Chapter 25

Ishia POV

We were back on the road. All I wanted to do was get there and get things done. Ava had a little trouble last night getting sick in the middle of the night. I knew it was natural; she did this with Kayla. So, I hopped in the car to get some crackers for her. As long as she doesn't ask for pickles and donuts, I'm good. Yes, that's what she ate when she was pregnant with Kayla. She would put the pickle on top of the donut and eat it like that. I shivered at the thought. When I got back with the crackers and ginger ale, she was already asleep. I placed the crackers on the table and the drink on the table beside her. I got into bed but couldn't sleep. It kept going through my head how those rogues wanted to stop me from getting to my destination. I was proud of Kayla, but I swear she gets more dangerous by the day. She has a little of my dad and my mom inside her and a whole lot of me. Things can go wrong really fast, and I do not want that to happen.

When I did get some sleep, morning came way too fast. We showered and got ready to head out. I knew she was hungry, but what I really wanted to do was hit the road. I told her once we were on the road, we would stop somewhere to eat. She agreed she wanted to get there as well. I told Kayla the same thing; she agreed. I had a feeling she was tired of being on the road. I saw dark circles under her eyes; she didn't get too much sleep. She was probably up reading late like she always does. We finally got on the road. I saw a few wolves running in the woods. I had a feeling the so-called king sent them to watch over us, but then again, they could be rogues watching us to try to keep us from getting there. We were on the road for four hours when we finally stopped to eat. Ava was getting grumpy, and so was Kayla. We stopped at a Burger King. I mind-linked everyone in the other cars, letting them know where we were stopping. They gave me their orders. When I put the orders in the speaker, she was stunned. I bet she thought what I ordered was just for us. We pulled up at the window, giving her my payment for the food. Hawk pulled beside our car, and we passed him the drinks and then his food. The other car pulled up beside us. I gave them their drinks and food, and then we finally got ours. The girl in the window finally understood. I nodded at her and thanked her for the food and drinks. We parked under some trees to eat. Once done and everyone was happy, we hit the road again. We were only a few hours away. I was so sick of driving, but Ava didn't want to drive, and I really didn't want Kayla driving. I wanted to get there alive and safe. At the corner of my eye, I saw another wolf. I sped up, speeding as fast as I could go. This SUV can go 140 miles an hour, so it's pretty fast. I was almost out of their border when my phone started to ring. My phone hadn't rung since we left the pack grounds. Ava answered it while I was driving.

Hello, who's this?” When she answered the phone, I smirked. She's been listening when I answer calls from unknown numbers, but a weird voice came on the phone.

“Can you slow down? We are not rogues; we are trackers of the king. We were sent to make sure you arrive safely. If you keep speeding like that, the king will not be too happy with us if you arrive harmed.” I still did not understand how they got my number, but since I knew who they are now, I can slow down. However, I did reply to them; I didn't want Ava to hang up without me saying something to them.

“Well, then you should have made yourself known to us before you started to run beside the car. I assumed you know my number since you called my phone. If you don't mind, the GPS says we are two hours away, so I'm hanging up now.” Ava didn’t say anything else. She hung up right when this so-called tracker was saying something about who knows; I don't really care. So this jerk sent trackers to follow us. I'm really fed up with this nonsense. Should I stop the car, turn it around, and head back home, or should I just keep going and find out what he actually wants? I decided to keep going; we have already come this far. Why turn back now? It would just be a waste of money and gas anyway.

“I know what you're thinking, my love, but if we turn back now, it would just be a waste of time and gas, honey. Let's just keep going and see what this jackass has to say to us. Let's do what we need to do and then leave.” She was right; let's just get there, do what we need to do, and then go home. I looked into my rearview mirror at our daughter. She was looking out the window. I wonder what she sees. I knew she was looking at the wolves running in the woods, but what else is she seeing? I bet she sees a whole lot more. I knew she has powers; her sight can see things that no one else does. I noticed that when she was just a child, just a little girl. We had company; people came to ask for help with their pack. They needed money because their houses were crumbling down. I gave them twenty grand and told them they had three years to pay me back. This would give them enough time to build, get everything done, and then work on paying me back. They did pay back the money. However, my daughter saw something. She told me that rogues were going to their pack to burn it down and take over. A year later, the rogues did come to try that, but we were there to stop them. If it weren't for my daughter's powers, their pack would have been burnt down. I haven't asked if she had seen anything else; I'm sure if she had seen anything else, she would have told us. We stopped for gas once more and then got back on the road. I can't wait to get there; I would love to get out of this car for a bit.

Chapter 48William's POVWe woke up a little later than we should have. I was exhausted from the all-night driving to catch up with Luna and the others, so I slept in when I knew I shouldn't. I knew it was a bad idea, but I couldn't help it. Me being a leader to these guys was a bad idea on the Moon Goddess's part, but she insisted on this. I felt like I was letting her down. When we left the hotel room, I didn't know how long Luna was ahead of us, but I knew her car was not there. "Shit, I knew I shouldn't have slept in." But I also remembered we shouldn't be so close while she is driving. She would spot us and wonder why we are following them. We hurried to the car, then sped away from the hotel. I had to get the GPS out so I could see how far the castle was that Anna was talking about, her brother being there. It made me wonder if this guy is the real Lycan King. I remembered an old tale of a Lycan King. He only wanted the Lycans around; he wanted everything else dead. He wanted to

Chapter 47Dark Witch Tree (Sorry, I couldn't think of a better name to give her, lol)I was sitting on my porch enjoying the night. The owls were feasting, and I heard the snakes crawling around. When that girl came to me wanting some off-the-wall potion to make the king think that his mate was her, I thought she was insane. I've made this before long ago that the woman died because she didn't put enough in his drink. He was an alpha that everyone wanted, and she did, too. She decided to come to me and ask for it. I made it strong for her, warned her of the karma that it might cause, but she didn't care; she wanted it. I told her I wanted her first child, and she agreed. But things happened; she didn't put enough. They were in bed together when the potion wore off; the alpha killed her right there. Now, this girl comes to me asking for the same thing. I told her that I wanted to live in the castle, and she agreed. However, I had a feeling she wasn't going to live either. That girl is

Chapter 46Barry's POVIt had been a few days since I saw my daughter Angie. She told me she had plans for this little bitch, but what plans were they? I needed to let her know what my plans were before she did something stupid. I mind-linked her, telling her to get to my house now; she would be living with me so I could keep an eye on her. She didn't need to be living in the castle right now. I knew she didn't like the idea. I was waiting on the porch for her when she arrived, and she didn't have anything with her."Where the hell is all your stuff, Angie? I told you to bring it with you.""Dad, if they saw me take my things from my room and move in with you, they would think something is going on, and I don't need that right now. You said you had a better plan than I had. So before I tell you mine, you need to tell me yours. Besides, mine is already in progress." I couldn't believe my ears. What the hell was she doing that was already in progress?"Girl, I hope it's nothing stupid t

Chapter 45This is how William became part of the assassins.William's POVAs I slept beside my mate Anna, I came to realize something profound: I was part of a very strong family. It took me a while to understand this, but I am an integral part of this family. I often wondered how I could help them. While I slept, the moon goddess came to me. I knew she never appeared unless there was something important to convey. I found myself standing in the woods, arms crossed over my chest, simply observing. I was pondering why I was there until I heard her voice. I turned to see her: she had white hair cascading down her back, white eyes, and a white dress with a tribal mark on her forehead."I know you're wondering why I summoned you here, William, but I am forming an assassin group to aid Mercury's family. I know you well, William. It will be tough, but Anna's sisters, Luna and Kayla, are in dire need of help. A significant war is imminent as they seek to dethrone the king, who refuses to st

Chapter 44 Kayla's POVI knew I shouldn't have smacked him, but I was pissed off right now. How dare she kiss what is mine? I stormed outside; I wanted to go for a run. I decided to use my wolf form. This time it really didn't hurt that much. Once I was done shifting, I ran into the woods. It was amazing how it felt looking through my wolf eyes. Everything seemed different. I could see so many colors and smell the animals before I ran up to them. I jumped over a few logs, marked some of the trees. I was having so much fun. I even let Aurora hunt down a rabbit or two; she enjoyed the run as well. I found a small lake right in the middle of the land. I looked down into the water and noticed how silver my wolf was. I think I needed to shift into my lycan. If anyone saw me like this, they would probably try to kill me. So I shifted right into my Lycan. She roared and then sat down on a log. Her fingers went into the water, scooping up some water to drink. I looked down into the water and

Chapter 43Angie's POVThroughout the night, I kept hearing howling, screaming, and even some growling. What the heck was going on? I got up and looked out the window; oh, it was a full moon, a night when first shifters did their first shift. Smirking, I hope the one that shifts gets tortured from the pain like I did. Trust me, I felt like I was dying when I did my first shift. I don't like to shift that much, but when I do, I let my lycan run as long as she wants; it makes her strong. I looked further and saw Lucas picking someone up off the ground. Motherfucker, it's that girl's first shift, and he's carrying her. I bet they're going to mate and mark each other. Walking out of my room, I watched as he carried her to her room. He went in and out of there several times, bringing up a cupcake, then food to her. The last time, it took a while for him to come out. I thought that's when they were going to do it, but I didn't hear anything; these walls were soundproof, but every now and t
