THIRD PERSON'S POV

It took Xavier well over a minute to understand Myra’s statement. And when he did, he still found himself hesitating to reassure her. Perhaps because he knew that he had been the one to lead her to such a path. A path where she no longer believed that anything good would happen to her. But even then, the need to explain himself to her grew so much that he could not control it even if he tried.

“There are no cameras. Myra…” he hesitated. “This is no joke. “Another moment of hesitation. “I want us to work. I want to try and be a better mate for you. Listen, I know I have hurt you but just give me one more chance. I have no right…” this time he cut her off.

“You have no right to ask me of such a thing. You hear, NO RIGHT. Just because you helped me while I was in heat which by the way was your responsibility doesn’t give you the right to ask me of this. You are very selfish. Very selfish.” She whispered the last part on the verge of tears.
