POVHaving Elora fully back was something that lifted a happy mood in me. Although I didn't like the fact that we both had to share her, and I am not sure how, there was nothing I could do. I only wanted her to live and that was enough for me. I didn't want to be greedy. When Dominic sank his fang into her neck, I felt something in me snap. It was like him touching something that was not his in the first place. But he is my brother and there was nothing I could do. He was the Alpha and Elora was his wife. Even if she were my mate, I couldn't possibly stop her husband from trying to save her life. After we were done reconnecting, I left for my room to freshen up and catch a little sleep that I've been missing for quite some days. I was sure Elora was fully recovered now and would not slip in and out of consciousness anymore. Immediately, my head hit the bed after my cold shower, and I drifted off to sleep. Tomorrow was going to be a long day, and I needed to be clear-headed
Elora’s POV I stared at the empty space within me with the moon goddess's voice echoing around me. She seemed to be humming a song. Everywhere felt so peaceful and I wished I could stay here for a little while. Back in the real world, I didn't want to take part in a lot of evil. I felt a sudden jerk and jumped."What is that?" I asked the moon goddess."You are being called back to life. It looks like your time with me has ended," She said, her voice soft."But I don't want to go just yet. At least not until everything is settled between the two brothers," I argued."Elora. This isn't about you. Your devotion to the pack is what has kept the brothers alive. If you don't go back to them, I'm afraid of the outcome," I shook my head violently. This isn't happening"Then at least tell me who I am going to choose," I pleaded."They are both yours..."Before I could make out what she had meant, I felt my body being pulled back as I tried to resist. When I opened my eyes, the air felt of
Dominic’s POVElora’s breathing was shallow. Each breath she took gave me a scare. It felt like forever, and my heart raced so hard. Her skin was really pale, and the mark Dante left was disappearing fast.“No,” Dante choked out, shaking her. “No, no, stay with me—Elora, please!”The healer’s hands trembled over her herbs and glowing bottles. She couldn’t pick one, couldn’t commit. Her voice cracked. “Her energy’s fading… her spirit’s slipping!” Her eyes darted to me, wide and scared. “If one bond won’t hold, let it pass through both. Bite her, Alpha.”I froze.Me? Bite her?I looked down. Elora’s lips parted, her face too still. I forced myself to breathe and met Dante’s eyes. He looked as if he would snap. “Don’t touch her,” he snapped. “She’s mine.”The healer’s voice cut through everything, sharp and furious. “You fool! If she dies, she’s no one’s!”Dante’s jaw clenched. That anger washed away, replaced by fear. His eyes flicked to mine. He swallowed, then nodded, slow and stiff
Elora’s POVMy chest squeezes up tight, first that low, annoying ache, then bam, it’s like a fist yanks the air right out of my lungs. I open my mouth to say I’m fine, but nope, the words just... melt. The room spins and goes all watercolor blurry.“Elora?” Dante’s voice, all echoey and weird, comes at me from somewhere underwater. Then the universe just flips sideways. The floor's gone. I’m weightless, but someone’s arms are strong; catch me before I faceplant. My head lolls back. I hear Dominic yelling for the healer, but his voice is just noise, buried under this ringing that’s taken over my brain.“Elora, look at me!” Dante’s voice cracks, desperate. He grabs for my wrist, checking for a pulse. I catch a glimpse of his eyes, those ridiculous golden eyes that always made me feel safe, they’re wide with panic now.“I can’t... she’s not...” the healer stammers, and honestly, that’s not what you want to hear right now.Everything dissolves into chaos. Hands everywhere, pressing cold c
