Chapter 008

Abigail walked slowly down the streets. It was drizzling and there were no cabs so she had to walk. I was a bit windy too,she had to rub her palms against her shoulder to keep warm.

She walked into a shop and bought a bottle of alcohol for herself. She wasn't much of a drinker,but she suddenly felt the need for alcohol to burn down her throat.

She noticed two men had been following her since she left the restaurant. Scared,she quickened her pace,but they caught up with her.

“What's a pretty little miss like you doing out here alone?” 

“Leave me alone.” Abigail swung the bottle at them but they caught it and threw it away. The two men grabbed her and pinned her to a nearby car.

The hand of the first man reached under her skirt and felt her laps.

“Ethan stop.” Abigail groaned.

”Hey! Leave her alone.” Liam interjected the scene. 

The two thugs immediately resorted to the use of their fists,Liam was able to overpower them and they ended up running away from him.

Liam walked over to Abigail and placed his hand on her shoulder. “Leave me alone.” She pushed his hand off and smiled,half drunk. 

“Funny,” she laughed.

“This was the same way your father saved me that night.”

Luckily,a cab was passing by so she flagged it down and got in. By the time the cab zoomed off, Liam was still grounded to the spot.

Frustrated,he decided to get a drink for himself.

When he got home,he went straight to his room. As he entered the dark room,he could make out the silhouette of a woman. He frowned, turning on the lights.

“Ariana?!” He raised a brow. Ariana was the daughter of Alpha Kael and Liam knew she had a huge crush on him.

She was dressed sexily in red and had a glass of champagne in hand. When she saw Liam,she smiled. 

“Pa Frey finally found out about your dangerous love affair.” She chuckled. “I always told you Liam,that the two of you wouldn't get anywhere with what you were doing. You are mine.” 

“What are you doing here?” Liam asked. Ariana shook her head and dropped the champagne glass on the nearby table.

“The right question is,what will we do here?” She smiled, taking off her dress. “Leave,or I'll call the guards to kick you out.” He said, pointing towards the door.

“Oh,call them. Pa Frey himself asked me to do this. Just take of your clothes and we'll start.” Ariana smirked.

“What?!’’ 

Liam seemed confused,the old alpha had set him up? 

“Have you all gone insane?” He asked.

“Insane? Yes Liam. I'm insanely in love with you.” Ariana was completely naked. Her sexy body before Liam's lustful eyes. Ariana walked towards him and sealed their lips.

When Liam woke up,he was still cuddling with Ariana. He sat up,his head banging from last night's alcohol. When he said Ariana beside him,a lot of memories came to his mind. He quickly checked the spot on her neck. He had sunk his fangs in last night,he was now bonded with Ariana? No! He wouldn't accept it.

Quickly,he threw on his clothes and marched to pa Frey's study. “Why was Ariana in my bed?” 

Pa Frey didn't look up from his table. “Ah,so you met her.”

“That's not what I asked you!”Liam shouted.

The old alpha finally raised his head. “Know your place,boy. I'm doing all this for your own good. You'd better marry Ariana and have little pups before winter.” 

“I will not marry her!” Liam stormed out.

Ethan sat alone in the dark room,his bottle of wine and the cigar between his lips were his only companions. 

He checked his phone again. Over a thousand calls and texts but Abigail hadn't responded to one. He felt frustrated and worried. It was so unlike her to do such.

What could've gone wrong within the hours he had left the city that day? He wondered,but he couldn't figure anything out. It wasn't like they fought or argued before he left or something.

Tired,he stood up, deciding that he'd go back to the city as soon as possible so he could know what exactly went wrong.

When he walked out of the office,he collided with Alex. “Ah,it's good that you're here. Prepare the jet, we're heading back home tonight.” He ordered.

Ethan could see the way Alex was shivering,it seemed something bad had happened. “What happened?” He asked.

Alex couldn't talk,he just handed Ethan the phone. Ethan's eyes widened. All the earlier feeling of longing and love he felt towards Abigail fell to the ground.

In the video,Liam had kissed Abigail and they seemed like a couple. The internet had already exploded that Liam was involved in a scandal and he had a secret girlfriend.

Ethan felt anger boil in his veins and his wolf fighting to remain calm,but it couldn't. Was this why Abigail didn't answer any of his calls or reply to any of his texts? She got back with Liam? 

“Take it down.” He commanded.

“Yes sir.” Alex nodded.

“There'll be no need for the jet. Assemble the strongest wolves we have, we're going to fight the rogues tonight.” He said,jaw clenched, before walking back into the study.

Alex gulped down saliva before getting back to work.

Back in his dark study,Ethan found his heart racing and his mind literally unstable. Had Abigail played him all along? Was he just something she could use and dump?

“Abigail,you'll regret this.” He whispered to himself.
