Chapter 48

William's POV

We woke up a little later than we should have. I was exhausted from the all-night driving to catch up with Luna and the others, so I slept in when I knew I shouldn't. I knew it was a bad idea, but I couldn't help it. Me being a leader to these guys was a bad idea on the Moon Goddess's part, but she insisted on this. I felt like I was letting her down. When we left the hotel room, I didn't know how long Luna was ahead of us, but I knew her car was not there. "Shit, I knew I shouldn't have slept in." But I also remembered we shouldn't be so close while she is driving. She would spot us and wonder why we are following them. We hurried to the car, then sped away from the hotel. I had to get the GPS out so I could see how far the castle was that Anna was talking about, her brother being there. It made me wonder if this guy is the real Lycan King. I remembered an old tale of a Lycan King. He only wanted the Lycans around; he wanted everything else dead. He wanted to enslave the humans and make them Lycans. I thought he was dead. If this is his son and he's trying the same thing, I'm going to rip his head right off his shoulders. We had no idea where Luna was or how many hours she was ahead of us. All we knew was that we had to catch up with her to make sure that nothing happens to her. I just hope we make it on time because if we don't, shit is going to hit the fan and then splatter everywhere.

Luna's POV

I don't know why I was wide awake so early in the morning. I checked the time on my phone. It was only four in the morning, and I couldn't sleep. I think it was because I was excited to see my parents and my sister, and I wanted my sister safe. "Fine, if I can't sleep, we might as well get up and get going." It didn't take long for the girls to wake up when they heard me packing the clothes I took out of my duffle bag.

“Why are you up so early?” Renee asked me.

“I couldn't sleep. I was thinking we could hit the road and get there in a day and a half. My sister already shifted without me being there. I need to get there so I can see her wolf. I didn't want anyone to know she was both a Lycan and a wolf. I, as well as my parents, knew this. But my sister was special on a whole different kind of level. Her Lycan was an alpha Lycan, her wolf was silver. I've heard of silver wolves but never seen one. Silver wolves can be more powerful and have many powers they have to learn to control. If they don't, then the powers can be overwhelming. If anyone finds out who she is, they can take her and make her do their bidding. But I knew my sister; she's tough and will fight her way home. We were two hours away from the hotel now. I looked through my rearview mirror and noticed a car speeding up behind us. "Shit, what now?" I didn't know that someone was following us, so I pressed down on the gas, hoping I could outrun them. But the car was faster. I was ready for them to ram us, but nothing happened. The car passed us. I felt relieved because I thought we were going to get rammed, and then our car would crash with us inside of it. All I wanted was to get there and get things done.

Mercury POV

We were on the second plane now. They boarded us about an hour ago. We haven't moved an inch, and this was starting to piss me off because all I wanted to do was get home. My phone beeped, letting me know there was a message, so I checked it. It was Isaiah asking us, when we finally land, to make our way to the castle since he needed our help. I sighed, knowing he could handle this, but he's my son. If he needs me, I am going to be there for him. He must have a problem and not be able to handle it. I let Cheyenne see the message, and she nodded, telling me that's where we will be heading when we land. I knew we needed this trip to get away, but I also missed my family and my home. We were lucky to get on this plane. When we got to the airport, I could smell wolves all around. We stepped into the lobby of the airport to wait for our bags so we could grab them, then rushed to the other side of the airport to catch the second flight. When we got there, wolves saw us. They knew we weren't rogues, but they also knew we were new here. They thought they could intimidate us since we didn't live in this country. A guard came up to us, demanding to see our plane tickets. He said we didn't belong here, and he wanted us out.

"Sir, we came here to get on the second flight to go home. We're not here to stay. So if you excuse us, we are planning on leaving as soon as they call us to board the plane," your wife Cheyenne said. But he looked at her snickering.

"How about the two of you come with me before I handcuff you in front of everyone.” He didn't realize how tall I was. I let my lycan surface as I stood up. The man saw my eyes, and my teeth grew just a little as I looked down at this man.

"Do you really want to do this? We didn't come here for you to give us a hard time. All we want is to get home to our kids. So if you want to do this, we can do it. But once I'm let loose from my human form, I will destroy this place. So make your decision, asshole." I knew Shadow was pissed. All he wanted was to get home just like we do. The man backed away with fear in his face. He held his hand up to keep the others away from us. He hurried to leave, and then, a few minutes later, they called us so we could board the plane. I was so sick of these people. I would rather be home fighting rogues than be in this country, as my lycan had said. He went back into my head once we were sitting on the plane. Others boarded, and then they showed us what to do in case something went wrong with the plane. We put our seatbelts on while the plane was taking off. This was going to be a long ride, and I'm already hating it. Let's just hope that when the ride is done, we can get back home in one piece. I knew Cheyenne was ready to get back home. She was on edge because our grandkids were at some guy's castle trying to help him. Holding onto her hand, I ran my thumb across the top of it. She smiled at me, saying,

“Thank you. I just want to get home now. I feel something is wrong, and I want to get to my kids.” I knew once she started feeling this, there was no stopping her when she wants to get to the kids. Let's just hope nothing is wrong.

Lucas's POV

The next day, all I wanted was to try and win my mate's hand. I knew she was strong, and we would bump hands from time to time. But that doesn't mean this wouldn't work. We could be a good team once we are mates and marked or just marked so people will know we are taken. I knew for years that my family wanted me to find her. I didn't really want a mate. I thought I could rule my kingdom by myself. But once I found out about her, all I wanted was her. I didn't want anyone else. Maybe I could talk to her about marking, something tells me she's not ready to mate yet. The girl hates me. She thinks that I'm not the lycan king. Maybe when she marks me, she will figure it out. Maybe, but who knows. She might just punch me in the face if I talked to her about marking each other. But I'm going to take that chance. She was in the living room reading a book. I couldn't see the title since she shut the book, placing it down beside her when I walked into the room.

"So, Queen tells me that King wants us to mark each other. You do know there is no chance in h3ll I'm going to mate with you, not until I find out the truth about you. So why don't you come over here and we can do this marking thing." Is this girl for real? Who says I wanted to mate with her right away? I don't even know her. We need to get to know each other. And what I know of her is that she's crazy and bossy. And as soon as she realizes she can't do that with me, the sooner the better. Walking over to her, moving the book, and placing it down on the table, I noticed the title: “The Kings Before The King”. Oh, that's one that my mother wrote. But I won't tell her that. She doesn't need to know everything.

"Alright. I'm going to lick your marking spot to numb the pain. I'm not going to say it won't hurt, but it will numb some of the pain, and then you will feel me bite into your marking spot. Then you will do the same with me." Nodding, she moved her long hair to the side so I could do it.

"I'm going to hold you, so don't stiffen up. Trust me, holding her felt so good to me." Inhaling her scent, I licked her marking spot. I smirked when I heard her moan softly; I would admit it did turn me on. I sank my canines into her neck and marked her. I felt her stiffen, so I held her. I knew it hurt, so I tried to help her through it when I was done. I licked it to aid in healing. I didn't let go of her. I wanted to keep holding her, but she gently pulled away from me. Then, it was my turn. I got on my knees in front of her since I was too tall, and she held onto my neck with her arms. She did the same with me. Inhaling my scent, she licked my neck to numb it. No wonder why she moaned; it felt good. Then I felt her teeth go onto my neck, marking me. Damn, that hurt but felt good at the same time. When she was done, she licked it to aid in healing. We sat there just looking at each other, so close to kissing when Corey walked into the room.

Well, it's about damn time. We don't have time for foreplay. We have a problem,” I declared, standing up quickly.

“What's going on? What's the problem? Is it about the accounts?” I inquired.

“No, it's not about the accounts. It's about Angie. She got a potion from a dark witch to have you drink, to make you think she is your mate. She just called me about it. She might have already poured it in your drink. What the hell are we going to do?” I exclaimed as a loud growl emanated from behind us. My mate then stood up from the couch and walked over to us, looking beautiful even in her anger.

“I'll tell you what we are going to do. We are going to play along, gather information from her, and see if she is the one who was taking the money. But for now, we play along. Let's head to your office, pour a drink in your glass. I have a plan unless I decide to kill her first or lock her up for torture. I'm not entirely sure yet. But that b*tch is mine.”
