Chapter 24

Renee's POV

I could finally open my eyes and the Doctor said I could probably go home today. I was finally awake long enough to talk to Amber. Either Amber or Beta Jonathan stayed with me at all times apparently even though I wasn't conscious most of the time. I felt bad for them, I knew it couldn't be comfortable, I told them they could leave, I didn't have to have a babysitter, but apparently, it was the Alpha's orders that I must have a babysitter at all times.

The thought of Alpha Ethan’s protectiveness made me smile, but I tried to tell myself it didn’t mean anything. If I was an Alpha and a member of my pack was attacked, I would also assign security.

I was finally feeling more myself, but I was still very tired. The doctor said the damage from the poison was extensive and it was expected that it would take time for me to recover. Honestly, he seemed surprised I was able to survive it at all.
