Chapter 2

Annalise opened up the door to find a young woman who looked like she was in her mid thirties. " Hello." she said. Annalise took time to study her really closely. Her hair shone like it had some form of oil in it. " I'm Linny , the house keeper". Annalise wondered in silence what it could be that she wanted from her. " Dinner is served and Mr Damian wants you at the table."

Annalise took time to process the message. she hadn't thought about food since she arrived. " Okay. thanks" she managed to say. Linny watched her for a moment before returning. As long as Annalise was concerned , Mr Damian was going to have to wait for her to get done with what she needed. The room was quite warm and she thought it would be quite the perfect time for a warm bath.

The rough looking man who had come to take her away from her family surely wasn't the Mr Damian. he hadn't introduced himself to her either so tbe best thing to do about it all was to wait and let time unravel all.

The bath did not waste much time as she had expected. She hurried with it and was soon done .

After that, she slipped into a short pink gown which was the best of what she could find. The gown held her tightly and she had even considered giving it to her younger sister Amira who was fifteen.

Linny was back and this time she sounded rather stern. " I must tell you that Mr Damian does not like his meals to go cold" she said.

"Why doesn't Mr Damian eat without me?" Annalise demanded.

Linny chewed the inner part of her cheeks . "Well , Mr Damian does not like to eat without his guests , he considers it rather rude" Whichever way Linny wanted to put it, Annalise wasn't buying it. He couldn't act nice now, not after he force fully took her away from her family and out of her home without even giving her an opportunity or chance to say goodbye. All she wanted from him was nothing so he could very well take his act of pretentious kindness far from her sight .

Linny led the way and they came to a rather small dinning room with a table for about four persons. " Here she is Mr Damian" Linny said.

He say with his back to the door but Annalise could see even from his back that he was not the same man who had bundled her away from her home in that private ride.

" What took you so long , Linny?" He demanded.

Annalise stood behind Linny who was shaking visibly now. "She , um"

Linny had barely begun speaking when he rose his hand signalling her to stop speaking and leave. Leaving just the two of them.

Annalise was still standing behind him when he addressed her .

" If you must know , I hate to be kept waiting".

The silence that followed in the small room was heavy.

Linny left them alone and went about her chores.

"Waiting for a special invitation?" Damian demanded and a half frightened Annalise walked to the chair opposite him. She took her seat in the chair and immediately , her gown was raised far above her knees. It was so high that her skin shone in the dimly lit room and she was quite thankful that the table separated them from each other.

"I'm told that you are the eldest of your father's children?" Damian asked.

she was unprepared for this, her mind had been wandering so far and suddenly the fork in her hand fell back to the plate. This caused Damian to wonder what could have frightened her so badly. From looks of it , he was done with his own meal and was only waiting for her.

What was he waiting , Annalise wondered. she wanted him to be very far away as he could.

The last thing she wanted right now was to be seated with him right now.
