Ava’s POV

I quickly picked up my phone, glanced around, and started moving.

I got to the hotel—not in my uniform—but in a red open-back dress. I looked beautiful in it. My hair was tied up in a ponytail, one of my favorite hairstyles.

As I arrived at the hotel, I texted Chris on W******p to let him know I had arrived, but he didn’t reply, so I called his phone. He picked up immediately but didn’t say anything. Just as I was about to speak, the soft moan of a woman’s voice sprang from the speaker. She kept pleading with him to go gently on her, saying his manhood was too big for her.

My head spun. I pulled the phone from my ear briefly and looked at the screen to make sure it wasn’t someone else’s number. I placed it back to my ear, and Chris’s voice came through, breaking like cracked signals from the speaker.

“Hi, my love. Stay right there. I’m coming to meet you shortly.”

The call ended. I was confused and speechless. Was this more proof that Chris was cheating on me? But who was that girl? Had Kia gotten here before me and slept with him?

I watched Chris hurry down the stairs.

“Hi baby,” he said, planting a kiss on my cheek.

My stiff body didn’t respond. He didn’t seem like someone who had just had sex—no woman’s smell or perfume, no lip gloss stain on his white shirt. He didn’t act suspiciously either.

Or did I not hear correctly? I asked myself again.

“Are you okay, Ava?” he asked, and I nodded.

“Chris, are you cheating on me?” I asked in a soft voice.

“Oh baby, come on! I thought we were over this? I already explained to you that I have nothing to do with Kia.”

“This isn’t about Kia anymore. I heard a lady moaning during sex with you here in this hotel room,” I barked, but he only laughed.

“Honey, that was the television,” he said, laughing again. I looked at the TV. An action movie was playing—it didn’t look like it had any sex scenes.

“Stop lying!” I yelled, and his expression turned serious.

“What do you mean, Ava?”

“I’m no kid, Chris. I know when a guy is cheating and when he’s not.”

He snapped his fingers in the air, and two men stormed in. My mind went blank. One was holding a saxophone, the other a bunch of red roses and a teddy bear. My eyes lit up when the man with the saxophone began playing and singing a happy birthday song for me. I turned 18 today, and I had only just remembered.

Then came Chris’s friends—Alex, the boy from the same class as Steve, who Chris said had helped him track the private number and discovered it was Liana. He was here with Harrison, Chris’s best friend from home—they live on the same street.

After the saxophonist finished, Harrison popped a confetti popper, and shiny bits flew everywhere. My anger dissolved like salt in water. I jumped and hugged Chris, even kissing him in front of everyone. I hadn’t known Chris could be this romantic. I had accused him wrongly of cheating and had been unnecessarily worried, even though it was clear that Chris loved me.

He collected the roses and teddy bear from the other guy and handed them to me, placing a gentle kiss on my lips. I was already in tears—tears of joy. I couldn’t wait to tell him I was sorry for everything I had put him through. I also couldn’t wait to tell Liana and show her my gifts.

I thought that was all, but then Chris pulled out a diamond necklace from his pocket. He opened its box and gently put it on me. I cried—I couldn’t contain the excitement in my heart. I had to let the tears fall to show how much joy I felt in that moment.

“My love, please don’t. I love you. Believe me, baby,” he pleaded, wiping my tears with his palm.

His friends got so emotional too.

“She loves you, man,” Alex said, as they popped champagne and everyone drank and celebrated.

Later, Chris and I lay on the bed, drunk and excited. We talked about a lot of things—his hobbies, the places he’d love to visit in the future, what he found attractive in me, and all that. His friends had left, and so had the other two guys.

I looked up at him and smiled. “Really? You find my eyes attractive?” I repeated what he said earlier when I asked what he liked about me.

“Why?” I asked again, a soft grin on my face.

“Your cat eyes are beautiful,” he complimented, earning a broad smile from me.

Chris wasn’t the only guy who admired my cat eyes. It was one of the beautiful things I inherited from my Chinese mom. Unfortunately, she and my dad had passed away, and my aunt adopted me. Even though she isn’t wealthy, I’m cool with her.

He leaned forward, lying on top of me, but without resting his full weight. He smiled, and I smiled back. The diamond necklace around my neck glittered like stars in the night sky. It must have cost a fortune, judging from the look.

Chris and I were just a breath apart.

“You know I can have you a million times a day. I can never get tired of your body.”

I smiled, my body shivering under the subtle pressure of his masculinity pressing against me. I couldn’t wait to grip him tightly and slide his manhood into my juicy pussy. I knew Chris loved spending quality time with me—and having quality sex too.

He spread my legs wide, and his tongue found its way between them. A soft moan escaped from my lungs as my body trembled under the pleasure of his head game. It was easier for him because my nightwear was a silk short gown with tiny straps that lifted the breast lace as it ran across my shoulders to my back.

He slid two fingers into my pussy, and I trembled.

“Oh Chris,” a soft cry escaped my throat.

“Fuck my pussy, I beg of you.”

Bryan’s POVChris turned slowly, his eyes narrowing at Kia, who stood trembling behind him.For a moment, he just stared. Then, without warning, he closed the gap between them, his hand rising to her cheek—not with tenderness, but with a sudden, sharp shove.Kia hit the floor with a gasp, her books scattering across the hallway tiles. The crowd erupted in shocked murmurs, but Chris didn’t flinch. He turned his back on her like she was nothing, facing Tessa again, his voice breaking.“I love you, Tessa,” he said, chest heaving. “I only love you. No one else.”The corridor held its breath. Tessa stayed still, her lips slightly parted as though she was trying to absorb every bit of what he had said. Then—“A lie,” a voice rang out from behind the crowd.Heads turned.Ava.She stepped forward from seemingly nowhere, her phone raised high in one hand. Her expression was cold, her gaze fell on Chris like a predator that had cornered its prey.“Let’s all hear what you really are, Chris,” she

Bryan’s POV“Something tells me this is Liana at work,” she said, still staring at the message.I took the phone and stared too, as if I could find the answer to her worries just by looking at the screen. I dropped the phone on the bed when the incident that had just occurred flashed through my mind.“But Ava, what happened earlier today? Where did you go, and why were you bleeding?”Her face saddened immediately as she clenched her tummy. “I went to discuss the accommodation issue with Doctor Dane, and he blatantly refused to help me, saying it was risky on his end since he doesn’t know my parents or relatives—and that if anything happened to me in his house, it might lead to big problems he was trying to avoid for the sake of his career. When he said all this, my heart bled and my chest became heavy again. I googled some abortion pills and bought them at a pharmacy on my way home with a fake doctor’s prescription. I took them in a serene place and boarded a taxi home. I’m sorry, Bry

  • Fractured   SAVING A FRIEND

Bryan’s POVI couldn’t breathe as I sat frozen in the doctor’s office, the weight of the unknown crushing me. Then, after what felt like hours, the doctor finally spoke.“Your sister… she’s lost the baby,” he said carefully, pausing to let the words sink in.A heavy silence settled in the room. My heart sank for a moment, the grief for her loss hitting me like a punch. But then, the doctor continued, his tone softening. “However… She’s fine. Stable and responding to treatment,” he said with a level of certainty. “She should make a full recovery. In fact, she’ll be discharged this evening.”Relief washed over me like sunlight breaking through storm clouds. My sadness and pain rolled away as though a new page of life had been flipped over. I jumped to my feet, my knees trembling with the force of the emotion.“Can I see her?” I asked eagerly, my voice trembling with urgency. The doctor nodded. “Yes, she’s awake and alert now. But take it easy—don’t startle her.”I raced down the corrido

  • Fractured   AVA’S DEAD?

Ava’s POVI got up from my sleep and looked around to see if Bryan’s parents were back yet, but they weren’t. I walked into Bryan’s room, then into the bathroom, and took a shower. After drying off, I stared at my tummy in the mirror, my mind heavy as memories of Chris flashed through me: our relationship and that birthday surprise at the hotel that night. “This is the result of that night,” I murmured. I quickly shook it off and picked up my phone, dialing Dr. Dane’s number. The line clicked, and his calm voice answered. “Hello, Ava. This is Dr. Dane.”“Good morning, Doctor,” I said, trying to sound alright. “I… I wanted to discuss something with you. It’s really important to me,” I added, pausing for him to respond, but the line remained silent. I continued, “My aunt found out that I was pregnant and threw me out of the house. I’m homeless right now, and that’s why I’m calling you, Doc. I don’t know if you can help me.” I remembered how Dr. Dane used to say I could confide in him, t

  • Fractured   TESSA WALKER IS FINALLY MINE

Bryan’s POVFrom the mirror, I saw Ava sitting on the bed behind me while I got dressed, ready for my first date with Tessa Walker, a famous and well-known model in the modeling industry. A black jeep honked in front of my house.“That must be Tessa,” I said as we peeped through the window. Her car was fucking clean. “A car for the governor’s children,” I thought.“I’ll see you, Ava! I’ll see you when I return,” I screamed over my shoulder as I rushed toward the door, disorganized. She said something, but I didn’t hear it clearly.I hopped into the car. Ava was watching from the window; I knew she was crying, but that was something we’d deal with when I returned. I sat in the back seat with Tessa, and her driver moved the car.I suddenly started sweating. I removed my handkerchief from my trouser pocket and wiped the sweat off my face several times. Tessa’s beauty was like the glow of the sun, too perfect and spotless. I couldn’t believe I was sitting next to her and now officially he

  • Fractured   A NEW CONSPIRACY

Chris’s POVI knocked at the door before twisting the handle open. Ava sat on the chair facing Mrs. Forrest. She glanced at me, then returned her gaze to the ground. My eyes darted between the two of them; I already knew what this was about. She asked me to sit beside Ava, which I did.“Did you get Ava pregnant?” she asked bluntly. I looked briefly at Ava before answering. “No, I’ve never been involved with Ava,” I said plainly. She didn’t look up at me. Mrs. Forrest let out a sigh.“Chris has just confirmed what you said, so who is the father of your baby?” she asked, her voice soft and calm. She signaled me to excuse myself, but I stood outside the door, listening.“You can confide in me, Ava.”“I went out after school with some friends and got drugged. But I don’t want anyone to know about this,” she lied, still pleading that Mrs. Forrest keep her secret. Silence filled the room for a moment.“And you don’t want me to hand this matter over—”“No! No, I don’t want any of that,” Ava
