LOGINChapter 24
Kayla's POV When we finally stopped at the hotel, I was so relieved. I was exhausted after being on the road for so long. Don’t get me wrong, I like to travel, but dang, an eighteen-hour drive just wears you out. Dad had gotten everyone their own room, so I got to relax by myself. I like it that way. Taking a shower, I started to relax, drifting off to sleep. I began having this weird dream: I was running with a pack of wolves. I didn’t know where we were going until we stopped in front of other wolves that had red eyes, drooling out the mouth. There was something wrong with them, I thought. But then suddenly, they backed away, bowing their heads at us. “Leave them be, beast, or I'll have your heads,” I heard his voice. But who was it? When I turned to look at the person with that voice, I couldn’t see who it was. It was just crazy. I took a few steps forward to the voice and still could not see who it was. Then I heard another voice. “It's not time yet, Kayla. When it is, you will know who that person is.” I knew it wasn’t my wolf or lycan. But when I turned around, I was in a clearing, a clearing of green grass and flowers all around. What the hell is going on? I reached for a weapon, but I didn't have one on me, not even a damn knife. I didn't like this at all. “My child, you don’t need a weapon with me, sweetheart. I am the moon goddess. I brought you here to speak with you,” So, this was the moon goddess that I have heard so much about. Why did she come to me? I'm not in trouble, nor am I hurt. This was so confusing to me. But I guess I can't wake up until she is finished talking to me. So, I sat down on this bench that she patted with her hand. When I did, she sat beside me, looking around. “So, I'm assuming you want me to talk first. But I don't know what to say, Moon Goddess. I fight beside my family and for my family. We are heading to a castle that this guy claims to be the lycan king, but my grandfather is the lycan king. So how can he be when my grandfather is? He is putting our whole family in danger, and I don't like it one bit. How do I know he's telling the truth? He could be stealing his own money and saying someone else is doing it. He could be the one letting the rogues into this so-called Kingdom, letting them kill his people.” I could tell I had her thinking about things. She just sat there listening until I was done. Then she spoke in a calm, gentle tone. Her voice was beautiful; it was like she was talking to me as if I were really her child. I really didn't know what to say or think. Should I interrupt her and tell her everything she is saying is nonsense? I better not. I mean, this is the Moon Goddess, for crying out loud. She could do harm as much as she can do good. “My dear child, I know you are wondering all of this. To be honest, your grandfather was the king of mafia until he stepped down, giving your father the title. Now, your father is the king of mafia. Your grandfather was a troubled soul until I put Cheyenne in his path. You have no idea how much of a pain your grandfather was until he met her. They have been through so much, and on that day when he said those horrible things to her, yes, I was watching. I wanted to slap him in the back of his head. I had to bend rules to get them back together. But for you, my child, you will meet your mate sooner than you think, young lady. I kept Aurora and Queen asleep until now. It wasn't their time to wake up. Now it is. You will shift in a few weeks. You will not believe this man is your mate until you have shifted, and then you will fight the mate bond.” This was a weird conversation for me. I won't find out who my mate is until I have shifted, and then I would fight it. That's weird, but I guess everything she has told me was true. I wasn’t ready for a mate. I have heard so much that your mate will try to control you. Well, my dad doesn't try to control mom, but grandpa tries with grandma. I see so much that goes down that no one sees me watching. This will be my decision. No one will make me have a mate and then try to control me. I don't like it. She interrupted my thoughts, so I turned to listen to her. “Child, the only reason the mate will control you is if you let them. You are your own person, Taylor. Never let anyone try to change who you are. You're powerful, beyond anything. You just can't let your powers overcome you. You will need to train so you can learn to control them.” “Alright, moon goddess. If you are wanting me to train, I have no problem doing that. But whoever is my mate better look out, because I'm not needing one right now. I need to protect my family from this so-called king. Who knows, this might all be a setup,” The only thing she did was smile at me. She reached to move a few strands of hair from my face. “It's time to go back, my child. You need your sleep.” When she said that, I was back in my bed. I sat up in my bed, thinking all that just happened was just a dream. Yeah, we will see. I'm not that powerful, and I know I don’t have powers. If I did, how come I haven't felt them? Well, we will see when the time comes. The morning came way too fast when my phone started going off. I wanted to throw it across the room, but I remembered we were in a hotel resting. I got up, showered, and then got ready. It was time to go. Walking out of the hotel room, I saw everyone else in the halls ready to go. “We'll stop to get something to eat, but I'm wanting to hit the road so we can get there,” my dad had said. So now we are on the road again. I swear next time any of this crap happens, I think I will stay home. In the meantime in Paris, Hey guys, every now and then I'm going to write about Mercury and Cheyenne, though the book is about their son Kayla and his daughter. I just want you all to know what they are doing right now, so back to the book. Cheyenne's POV: We had a very long day sightseeing. We went shopping and just enjoyed the night. We knew there were werewolves and lycans here. We weren't going to stay long, but if they started trouble, then we would finish it. We went to see the Eiffel Tower. It was very beautiful. The shops that we went to were really nice. Some of the wolves looked at us, whispered, and then went on their merry way. I think it was time to head out. The next stop was Gatlinburg, Tennessee. I knew it wasn't another country, but I always wanted to go there. I had heard of many people going there for trips and rides. Maybe we could have some fun without worrying about getting into a fight. We were not welcome here. They made that pretty clear when they kept looking at us, hurrying away like they were scared of us. We were only here to relax, that's all. But I think it's time to head out. We packed our bags, then headed to the airport. I left a letter on the desk so they could read it. I didn't care who they were, but they could have been respectful. “I don't care who you are, or who you think you are, but when people come to stay at your hotel, you need to have respect for anyone. You're lucky I didn't burn the place down. Yes, we are Cheyenne and Mercury Black. Let that sink in, you sons of bitches,” I placed it down on the desk, got to the airport, got our tickets, and then had to sit there for a few hours until we were boarded. I had a feeling they read the letter because I felt fear in people. Good, let them be scared. Don't mess with us, and we won't mess with you. They finally called for boarding the plane. I was ready to get the hell out of here. These nasty people, thinking they're too good to talk to wolves outside their counter.Chapter 48William's POVWe woke up a little later than we should have. I was exhausted from the all-night driving to catch up with Luna and the others, so I slept in when I knew I shouldn't. I knew it was a bad idea, but I couldn't help it. Me being a leader to these guys was a bad idea on the Moon Goddess's part, but she insisted on this. I felt like I was letting her down. When we left the hotel room, I didn't know how long Luna was ahead of us, but I knew her car was not there. "Shit, I knew I shouldn't have slept in." But I also remembered we shouldn't be so close while she is driving. She would spot us and wonder why we are following them. We hurried to the car, then sped away from the hotel. I had to get the GPS out so I could see how far the castle was that Anna was talking about, her brother being there. It made me wonder if this guy is the real Lycan King. I remembered an old tale of a Lycan King. He only wanted the Lycans around; he wanted everything else dead. He wanted to
Chapter 47Dark Witch Tree (Sorry, I couldn't think of a better name to give her, lol)I was sitting on my porch enjoying the night. The owls were feasting, and I heard the snakes crawling around. When that girl came to me wanting some off-the-wall potion to make the king think that his mate was her, I thought she was insane. I've made this before long ago that the woman died because she didn't put enough in his drink. He was an alpha that everyone wanted, and she did, too. She decided to come to me and ask for it. I made it strong for her, warned her of the karma that it might cause, but she didn't care; she wanted it. I told her I wanted her first child, and she agreed. But things happened; she didn't put enough. They were in bed together when the potion wore off; the alpha killed her right there. Now, this girl comes to me asking for the same thing. I told her that I wanted to live in the castle, and she agreed. However, I had a feeling she wasn't going to live either. That girl is
Chapter 46Barry's POVIt had been a few days since I saw my daughter Angie. She told me she had plans for this little bitch, but what plans were they? I needed to let her know what my plans were before she did something stupid. I mind-linked her, telling her to get to my house now; she would be living with me so I could keep an eye on her. She didn't need to be living in the castle right now. I knew she didn't like the idea. I was waiting on the porch for her when she arrived, and she didn't have anything with her."Where the hell is all your stuff, Angie? I told you to bring it with you.""Dad, if they saw me take my things from my room and move in with you, they would think something is going on, and I don't need that right now. You said you had a better plan than I had. So before I tell you mine, you need to tell me yours. Besides, mine is already in progress." I couldn't believe my ears. What the hell was she doing that was already in progress?"Girl, I hope it's nothing stupid t
Chapter 45This is how William became part of the assassins.William's POVAs I slept beside my mate Anna, I came to realize something profound: I was part of a very strong family. It took me a while to understand this, but I am an integral part of this family. I often wondered how I could help them. While I slept, the moon goddess came to me. I knew she never appeared unless there was something important to convey. I found myself standing in the woods, arms crossed over my chest, simply observing. I was pondering why I was there until I heard her voice. I turned to see her: she had white hair cascading down her back, white eyes, and a white dress with a tribal mark on her forehead."I know you're wondering why I summoned you here, William, but I am forming an assassin group to aid Mercury's family. I know you well, William. It will be tough, but Anna's sisters, Luna and Kayla, are in dire need of help. A significant war is imminent as they seek to dethrone the king, who refuses to st
Chapter 44 Kayla's POVI knew I shouldn't have smacked him, but I was pissed off right now. How dare she kiss what is mine? I stormed outside; I wanted to go for a run. I decided to use my wolf form. This time it really didn't hurt that much. Once I was done shifting, I ran into the woods. It was amazing how it felt looking through my wolf eyes. Everything seemed different. I could see so many colors and smell the animals before I ran up to them. I jumped over a few logs, marked some of the trees. I was having so much fun. I even let Aurora hunt down a rabbit or two; she enjoyed the run as well. I found a small lake right in the middle of the land. I looked down into the water and noticed how silver my wolf was. I think I needed to shift into my lycan. If anyone saw me like this, they would probably try to kill me. So I shifted right into my Lycan. She roared and then sat down on a log. Her fingers went into the water, scooping up some water to drink. I looked down into the water and
Chapter 43Angie's POVThroughout the night, I kept hearing howling, screaming, and even some growling. What the heck was going on? I got up and looked out the window; oh, it was a full moon, a night when first shifters did their first shift. Smirking, I hope the one that shifts gets tortured from the pain like I did. Trust me, I felt like I was dying when I did my first shift. I don't like to shift that much, but when I do, I let my lycan run as long as she wants; it makes her strong. I looked further and saw Lucas picking someone up off the ground. Motherfucker, it's that girl's first shift, and he's carrying her. I bet they're going to mate and mark each other. Walking out of my room, I watched as he carried her to her room. He went in and out of there several times, bringing up a cupcake, then food to her. The last time, it took a while for him to come out. I thought that's when they were going to do it, but I didn't hear anything; these walls were soundproof, but every now and t
