Chapter 5

"HELP!"

Christopher knew this was not a good situation by any means. Anyone could recognize a shake down of this sort. The small group was surrounded and on top of it two of them seemed to be non combatants. That left only the two fighters standing in the front. As if things weren't stacked against the outnumbered group as it was. The fighters would have to defend themselves while also trying to protect dead weight. They may stand a better chance if they were alone with a single hand tied behind their backs.

This situation... Christopher knew that this was the opportunity of a life time! It was the moment that one could set themselves above the rest, to put it all on the line for the greater good! To conquer ones fears and rise above evil! To be a hero!

"Screw this." Mumbled Christopher. There was just one problem with that. Christopher had no urge to become a hero. It was the kind of thing that would just complicate his life or most likely end it. Either way was guaranteed to make his day far more complicated then it already had been. As he began to walk past the alley as quietly and nonchalant as possible, out of the corner of his eyes he saw the girl in the hood lock on to him. 'Shiiiiit' he thought to himself. 'Don't make eye contact, don't make eye contact!....Shit... We made eye contact.'

"Help!" she screamed again looking directly at him now. One of the men surrounding them turned back to look in the direction she was facing.

"Hey you!" The man glared at Christopher. 'Oh come on how is my luck always so damn terrible!'

"Oh why hello there friendly, absolutely non suspicious looking people. I didn't see you there!" At this point in time everyone from both sides turned to look at Christopher some of them mouths a gap. ' Hey now I don't think I deserve those looks.'

"Come here now." ordered what Christopher was going to just refer to as Big boss man number one! Christopher sighed and reluctantly took a few steps into the alley before coming to a stop again and put his hands up in front of him.

"Well now that just isn't necessary. I Can tell that you guys are just a bunch of friends that is having a nice, and peaceful reunion after being apart for many years. I would just feel down right guilty if I got in the way of that. How could I possibly be so rude? So with that being said I'll just take my leave."

"Hold up!" yelled Big boss man number one. He turned back to some of his comrades and made a slit throat gesture with his back turned to Chris "Bring him here" one of his men nod his head understanding the meaning.

"Oh its so kind of you to invite others to your reunion but I don't t want to intrude." At this some of the thugs began to laugh even.

"Haha you sure we have to, I kind of like this guy." Most of them were laughing at this point.

"We could keep him around for entertainment at the very least. Let's get him drunk then I bet we'll really get a good laugh."

"Oh well I do know some good jokes. Have you heard the one abo-"

"You damn coward!" cried out the hooded girl. 'Well that's kind of harsh. Although I suppose not completely uncalled for.'

"Hey that's kind of rude don't you think! I just don't want any trouble!" As the two continued to bicker back and forth the goon approaching Christopher had already pulled out a knife behind his back and was rapidly getting closer and closer.

"Oh hi friend, I don't want any trouble really. How about a good hand shake and we part as unlikely friends?"

shtck.

Most the people there were able to recognize the sound of a blade being stabbed into another person. Big boss man number one turned back to the smaller group. "Now see if you just cooperate we won't have to worry about any other unnecessary casualties."

While usually the group would feel guilty of needless death, especially of some random civilian walking past...

"I would hardly call a person like that a casualty." muttered a middle aged man standing guard in front of the girl. " There's no way scum like that is a casualty of any kind."

"Yea, I can accept that one mumbled the other man."

"No great loss." It seemed nobody was bothered by this one bit.
