Chapter Twelve

It's been a few days since I had left the manor, trying to get back to normal but everything feels wrong. With everything that has happened, I have gotten the strange feeling that I no longer belong here. I wanted to take a couple days to myself so I could figure out what I want and it hasn't been very successful.

"It's because you belong with your mate," Aala growled, irritated.

She's been very short with me the last few days since we left Declan, I assumed from the mate-bond. I could feel the bond course through my veins always, especially with his mark on my neck and it only made me ache to be with him again.

"Okay, Riley. What gives? You've been walking around like a zombie the last couple of days." Page says to me.

"Nothing, it's nothing." I say, tracing my fingers along the mark underneath my collar.

"Did Declan break up with you?" She asked, looking at me skeptical.

"No, nothing like that. I'm just going through a lot right now."
