Chapter 47

Dark Witch Tree (Sorry, I couldn't think of a better name to give her, lol)

I was sitting on my porch enjoying the night. The owls were feasting, and I heard the snakes crawling around. When that girl came to me wanting some off-the-wall potion to make the king think that his mate was her, I thought she was insane. I've made this before long ago that the woman died because she didn't put enough in his drink. He was an alpha that everyone wanted, and she did, too. She decided to come to me and ask for it. I made it strong for her, warned her of the karma that it might cause, but she didn't care; she wanted it. I told her I wanted her first child, and she agreed. But things happened; she didn't put enough. They were in bed together when the potion wore off; the alpha killed her right there. Now, this girl comes to me asking for the same thing. I told her that I wanted to live in the castle, and she agreed. However, I had a feeling she wasn't going to live either. That girl is too careless; she didn't even care who was watching or if anyone saw her. I still remember when she came to my house.

Flashback

I was pulling some of the herbs I needed for my stew when she arrived. She was holding a handful of cash, tossing it at me.

"I heard that you can make potions for people. I need a potion that will make the man I want to think I am his mate; I need to look just like her." I wanted to laugh. I knew who his mate was; I knew Mercury and his family. They saved me a time or two, so I wasn't really that bad. I just didn't like going by the rules or like being ruled by others. I knew of King Lucas; he was nothing like his father. His father wanted to get rid of all others, including witches; he only wanted lycans around. But once he died, and Lucas took the throne, everything changed for the better. We are free to do what we want. She kept telling me that the woman who was his mate was all wrong for him; all she wanted was money and power. I knew that wasn't true; she was lying. She tossed me the cash, and I caught it before it hit the ground. Once it hit the ground, I didn't want it, so I caught it in my hand. I told her to come back in three days to get the potion; it will be ready, but I wanted something. Once she was pregnant with his child, I wanted to live in the castle. I said more, and she agreed to all of it. I knew she would get caught; it was just a matter of time. The girl's family was coming, including her grandparents. Do you think I wanted to get into that or even be around when they showed up? No, I didn't. The potion was almost done; it had to turn dark purple, but it wouldn't look like that once it's inside the drink. She will be here tomorrow; she better hope no one sees her. She's going to end up just like the other girl, but I can't tell her that she wouldn't listen even if I tried to tell her.

Kayla’s POV

It's been a day since Angie's father came and tried to threaten me. I've been waiting for something else to happen, but nothing ever did. I saw her come and go, and I even followed her once. She went to her dad's, stayed a few hours, then came back to the castle. I didn't like her one bit; she wanted Lucas. My lycan and wolf kept telling me she was up to something, so I wanted to keep an eye on her. But I couldn't do it all the time without being caught. We were now in the basement of the castle, and Lucas was showing me and Dad the old files of the old days. He even found a map of the old land. I couldn't wait to look at it; I loved old maps. You could find caves that were forgotten and old trails that no one ever goes to anymore, even underground entrances. I was looking through one of the old files when something caught my eye. It was an account; money was being transferred to another, but what caught my eye was the company. What was the B.W. company? The amount should have been flagged; it was over 21 million dollars. Looking over at Dad, I showed him what I found. He looked up at Lucas, showing him what I found.

“Who owns B.W. company, and what does B/W mean? What do they sell or do?” He looked confused because he had never seen this before. It looked old but not very old. He took a look at the old file, scrutinizing every detail.

“Where did you find this? Get the whole box; I'll take it to the office, and we'll all look at the files. I'm not even sure how they got down here; they're not even that old and shouldn't be down here.” We grabbed the few boxes, taking them to the office, but he decided there were too many. Sometimes we went to another large room. The guards opened the door, letting us inside.

“Get Corey, tell him not to say anything to anyone. Bring Sasha as well; tell them to get to the meeting room. They will know where to come.” The guards nodded, then headed toward their house. Lucas shut the door, so no one could just walk inside the room. We took every file out of the boxes and then began to look at every single one of them. With each file, we noticed the amounts got larger; someone was taking money out of the largest account for this company. He quickly got on the computer, inputting the information and then looked at the account where the money was being taken out of. Slamming his hand down on the table made the papers fall and the room shake. He was pissed off. Corey and Sasha walked into the room in a hurry, quickly shutting the doors.

"Someone's been hacking into our largest account for years, taking money out. We need to shut it down before it's empty; this is the kingdom's account for my people. Whoever has been doing this has also been trying to hack into others. What do we need to do, Corey?” I don't even think he knew what to do because no one knew who's doing it or how they are doing it. But when he started speaking, I knew right away that I judged him wrong. He knew exactly what to do. He got on the computer, changing every password there was on that thing. Then, he took all the money out of the largest account and created another account, but it was hidden. He put the money in another hidden account that looked like it was an overseas account. He then changed the password and information. This was just crazy; I've never seen anything like it. With each account, they could tell that someone had been trying to access it but failed many times. Then, we saw an account that said "Lycan account." What in the world is that? There was only five million in that one.

When he was done, I thought of something. I knew how to do hacking, but I also knew how to trick people into thinking they had accessed the account. Once they tried to take the money out, the system would go down, and then a virus would enter their computer. The virus would be so severe that the computer would shut down. There would be no way to get back on it. So when he moved, I sat down and did my thing. On each account, I put a virus. The only way around it is if you were the real account holder. Only the account holder would know all the passwords and information. It took a few hours to do it, but it was done. Finally, I stood up from the chair.

“Listen, the only way they can access the accounts now is if they actually know the passwords and information. I put a virus in each account. If the person tries to hack into it, it will appear that they have. Once they try to move the money, the site will shut down, and then a virus will attack their computer. The virus will be so severe that it will fry the computer. So now your accounts are safe. What we need now is for my sister to get here with Jasmine.”
