Chapter Thirty-One

Killian POV

Then I step into the bath with her.

The moment the water hits her skin, she stirs.

Her body tenses slightly in my arms, her breathing changing. I feel her lashes flutter against my chest before her voice breaks through, soft and confused.

“Killian?”

I look down as her eyes open slowly, wide and uncertain. She’s confused, her voice uncertain but not afraid. The sight of her like this—vulnerable, trusting, half-asleep against me—nearly breaks whatever’s left of my restraint.

“It’s fine,” I tell her softly. “I’m staying with you. All night.”

Something in her shifts at those words. I feel it. The tension leaves her body slowly, like she’s been waiting for me to say exactly that, even if she didn’t know it. She sinks against my chest, her head resting just beneath my chin, her breathing steady again.

I should not have said that, but I did.

I lean back against the smooth wall of the bath, holding her carefully against me as the water laps around us. The heat soaks into my muscles

  • Forbidden Mated To My Mother's Husband   Chapter Thirty-Four

Killian POVShe looks breathtaking lying there beside me, her hair still tangled from sleep, her skin marked where my hands gripped too tightly the night before. And still, she looks at me like she’s waiting for me to fail her all over again. I know she doesn’t believe me, not yet. But I’ll change that. I have to.Her voice breaks the silence.“Why does my mother hate me so much?”The question hits harder than I expect. I stare at her, caught off guard. “Your mother loves you,” I say automatically, the words more habit than truth. She looks at me like I’m a fool. Like she’s tired of hearing the same lies over and over.“How can you say that, Killian?” Her voice isn’t sharp, it’s tired and hollow. “My mother saw me as a burden. Nothing but a weakness. Something to control, to use.”I open my mouth, searching for some kind of answer, but she keeps going.“I remember,” she says quietly, her gaze dropping to the sheets between us. “I remember when I first moved in at the pack. I remember

  • Forbidden Mated To My Mother's Husband   Chapter Thirty-Three

**Please note this chapter and Chapter Thirty-Four should be before Asking Him. I've requested them to be edited but if you see this then read Thirty-three, thirty-four then Asking him.**Aurora POVHe’s looking at me like he cares. Like whatever just happened between us changed something for him. But that’s impossible. Killian doesn’t care. Not about me. Not about anyone.“Why?” My voice is thin and raw, quieter than I mean it to be. “Why save me tonight, just to throw me to them tomorrow when you’re done with me?”His eyes close. He doesn’t answer right away. When he opens them again, he looks tired. Tired in a way I’ve never seen before.“I don’t want to be cruel, Aurora. And yeah… maybe I ran too much. Maybe I pushed you away more than I should’ve. The fact is, this is dangerous.”I nod, swallowing down the ache in my throat. “Because it’s forbidden.”“Forbidden is one thing.” His voice drops lower. “This? People with fated bonds like ours… they’re forced to stand trial. Punishmen

  • Forbidden Mated To My Mother's Husband   Asking Him

Aurora POVI don’t expect much to change when we return home. Killian will have to act the same as always. He’ll have to ignore me, speak to me like I’m nothing, just to keep up appearances. If he treats me differently, people will notice. They’ll question it, whisper about it, and those whispers will spread like wildfire. My mother will definitely notice, and I know she won’t just let me stop cleaning. That woman would rather die than let me be seen as anything but the burden she raised me to be.“Would you like breakfast?” Killian asks from across the room.I sigh quietly, brushing my fingers through my damp hair. “You don’t need to cook anything.”“I’ll order something,” he says. “Just tell me if there’s anything specific you want.”I don’t answer, just nod once, and he grabs the hotel phone, placing an order with someone downstairs. While he does that, I slip into the bathroom. The warm water from the shower helps ease some of the tension in my body, but I still feel stiff, like t

  • Forbidden Mated To My Mother's Husband   Chapter Thirty

Killian POVWhat the hell have I done?I hold her against me, not that I have much of a choice now. My knot’s locked deep inside her, and there’s no undoing that until it goes down. She’s soft and still in my arms, completely unconscious, and all I can do is stand here against the wall, my body shaking from the aftermath of everything I let happen.I shouldn’t have done this. Not to her. Not like this.Knotting her wasn’t supposed to happen. Not after everything I’ve fought to avoid. Not after every rule I’ve forced between us. Knotting her is as close to claiming her as I can get without sinking my teeth into her throat and ending this for good. And worse, I know my wolf loved it. I let him get too close. I let him push too far. And now I’ve crossed a line I can’t uncross.Fucking her, touching her, those were mistakes I convinced myself I could recover from. I could’ve walked away. I could’ve pretended. But knotting her? That’s not something I can take back.I drag in a shaky breath,

  • Forbidden Mated To My Mother's Husband   Chapter Twenty-Nine

Aurora POVI barely get a second to brace myself before he thrusts into me hard and fast, slamming into me like the control he’s been clutching finally shatters. My head hits the wall, my legs tightening around him automatically, my mouth falling open in a broken gasp I can’t control. The sudden stretch, the force of it, makes my entire body shake. He groans, low and guttural, his forehead dropping to my shoulder as he buries himself deep inside me. His whole body trembles now, like he’s on the edge of something he can’t come back from, his control unraveling second by second.“I can’t… fuck, Aurora… my wolf…” His words aren’t smooth anymore, they’re broken and breathless, whispered like he’s confessing something he hates himself for. “I can’t hold him back. He’s too close.”I can feel it, the way his skin burns hotter against mine, the way his body shudders as his hips pull back, only to slam forward again, harder this time, rougher. He’s not careful now. Not slow. He’s lost to it, to
