Even as she stepped outside, she could hear it loud and clear. Her head told her

Go back in. You're making a silly mistake.

She heard the loud voice of hybrid ethics teachers as they say in class while the pure wolves gymed.

“You are different! And different isn't always good. There are certain places a hybrid should avoid.”

The list was endless.

Large shopping malls.

Expensive restaurants.

You can't own fancy clothes.

You can't even smell too good.

If they could, they would make the hybrids breathe a different air.

It was that bad. But after the hurt of Ethan's betrayal, Abigail was feeling audacious.

Or was it suicidal?

She didn't know what it was but she was tired of sitting in her dingy apartment and listening to her heart's cry. A fucking thousand dollars was sitting in her account. And if it was a mistake, it was too late.

She stared at her wardrobe. Every outfit was mundane or easily classified as a rag. She didn't want to wear her boring work clothes. And it would be a taboo to wear a rag to where she had prompted her heart to go.

With a hundred thousand dollars sitting in her account, clothes could never be a problem.

Abigail decided it was time to fall her hair . A hybrid wasn't really stopped from doing that. But it was like an unspoken law. Pure wolves curled their hairs and let them down. Hybrids couldn't do that mostly because most salons wouldn't even touch their hair.

But she had a natural curl. All she needed was moisture. She stood in front of the mirror and took off the ribbon that had been attached to her hair for god knows when. The curls fell easily on her shoulders. As a teenager, her curly hair had always gotten her in trouble with the pure wolves and the teachers in school.

“Hey! How dare you curl your hair?” They'd ask her..

Back then, Liam always defended her from the bullies.

She grabbed a spray bottle and applied some water to her hair. That was all it took to give her bounce and more curls. Since make up wasn't really her thing and she was too broke to buy a make up kit and too busy to learn how to do one, she had the simplest items.

A gloss and powder..

But it was enough to radiate her look.

Now, no one would ever guess she was a hybrid. Well, except for her clothes that needed changing.

She stepped out of the house a hundred thousand dollars richer and growing enough liver to withdraw a bit from the money. She was waiting for her private ride when she heard a woman behind her.

She was in her fifties, back bent from years of probably scrubbing for the pure wolves. Her body had bruises and her eyes looked tired.

The typical look of a hybrid after they had given their strength to the pure wolves. Meanwhile, the pure wolves in their fifties were still driving cars and walking straight.

“Please,” the old woman begged. “Can I have a few changes from you? I don't have what to eat tonight.”

Abigail's heart broke. Hadn't that been her dilemma this morning?

If ever she could change things, she would erase the social divide and give everyone a fair chance to make it. She dug her hand into her purse and brought out ten dollar notes. She squeezed it into the woman's hand. Her eyes widened as she saw the notes.

“I wish I could do more,” Abigail said, biting tears away.

The woman nodded with gratitude. “I see your heart, young child. And your desires. Trust me when I say you'll find your rightful mate and be united this year.”

Abigail smiled out of respect. She didn't believe in love again. Things like that were meant for pure wolves. And maybe the woman had thought she was one.

She turned away and waited for her private ride.

It felt too good. Sitting alone in a car, enjoying the AC. Ethan had always treated her to luxury. But this time, it didn't feel like a handout. It felt like it was hers. Even though she was using money that wasn't hers..

Crescent shopping mall was where she headed to. It wasn't the largest around —she couldn't dare going to the biggest mall in the city for fear of recognition. Or unrecognition.

Crescent mall was decent. A few hybrids did.more than working there. Among the hybrids, there were those who were under special favour of a politician. They proudly paraded themselves as mistresses and strutted malls like Crescent mall.

She stepped down from the cab and stared at the building with racing heart. But she couldn't gawk for too long. That was how to spot a hybrid. She moved on, bracing herself, entering into the lift with pure wolves.

She wondered if they would say anything.

But then again, they could assume she was a mistress to a powerful wolf. Finally, she walked in the midst of dresses she had never thought she could afford, her eyes admiring each one, unsure of which to pick.

She just needed one. A dress she would probably sell off after tonight. But she would keep pictures that she woukd go through to remind herself if she survived the night.

Then, as if it called onto her, a blue dress, gleaming like the midnight sky, stood a few feet from her. Her heart swelled. This was what she had come here for. This was certainly the dress she would wear tonight.

She was reaching for it when she appeared. Her nose picked her smell. She was a pure wolf. And not just any pure wolf. A Lycan’s daughter.

Her face was twisted into a disgust as she saw Abigail trying to reach for the gown. It had caught her eye and it was the only one left in the mall. And like Abigail, her nose had picked up her smell.

A hybrid, she thought with disgust.

Probably a mistress or a breeder.

She didn't know which she hated more. The dirty, poor ones or the ones who simply didn't know their place.

She stopped before her..

“Hybrid,” she spat out venomously as if the mere mention of the word could give her a fit. “Hand over the gown.”

Abigail stood there, unsure of how to react it what to say. But one thing was constant in her head and heart. She wasn't going to leave without the gown.

  • Forbidden love: The Alpha is mine    stay with you tonight

Ethan took Abigail's hand.“I really want to show you in every way that you're my choice,” he said. “So, I'll stay with you tonight.”“And tomorrow?” She asked, teasingly. “Every other night…till forever.”It felt good hearing that. Ethan figured he would deal with Bianca's problem by morning of the next day. He was so sure that she wasn't pregnant and after the test result had confirmed that, his would send her away, a mistake he wouldn't make again. He pulled her to himself, just to taste the sweetness of her lips. “I've missed doing this,” he confessed. “I've missed your laughs. You have no idea.”Abigail slapped his chest with mock annoyance. “You left me all alone.”He wrapped her with his arms. “I'm sorry, my pigeon.”“Pigeon.”“‘cause you're cute and smallish.”Abigail smiled. “It was you, wasn't it? The person who did my job.”“Stayed all night for you.”Her smile widened. Then she raised her head. “Oh my gosh! It was you. You sent me that money.”Ethan didn't affirm but hi

  • Forbidden love: The Alpha is mine    Instructions

Bianca's heart had been racing erratically ever since Ethan requested for a proof of pregnancy, and worse, Alex, his over keen assistant was right there with her to ensure she didn't doctor the result. She sat there, hoping for an escape. If Ethan found out that her pregnancy claim was a lie, he would be mad at her deception and lock her out. She played with her fingers nervously while Alex sat there, waiting for her to go in. He had received clear instructions from his boss to follow through the process. And seeing how nervous she was, he knew she was hiding something. But for the life of him, he would never understand why his boss had decided to go back to his ex wife. Alpha Ethan had been barely alive until he found Abigail. He had seen how much he changed and he didn't care about the age difference. And the past few days without her had been torturous for him.He could never understand Alpha Ethan.“Why are you here anyway?” Bianca barked at him. “Isn't Ethan coming?”She was des

  • Forbidden love: The Alpha is mine    she can't remember

Ethan held her hand and moved dangerously close to her. She felt his warm breath against her ears. It spoke of burning desires, a call that awakened hers. But Abigail wanted so badly to resist, yet, she wanted more badly to give in, to forget about everything even for the moment and fall into the arms of the man she was still obviously in love with. “Why are you doing this to me —to us?” Ethan's voice, laced with deep desire, croaked into her ear.She shut her eyes and held her breath. With him so close, it was difficult to decide, to remain angry, or to say no.She moaned with need. Even her body couldn't deny that she missed him, and more than ever, she wanted him, yet there and now.Ethan took cue from her moan and found her lips. They crashed into each other, each touch, a reminder of the passion they ignited in one another and a testament that they were meant for each other. Abigail didn't remember Bianca and her pregnancy and Ethan didn't think of Daven and what relationship h

  • Forbidden love: The Alpha is mine    Too late to regret

It was too late for regrets, Abigail knew that. So she didn't apologise. She glared at him like how she wished she could glare at every wolf who had called her a hybrid or looked down on her. He was bearing the brunt because he couldn't mind his business.Despite the gravity of her words and the way it made him feel initially, Daven realised he wasn't really mad. It soothed him, strangely.Wasn't it the truth?Besides, he had never had never had anyone speak to him that way. Even abroad, the ladies always kept their thoughts to themselves because of what they could gain from him. And back here, he was the Alpha's son.“You insulted me first,” Abigail declared. “Do you not realise it? You don't respect my decision because I am a hybrid.”Daven nodded. She was right. He had overstepped. He started the car and took the opposite lane, returning back to the office. Abigail didn't want this ride home. She didn't want to be in the space of someone who constantly ridiculed her existence. Wa

  • Forbidden love: The Alpha is mine    Office fight

It was a relief to Abigail. For one, she had thought she had been set up. And she really needed a new card after Daven rudely broke hers. She was actually on her last cent and she knew how excruciatingly difficult it was to get a card at the bank.Well, unless your blood screamed pure wolf. She could afford to frown now.“You made me beg for nothing.”It was infuriating being around someone who enjoyed making fun of others. But for now, Abigail kept her cool. She needed him to help her sort her card issues. After then, she would tell him to stay the hell away from her. She wasn't a hybrid that needed some pure wolf’s shadow to navigate her way around. She had been doing just fine before every one of them.Daven chuckled and led the way. “I didn't know you had a tear in you,” he said as he turned towards the bank. He owed Abigail a new card. But that was now really the reason he had decided to help her. Truth was, he couldn't stop thinking about her and desiring to hold her. And his

  • Forbidden love: The Alpha is mine    Feeling Proud

Daven held the steering, feeling proud. He had the woman he wanted, seated beside him. And even though her face was moulded into a scowl, a win was a win.Abigail sat quietly, wondering where Daven was taking her to. The day was bright and a public place was a huge no. She didn't want to be in another scandal. Mia had told her straight. She would abandon her. She couldn't even survive another scandal, being looked at as she walked the street and hated by even the unloved - the hybrids. She faced Daven. “Lunch break is thirty minutes,” she reminded him. He probably had never worked, she thought. And had no regard for time. “Where are you taking me to?”Daven flashed a smile that grated on her nerves. “Chill. Will ya? And don't worry, it's my company. No one can sack you.”“It's not yours if you're not CEO,” she shot quietly. She understood boys like Daven. Always having things done for them their whole life and even too lazy right now as a grown adult to reason with their brains. The
