Chapter Thirteen

My eyes fluttered open slowly as I took in the sights of the bedroom. The sun was shining through, making the room seem as bright as ever. 2 sets of eyes are on me and my face instantly flushed.

"You have really got to stop trying to get yourself killed, Riley," Elsie says, cupping my cheeks.

"W-what happened?" I say weakly, bringing my hand up to my bandaged neck.

"You were attacked. Luckily I think your wolf kept you alive," Lauralie responds, holding my hand.

"Where's Declan?" I ask, realizing that he wasn't in the room.

He entered the room as if he had heard me, followed by Jesse hot on his trail. A worried look was brushed across both of their faces and I can tell something isn't right.
