Chapter 0008

#Chapter6

Monsterized

Ashley's POV

The growls were no match for mine at that moment cause I was livid and heartbroken. My eyes shifted to the wolf who killed the boy that I never got to know his name and stepped forward, running towards it as the others ran behind me.

With good force, I leaped off the ground and sat on a branch. They all growled as they watched me and I waited for them to take the next step so my plan would play out.

And as stupid as one was, it did jump towards me. I hurriedly cut the upper branch at the same time and forced it through its chest, causing it to fall back to the ground heavily.

The others growled and I jumped on the branch, breaking it. As I landed, one more tried to jump on me, but I caught it by the throat and threw it toward the two others.

I ran towards the boy and saw him shaking with his neck bleeding, he still seemed alive but he couldn't turn his neck to look at me, it also looked broken.

The three bared their teeth at me as they came nearer to me and the boy. I growled back so loudly that they flinched, feeling the aura I radiated. They moved back a bit and I saw them contemplating whether to fight or to make a run for it as they moved back but I couldn't allow the latter.

I immediately dashed at an intense speed, bringing out the broken branch from the dead rogue and slamming it into the brain of another. The other two looked at me and decided to fight, making me happy.

"My son!" I heard from far away and my eyes widened as one of the rogues ran for her. I threw another one at a branch so hard that it rendered it unconscious enough for me to run.

I ran after the wolf in the same direction but stopped as I saw it flying towards me. I dodged and watched it enter neatly into a branch, passing through its heart.

My curls hit my face as I turned back in a haste, my eyes looking into the black ones of a young woman.

This was not what I was expecting.

"Who are you? And where's my son?" She asked and I pointed towards the woods and ran, getting there three seconds before her.

"Oh no, no, Corey baby," She cried as she knelt beside him, "You told me it was just a bath, you know how dangerous it is to stay here for long."

"Mom," He said softly, still unable to turn his head. "Alpha Ma'am saved me," He said with tears running down his face.

She turned to me with tears in her eyes and I looked away, cleaning mine.

"Can you help me raise him to the water?"

I nodded.

I raised him with her feeling like there was no life in him and placed him in the water, his body floated a bit and I stood up, feeling so sad and a bit dead inside.

That was until, his mum lay beside the water, and put her hands in it, mumbling some words which made me wonder what it was. But my eyes widened when I saw that the stream water had turned into a bright blue color and so did the woman's hands.

I moved back a little and realized that I was in the presence of a healer and was also experiencing healing. When she stopped, the water became transparent again and I stared at it, remembering I was thirsty before.

She turned his neck and it went freely, his eyes opening slightly. I was excited and happy for him, was that why he was careless? Because he knew of his mother's abilities?

"Mom, I thought there was no coming back this time," He said weakly and she tapped him on the forehead.

"You choose to call my bluff at this moment Corey?" She scolded and I smiled as she hugged him.

"I mean it, mom, I thought I died," He said, and she withdrew from him giving him a scolding look again.

"You want spanks when you get home?" She asked and he sat up on the Iziah bank.

"No," He answered in a rush and turned to me, smiling at me as he stared at all the dead rogues, "Thank you for saving me."

I nodded, "Your mum killed the last one," I said and he laughed, as I walked to pick up the shirt that had some blood stains on it, putting it on again.

The wolf nearby shook a little and I realized it was the unconscious one, "Consider yourself lucky today."

I stretched and looked forward, proceeding to continue my journey.

"Wait! Miss!" I heard and turned, watching the woman carry her son in a bridal style as he complained. I laughed at that cause I couldn't help myself.

"Yes ma'am?" I answered and she smiled, coming closer to me.

"You must be thirsty and famished. Please come with me, when you eat, I will show you to a friend of mine, Daniel who lives at the borders of the Midnight White Pack. You can stay a night and be on your way tomorrow morning," She said and started walking forward, not giving me a chance to talk.

I followed her and we walked as I stretched some more. It seemed that the boy was just like his mother, kind-hearted and cute.

After a not-so-long journey, we arrived at a small but which was protected by a little ring of salt and ox blood.

"Veris," She spoke and told me to enter. The salt parted through and I walked in. When I stepped into the hut, I immediately understood why the boy and his mother told me not to stay with them.

She brought out some water and I drank greedily, feeling better with my throat.

"Will you let me heal the throat of your eye injury? Who did this to you?" She asked as she served the food and from the corner of my eye, I saw cute Corey look at me, he probably wanted to know too.

"My Alpha," I answered, feeling a stabbing pain in my chest. I was too ashamed to say it was my mate.

I felt soft hands wipe my tears and I widened my eyes when I realized I was crying. My mind was strong but my heart was weak.

"Don't let her touch our pain."

My heart broke at my wolf's statement and I shook my head, retreating from the woman's soft hands.

"Don't heal it, it's a reminder."

She smiled softly at me, "I understand."
