Azlynn’s P.O.V.
The world around me blurred, making me oblivious of my surroundings, Xavion’s voice yanked me back to five years. The scenes of my heartbreak flashed across my mind, zipping my lips. His voice resounding in my ears after so long stirred something deep in my heart, making me shudder.
Seething in anger, that enraged star lashed out furiously.
“I took pity on your small company, giving you a chance to become famous overnight.
But you and your boss are ingrates. No one will ever sign with you.”
During his verbal onslaught, Daleyza showed me business news on her iPad, the headline of the article published one hour ago broke my trance.
“CA cooperation, a group of unprofessional rude ladies!”
What?
I didn’t agree to sign Xavion, so he called his media touts to publish fake news about my company?
How dare he?
The tender emotions I felt a moment ago converted into a nuclear explosion, coursing poisonous venom through my veins. So, when he said,
“Is that how you treat your partners?” I snapped at him, “Mr. Xavion, you aren’t our client. We have no obligations to dance at your orders like others.”
“Crap!”
Daleyza threw her hands in the air, panicking hard. She picked up a cushion from the nearby sofa, hitting my head to control my tongue. But it was in vain!
If Xavion was an Alpha, I wasn’t an inferior omega, he should watch his tongue before others.
Blinded by my rage, I didn’t notice the complete silence on the other side and scoffed.
“CA cooperation believes in professionalism. We have promised to deliver our best services to the players we will sign.
And what a coincidence! You aren’t in our list, Mr. Xavion.”
With that, I disconnected the call, huffing in anger.
“Such an entitled jerk!
How can he even think that I will work with him after everything?”
Daleyza and Hayley gasped as my wolf pushed through the restraints, cursing him. I regretted the moment when I decided to part ways silently after break-up. I should have destroyed his football career to take revenge on him.
My nonstop train of regret was halted by Daleyza squeal, she clutched her chest.
“So, it’s true!
You have really dated Alpha Xavion Waller before, Ann”
Howard had shared the sensitive information about my past, giving Daleyza the duty to protect me from any ugly confrontation. But she believed him now when I mentioned my stupidity of loving that egoistic Alpha.
Glancing at her fear-stricken face for a response, I was interrupted by Hayley’s innocent query, she asked me.
“Mommy, is he a bad uncle? Are we in danger?”
Goddess!
Driven by my rage, I didn’t choose my words wisely in front of my child and terrorized her sensitive soul. So, I blocked my enraged wolf and kissed Hayley’s forehead, assuring her.
“Just relax, my precious honey. It’s a simple work issue. Mommy’s new job is difficult.”
Hayley’s tiny brain processed this information and gave it an entirely different meaning, she said,
“Hayley is a bad girl. I am sorry, Mommy. I didn’t mean to bother you.
We can go back and live in the Palace. I won’t demand anything.”
“My little baby!” Hayley’s words melted my heart; I pulled her closer to my chest.
“It’s nothing like that, my precious honey. You are the best girl in the world. Don’t worry, I will manage everything.”
“But how?”
My statement was cut short by Daleyza’s panicked voice, she was pacing back and forth impatiently.
“You have insulted the godfather, the big boss of Lake City. All sponsors, investors, media houses, everyone is in Alpha Xavion Waller’s hands.
He must have begun carnage until now. Your business has ended before starting, Ann.”
After spending a happy moment with Hayley, the haze of anger cleared from my brain, and it picked up its service, only to tremble my heart.
In just one phone call, I had dug my own grave and jumped into it willingly after attending my funeral. My professional life was concluded because of my idiocy.
“What to do now?” became the only query in my mind, hammering my head relentlessly. My airways constricted to imagine the consequences of my actions. Xavion wouldn’t digest his insult so easily and shut off my company for sure.
Gosh! What would Howard say?
And most importantly, how would my dad react to it? How would he shame me for wasting money and jeopardizing Howard’s business?
Daleyza acted like my advisor in this calamity and advised me. “Call, Xavion and apologize to him, Ann. Perhaps, he will forgive you.”
Hell no!
I might haven’t see him for years, but one thing about him was a universal truth: There was no word of forgiveness in his dictionary. That hot-headed Alpha believed in bloodshed and vengeance only. He had beaten several players after the match in case of losing before.
Cursing myself, I was at loss of words to voice my dreads; however, the caller tune of my cell phone sliced through the air, diverting my attention.
Daleyza jumped in glee to see the caller’s ID.
“Thank Goddess! It’s Xavion!” And attended the call.
“I apologize for my secretary’s rude behavior. Please forgive us, Mr. Xavion …”
Her unhinged apology was responded to by a vexed growl, Xavion questioned her.
“What’s with the system of your company, Miss Daleyza? Why are you receiving your secretary calls?”
Daleyza quickly put the call on speakerphone and apologized again.
“Sorry, Mr. Waller! Ann is with me. I am firing her for her impudence.”
Daleyza grabbed her ears for apology and eyed me to speak as Xavion said,
“Your company is hardly a few hours old, and you are already dismissing your employees. How can you do that?
If you want your company to survive in the business hub, you will not fire Ann, Miss Daleyza.”
“T-That’s so generous of you, Mr. Waller.” As it seemed that Xavion was ready for negotiations, I tried my best to sound like a pitiful poor secretary, whose family was trying to make both ends meet. Like he was the only savior for me.
“I sincerely appreciate your kindness, Mr. Waller. You are indeed a benevolent man.”
Although these fake words of admiration made me barf, I had to endure it for my future. I couldn’t go back to my dad’s Palace as a failure so soon.
Xavion was satisfied as I spoon-fed his ego and spoke casually.
“It’s not a big deal, Miss Ann. I know that your boss has released an outrageous statement to impress the media, forcing you to be rude to me. It’s her fault!”
His ‘employ following orders’ approach gave us a clean chit miraculously, he offered out of the blue.
“Honestly speaking, I don’t like your boss, Miss Ann. So, let’s talk about business now.
Before the official start of the football season, I have arranged a Christmas party for sponsors and investors, inviting the cream of the Lake city.
I will be honored if you come to my party ...”
This sudden invitation sucked all the air from my lungs, pounding my heart against my rib cage. I was speechless due to one eighty-degree change in Xavion’s behavior.
He was undoubtedly a nut job, a ruthless, and vengeful spirit for his enemies. Then how could he revolutionize so much in just five years and forgive me promptly?
Bella peeked through the dark curtain of restraints and passed a snarky remark like a mean bully.
“His Luna must have taught him humanity, which you couldn’t do, dear Ann. That’s the magic of mate-bond!”
Bella always knew how to pinch my aching nerve exactly for a massive assault and hurt me. I was unable to utter a word after that painful reminder.
Sensing my unease, Daleyza continued the conversation respectfully.
“That’s a one in millions opportunity, Mr. Waller. We will definitely come to the party.
I can’t express my heartfelt gratitude for your favor ...”
Xavion heard her gratitude with complete silence, then his mysterious tone made me feel a cold pit in my stomach as he addressed me directly.
“Miss Ann, I would love to discuss business with you over whiskey. It’ll be fun to see you again ...”

Azlynn’s P.O.V. What? Again? Xavion’s meaningful tone sent shivers down my spine, puzzling me. I couldn’t ask for clarification as he disconnected the call right after mentioning my favorite alcohol. What was he trying to implore? Did he? Utterly panicked, I consulted my new buddy, seeking second opinion. Perhaps I was overthinking that Xavion had recognized my voice. However, Daleyza wasn’t convinced at all. She dismissed my point immediately. “How can Xavion remember anything about you, Ann? It’s been five years!” She justified her assumptions with solid reasoning. “Even if Xavion dated you, you must be one of his countless flings before mating like a typical Alpha. Not to mention, he was the most popular boy in the university, Ann. He must have forgotten all the frivolous women after meeting his Luna. You are aware of the importance of a soulmate; his Luna must be everything for him now.” As she started advocating for heavenly mate-bond, I got irritated, this hateful
Azlynn’s P.O.V.“Yes, I am Ann!”As I raised my head to face that successful football star, our eyes locked for a moment, prickling goosebumps over my skin. I only felt resentment for Xavion, who was at the top of his game after breaking my heart. The karma didn’t work for such people at all!He cheated on me and then easily avoided its consequences, it was true that bad people never got punished in this world. Pushing back the wave of hatred and animosity, I lowered my head to acknowledge his Alpha status, continuing my omega act.“Thanks for inviting us, Mr. Waller!”Luckily, Daleyza metalized out of thin air, sparing me from the misery of talking to my ex. She introduced our company at length. “Hello, Mr. Waller. We are honored to be a part of your Christmas party. Our company is a one-stop solution for all your requirements.”During her formal speech, I noticed the evanescence of a friendly smile from Xavion’s face. He appeared apathetic and nonchalant while listening t
Azlynn’s P.O.V.“How dare you use your Alpha command on me?”Hearing Xavion’s order, Bella was out of control, she clawed my defense walls tirelessly.“Let me free, Ann. I will show him who is the Alpha here.”A cold feeling sprinted from my feet to the tip of my head, making me shudder. I tried hard to cage my Alpha wolf. Usually, Bella was calm and supportive, happily becoming my partner in crimes. But Xavion’s betrayal had bruised her Alpha ego, fireworks were bound to happen after this encounter. Trembling in fear, I grabbed the cup slowly, delaying the whole process just in case Daleyza remembered me and came to my rescue. However, a melodious tone softly interrupted our conservation.“Let her be, Xavion. Don’t force her.”That intruder was none other than Valerie, whose face was darkened by her mate’s nescience. She glared at a mere omega with him.“Perhaps, Miss Ann is hiding her ugly face behind this mask. We should be compassionate towards our guests, praising them
Azlynn’s P.O.V. “Where?” My sudden squeal alerted my brother, he jumped up and sprinted towards the direction I pointed out. Clutching Hayley to my chest, I took out pepper spray from my purse, ready to face any danger. The scent of a mated wolf was the only clue about the intruder, as all the servers in the restaurant were unmated, revealing the identity of dangerous man. Luckily, it didn’t take long for my brother to finally come back with the culprit. “Here’s the spy!” Grabbing a squirming man’s collar, Howard growled, demanding an explanation. “You aren’t in the list of the restaurant’s staff. Who sent you? What are you doing here?” Howard’s royal tone reverberated in the surroundings, shaking that man like a dried leaf. He immediately bared his neck in submission. “I am here to deliver crackers from a retail store, Sir. Please spare my life.” The band of being mated, and this answer evaporated our worry in thin air, he was a mere delivery boy who panicked to se
Azlynn’s P.O.V. The fear swirled in my guts as my heart raced, the feeling of distress crushed my soul. A few days of my stay in Lake city and I was in trouble, breaking the records of bad luck. However, staying calm was the need of the hour! I tried to contact my brother through our link, but my only savior was long gone. It was impossible to mind-link him due to the distance, so unfortunately, I was on my own. I couldn’t afford to waste time in redundant thoughts of being agitated and petrified. My businesswoman mode was activated when I put my daughter’s safety before mine, guessing the true motive behind this abduction. As most kidnappings were for ransom, my first guess was about money. But the driver didn’t pay any heed to my offer, confusing me. The opportunity to make quick bucks in one night was the more appropriate explanation, it baffled me that he wasn’t interested. So, Bella gave this matter some thought, her conclusion dawned on me. “Ignore him, Ann. He is ju
Azlynn’s P.O.V. “I want to stay with my mommy.” “She needs rest. Go and play with other kids!” “No!” Firstly, I thought that my mind was playing tricks on me as these hushed whispers slithered into my ears. They were becoming more clear with every passing moment. My eyelids were glued, it was so difficult for me to open my eyes, but the worry trailing the concerned words clenched my heart. Using every speck of strength, I tried several times, finally able to open my eyes. But the sharp brightness in the surroundings closed them instantly. Blinking rapidly, I was trying to adjust with the light when a cute tone rejuvenated my soul. “Mommy, you are up!” “Hayley!” The happiness of my precious honey’s voice made me forget everything. I didn’t even question how I reached into this hospital’s room, and grabbed her delicate hands. “Are you alright? Did you eat anything?” Hayley hurriedly hopped on the bed, circling her arms around my neck. She looked at me lovingly. “
Azlynn’s P.O.V. “That insolent jerk! What else is remaining now?” After calling me a slut, Xavion left me raging in fury, his audacity to connect multiple boyfriends to my name was indeed atrocious. Like, how could he even question me about my personal life after five years? He accused me of cheating, trusted his beloved Luna blindly, and still, I was the bad one to move forward in my life? Unbelievable! Swearing to cancel his contract with my company, I called Daleyza to prepare a notice to deliver after the new year. I couldn’t stand the sight of that idiot anymore. Moreover, I specifically instructed her to not inform Howard about the abduction, and filed a police complaint. However, it was in vain. My brother’s spy, Daleyza, reported to him without thinking about the consequences, Howard was growling over the phone. “That’s why I don’t wish to leave you alone, little princess. What if you got hurt? What would we do if your identity was exposed?” In addition to
Azlynn’s P.O.V. Social media trial? You gotta be kidding me! Although I hadn’t used social media in the previous five years, I was roughly aware about the hazards of these platforms. Valerie was threatening to throw me in the world of relentless bullying where merciless netizens were hungry for a minor issue, venting out their daily life’s frustration over the internet. The language used on these sites wasn’t for women as it could range from the curses to the personal attacks, ruining their public image and integrity altogether. Not to mention the craze of fans, they never forgave any negativity in their idol’s life. As Valerie was up for a battle, I didn’t hold back and said, “You are threatening me for nothing. I don’t have any contact with your husband. You know, you are an insecure woman, randomly blaming others for your marriage problems. I asked you to speak good before my child, and you started spewing out nonsense, insulting your mate by slandering his good
Azlynn’s P.O.V.The ground below me shook as I leaned against the wall, hearing Alicia’s absurd speech. She continued without any hesitation.“I haven’t seen any case of one-sided marking in the mate-bond. Azlynn is depriving King Xavion of his basic rights. So, scaring her was the only method left. But now it seems that we have miscalculated her daring. She didn’t mark him, despite the terrifying story of the late Vampire King.”The sudden stab of betrayal brutally tore my insides apart, making me wince in pain. I didn’t know whether to scream or cry after seeing the true face of my so-called friend. Instead of understanding my situation, Alicia teamed up against me, taking advantage of my trust. It never occurred to me she would be like others as well. The heat burned behind my eyes as I blinked away my tears and spun on my heels, leaving silently. This part of the conversation was enough for me to realize that I was being played. There was no need for more eavesdropping after
Azlynn’s P.O.V.But that wasn’t just a kiss!Xavion’s touch wasn’t gentle, but it was a war, biting, desperate, and possessive. My back slammed against the cool wall as his mouth claimed mine, his tongue sliding against mine in a way that made me ache for more. I couldn’t help but kiss him back with the same passion, losing myself in the fiery temptation of the bond.He didn’t stop at the kiss and slid his hands under my shirt, tracing my skin roughly. I gasped as he curled his fingers over my rib cage and dragged my shirt over my head in one swift motion. Bella howled in my mind, responding to the mating call enthusiastically. I whispered, already leaning in to resume kissing.“Don’t you think it’s wrong?”“To hell with wrong!” Xavion stripped off his shirt and threw it on the floor, grabbing my waist after that short break. His hot breath fanning my neck shot delicious sparks directly to my core as his canines grazed over the mark, curling my toes. My fingers tangled in his h
Azlynn’s P.O.VI swallowed hard as the weight of it all settled in my chest, realizing the seriousness of the situation. Behind this innovative method of presentation, Xavion wasn’t just asking me to mark him, but to make a statement. He wanted me to declare that our bond was forever, unshakable in the face of difficulties. The feeling of something electric buzzing under my skin pulled me towards him, making me lose my control. Xavion’s gaze softened, as though he could already sense the shift in my heart. He straightened up and clicked the button on the remote.“That’s the final slide, my Queen!”Slide 4: The intimacyA picture of two wolves curled under the moonlight appeared on the screen. The mating marks illuminating over their furs were a symbol of commitment according to Xavion as he spoke.“This photo speaks for itself, Azlynn. Marking is more than a bite; it’s an unbreakable promise between two hearts. A vow that no matter what, we will always find each other, even in t
Azlynn’s P.O.V.“How is that cross mark connected to my marking decision?”Alicia’s warning flabbergasted me. It didn’t make any sense that my personal affairs could affect other people too. Xavion was my partner in mate-bond, so if she had said that his life was in danger, I would have believed it. But this was too much.Unlike my perplexed state, Alicia was quite confident. She didn’t hesitate to elaborate on this topic further.“See, little princess. Your mate is the King of a nation. His every aspect of life is directly connected to his kingdom’s welfare. He marked the prophecy girl, taking risk against the decision of fate. But he couldn’t get the protection of the mate-bond because you didn’t mark him.And now it’s almost six weeks after your marking, the downsides of such mating are coming to surface.”She gave me the reference of the history book (I hadn’t read it yet) and continued,“Last time when these marks appeared, the danger of the devil led to havoc in the world
Azlynn’s P.O.V. Although my query was directed towards the lack of seriousness, it erupted chaos in the room. The first one to react was Alicia, she rushed to my side. “A red cross? What are you talking about, Your Highness?” Baffled by her response, I gawked at Xavion and Alvaro, who appeared equally surprised. “Where did you see the cross, Azlynn? Was it in the mystical boundary?” Instead of investigating the attackers, they showered me with queries, as if I had committed a crime by bringing up this issue. I spoke in annoyance. “Why are you all acting so surprised? Didn’t you notice the glowing red cross on wolves’ foreheads?” It was hard to miss such an obvious detail during a long fight. But Xavion spoke immediately. “Their foreheads were plain, Azlynn. There was no red mark on them. I would have seen it if it were there.” The worry etched on their faces narrated a different tale, like they were concealing some horrifying details from me. I ignored those buddies and asked
Azlynn’s P.O.V. The scene in front of me changed so quickly that it felt like I was hallucinating. Xavion’s black wolf was attacked from all the sides, punishing him for protecting me from their deadly claws. He faced them bravely and sank his sharp teeth deep into one attacker’s neck, ending his life in a single jerk. That ruffian howled in pain and collapsed, sending a jolt of electricity on the battlefield. Another wolf growled, “You are the north king, yet your citizens aren’t safe from your bloodlust. It’s a solid proof that you aren’t fit to sit on the throne, Alpha Xavion.” They challenged Xavion’s rule over the north kingdom, coming from every side. Feeling terrified, I tried to raise or shift back to my human form to assist Xavion in the fight. At least I could push wolves away when he was focusing on one. But to my dismay, the mystical barrier was thick around us, choking off my strength. All I could do was to watch them fighting and howling continuously. Xavion was cal
Azlynn’s P.O.V.Well, I didn’t see that coming! The mating traditions were sacred among the werewolves. A man had to prove that he could provide and protect his mate, while a woman had the job of making a warm home and bear pups, balancing the harmony of nature. But I hadn’t imagined that Xavion would believe in such things. Not only did he hunt a deer, but now he was expecting me to accept his offer and eat his prey. I was stunned speechless, facing this unpredicted challenge. Even Bella was at a loss for words.“Ann, what to do now?”Although she was smitten by Xavion’s charm, praising his hunting skills, she couldn’t bear to touch the dead deer as well. Bella hadn’t seen a dying animal in front of her eyes, let alone eating the uncooked meat drenched in blood, fur, and dirt. But Zion was purring softly, melting her heart with his pitiful begging. So, Bella tried to touch that motionless deer, closing her eyes. The blood staining her white fur nauseated her to the core as sh
Azlynn’s P.O.V.“This is unacceptable, Azlynn. I thought you were a sweet girl ...”It was lady Sabrina who barged inside, screaming at me. Her speech was halted by the scene in the room as she averted her face quickly.“My apologies. I didn’t mean to disturb you.”Judging from her fury, I was about to get a good scolding, but her facial expressions changed completely after a quick glance around. She swiftly approached me, gasping in disbelief.“What’s wrong with the younger generation? Is it a bedroom or a battleground?”Sabrina didn’t let me explain a thing and barked orders like the Queen she was, bossing me around as well. She asked the maids to clean up the mess and prepare a bath for me.“Azlynn, take a warm bath and call me when you are done. I will apply the ointment on your wounds. It doesn’t look good.”Bella was exhausted after the long night, so she fell asleep a few minutes ago. After vigorous physical activity and mystical pressure of the mate-bond, my wolf could
Xavion’s P.O.V. “Here’s a hearty breakfast for our newlywed groom.” As I didn’t go to the dining hall, Beta Alvaro came with a tray of food in my office. I had already set my things in my new home. Smiling widely, Alvaro’s voice was full of mischief as he said. “Commonly, people only get one chance to experience a first chance mate. And you have done it twice. Don’t be shy and share your feelings with forever singles. Perhaps the Moon Goddess will take pity on us too.” Speaking nonstop, he set the table and sniffed the air continuously. I ignored his cheerful banter and sipped my morning whiskey, looking out of the window. The lifeless snow covers outside deeply resonated with the emptiness of my heart. My no-lift mood soon garnered Alvaro’s attention, he dragged a chair and sat in front of me. “What’s the matter, Xavion? You seem disturbed.” After last night’s bizarre events, any sensible man would be hell worried. It was impossible for me to wrap my head around the reality of
