Chapter thirty-six: Breaking Up

Matt and Stella sat on the bed near Ian who stared at them with heavy eyes. “My baby boy.” Stella cried, kissing his little hands. “I’m not a baby boy, mom.” They all laughed, except for Matt.

“Little man, would you mind telling me what happened at home? How did you eat a peanut cake?” He stroked his son’s hair. “Matt, it’s not the right time to ask him now.” Stella whispered.

“I need to know, Stella.”
