Selene's POV

My blood boiled hotter than molten silver at the sight of him lounging just inches away from that pitiful wolf. With all I’d done to put that servant in her place, with the thrashing I’d given her that should have taught her to know her place 
 and here he was, hovering above her as though she were of precious glass rather than the piece of useless dirt she was.

"Whoa, Selene, calm down." Darius rose from the table, putting his hands up in a defensive pose that only served to rattle my chains more. "She's injured and needs rest."

"Injured?" I cackled morosely, the sound reverberating the chamber from my anger like shattered glass. I folded my arms over my chest and could feel my claws spring out just a bit on their own from my mounting anger. "If she wasn't destroying my property, she'd be dead. That cup was my mother’s gift.”

"Your property?" His voice turned dangerous, as it usually did when asserting his dominance made the pack shrink in fear, but I was too pissed off
