Mag-log inChapter 006
After the fight kael stormed away like he was angry…goddess knows I couldn't just watch after hearing that loud sound.
I immediately ran after him, I halted catching up to him” sorry" I murmured, flattening my lips.
He didn't reply, just hastened his footsteps, I sighed running after him “I'm sorry, I couldn't just stand and watch" I said staring at the ground, he stopped and turned abruptly I almost rammed into him.
" What are you?,” his face looked unsettled, confused rather and so am I…I don't know what's going on.
“What do you mean?" I blinked.
“The roots. Thorns. You can't tell me you know nothing about them" he queried, I swallowed hard staring at him.
“I don't know, they just happened, maybe it's your weird land having an effect on me" I shrugged with raised eyebrows.
He took one last glare at me and walked away, I scoffed running after him…I've always felt plants react to my mood but those are just imaginations right? I mean I'm just a human that's being dragged into weird land.
He stopped when we got to a passage or whatever they called it here “take this room, doctor maria would come to examine you later, just in case there's any internal injury" I nodded and held the door knob when his voice came again.
“And thanks for earlier" he waltzed into the next room before I could even turn, I shrugged entering the room.
It was well decorated and not so empty and dull like the cabin, I smiled walking to the bed…I sniffed in the room’s nice scent relaxing on the bed.
And just before I could have a moment of rest earlier event brushed my mind “what were those?" I asked myself sitting up, it's not the first time if I'm being truthful to myself.
Once Jess had made me angry, I went home very pissed off and when I went to Dad's garden some plants suddenly erupted from the ground. Some beautiful flowers with a very nice scent rose really high. It got to my nose, the scent had calmed me down…but I thought it was just illusions.
I walked to the window and saw the pack members together talking and laughing faintly…a smile escaped my lip, if their stubborn alpha won't help break the curse then they can as well leave their last moments in joy.
A knock came on the door moving my attention from the window, I stared at the door for a minute before straddling to open it.
A middle aged woman stood with Kael behind her “she's here for the check up" I moved aside and she walked in, her eyes didn't forget to scan me thoroughly.
“Come lay here" I looked at Kael and he nodded, I bit my lips laying on the bed.
So many check ups I got tired, the doctor's eye twitched like she's found something…am I dying? Is that why I had a weird encounter? I can't die, mum. Jess. The pack. No, don't think about it.
“She stood up and walked to Kael, she whispered something to him and his eyes moved to look at me, I raised my brows in a " what's wrong” way, he just looked away.
" Thank you maria” he mouthed and she nodded with a smile before losing some straps she'd tied to my hands, kael’s eyes didn't leave me for a moment, like he has a million questions to dump on me once she leaves, he came closer the moment the door jammed behind us, I sat up staring at him.
“What are you, human?" He questioned, more like a command. Boy howdy did I say this.
“Human. Like you just said, I'm human" I replied with a weird smile.
“Your blood…”
" What's wrong with it?” I questioned…I can't be sick, please God.
" It's connected to a witch bloodline, not just a witch bloodline, the same one that cursed my pack” he muttered and my shoulders fell, how's that even possible, they're just full of different stories in this weird place.
" Is she not too old to be a doctor? Because clearly I don't understand why I'd be a witch” my heartbeat had increased, I can't think well anymore, I can't…the thorns!
I don't believe any of it even if my inner mind is already doubting and going wild from imaginations, why does it have to be the same one that's hurt him.
“She's a descendant of doctors, she can't be wrong” I blinked as kael said, his voice certain…I didn't know any of this or what they meant.
“If you're here to hurt my pack the second time, my hands are still working fine to kill you” shivers ran down my spine as his voice echoed, eyes dimmed as he said every word, certainty in his eyes.
He glanced at me one last time before walking out of the room, I sat on the bed pondering, he wasn't playing. He'd meant every word, if I'm a witch how come no one told me, dad. Mom. But they're clearly human. How come I'm a witch…is this some kind of glitch in creation?
Kael's POV
My heart beat increased when Maria told me her blood had connections and the same signature to the one that cursed my pack, the reason my pack members are dying. Reason my pack would soon go extinct. She's said she might be the key to break the curse or the ruin that finally ends my pack.
Of course it has to be ruin, what good comes from mates and humans…fate is just trying to control me, to show me it's powerful but I won't let it, it can plan all it wants. I won't let my pack be inflicted with pain again like 3 years ago.
I walked out of her room and entered mine, the bond struck, I could hear her worries genuinely or not…I can't side with her, there's definitely a reason why she's here, either to destroy my pack or fix it. I'm not letting fate decide anyway, I've lost the mate bond breaker a few hours ago and I'd need new things, where'd I get them.
I hissed and slumped into my bed…my chest tightened as the curse accelerated, I clutched to my chest sitting up, my whole body heated up, I've been in this for three years but still can't get used to the pain, my hand found its way to the bedstand falling the things there, my knees caved in pulling me to the ground, my knees jammed into the floor bringing another pain, I clenched my fist tightening my jaw.
If only she hadn't betrayed and destroyed my pack…and yet they're here again.
To destroy my pack. To ruin me. To inflict pain…but I won't let them.
Chapter 007My door yanked open and Mira walked in holding her chest, my view was blurry but I could still see her face clearly. Concern. Pity…or maybe I was imagining things.“Are you okay?” She questioned curling up beside me, I saw her fist clench on her chest, same part where I felt pain…is she suffering the pain with me?“Damn! What's happening to you?, I feel hurt” She questioned again coming closer, the pain subsided the moment her hands held my shoulder, my chest relived and she fell down spitting out blood.“Are you okay?” She nodded, wiping her mouth with the back of her hand. Why did the pain stop when she touched me, it usually aches till the nest morning or midnight. Is it because she's a witch? Because she's related to the curse? Unanswered questions filled my head as she gripped her neck like something was pumped there.“I can't breathe” she choked suddenly ,tapping me, I quickly cupped her into my arms running out of the room.******Doctor Maria placed a wet towel on

Chapter 5:My mind kept running through it, is there any way I could confront him? I'm locked up in this cabin, I felt the bond tighten every minute, I felt him panting, and as if the bond knew it was gonna be broken soon.I felt my heart hurt, so badly like it wanted out.And soon it was sunset, my heartbeat increased, he'd be here anytime soon, to free me and doom his pack.I should be happy to leave this place, happy I'd meet my parents and Jess but, I feel so uneasy like some strong pull toward this place. And just like I'd expected, a knock came on the door “Aria?” It was Vera's voice.I quickly stood up, gulping down nothing and trying not to panic.I opened the door, an uneasy smile played on her face “it’s time and you'd finally be free” she was trying so hard not to show her nervousness…well it didn't work.“I won't let him break it, I'd find a way to tail him or something, or disrupt it midway, somehow…anyhow” I muttered reassuringly.“Don’t, you'd only piss him off, he's ma
Chapter 4Someone was screaming.I jolted awake, heart hammering. Gray dawn light filtered through the cabin windows. The screaming continued. Raw. Agonized.I stumbled to the door and cracked it open. The clearing was chaos.Wolves. Everywhere. Some in human form, some mid-shift, caught between human and animal. Their screams were the worst. Like their bodies were tearing themselves apart."Stay inside!" A guard appeared at my door. Male. Built like a tank. His eyes were wild. "Don't come out. Don't let them see you.""What's happening?""The curse. It comes in waves. Gets worse every time." He gripped the doorframe. His knuckles were white. "Just stay inside."He left before I could ask more questions.I should have listened. Should have closed the door and hidden like he said. But I couldn't look away.A woman collapsed in the middle of the clearing. She was maybe thirty. Pretty. Her back arched and I heard bones breaking. Snapping. Her scream cut off into a choked gurgle. Two othe
Chapter 3I didn't sleep. How could I?Every time I closed my eyes, I felt him. The bond hummed between us like a live wire. Constant. Inescapable. I could sense his location in the main lodge. Could feel the tension coiled in his body even from here.He wasn't sleeping either. The cabin was simple. A bed with rough blankets. A small table and chair. A tiny bathroom with a toilet and sink but no mirror. The walls were bare wood, gaps between some of the planks letting in slivers of moonlight.I sat on the bed, knees pulled to my chest, and tried to make sense of everything.Werewolves were real.Mate bonds were real. And I was tied to an Alpha who'd murdered his last mate.My hands were shaking. I pressed them against my knees but couldn't stop the trembling.A betrayal, Vera had said. Thirty-seven wolves dead. His sister. No wonder he looked at me like I was a curse.Maybe I was.A soft knock on the door made me jump."It's just me," a voice called. Female. Young. "I brought food."I
Chapter 2I had no choice but to follow him.The pain when I tried to turn back was unbearable. Like someone was ripping my chest open from the inside. So I followed. My legs ached. My lungs burned. He didn't slow down, didn't look back to see if I was keeping up. He moved through the forest like he owned it, like the trees bent to his will.Maybe they did. What did I know anymore?"Can you at least tell me your name?" I called out, stumbling over a root.He didn't answer."Or where we're going?"Still nothing.Frustration bubbled up in my chest, mixing with the fear. "Look, I get that you're mad about whatever this is, but I didn't ask for—"He stopped so suddenly I almost crashed into his back. When he turned, his eyes were that molten gold again. My breath caught."You want to know my name?" His voice was dangerously quiet. "Fine. I'm Kael. Alpha of the Shadowveil Pack. What's left of it, anyway."Alpha. The word sent a shiver down my spine."And where we're going," he continued, t
