If she placed the hand on her eyes longer then would it all be an imagination?

Harmony's chest was rising and falling, and even though Harmony could tell it was in a slow and non-obvious motion, she still begged herself internally to calm down.

But it was proving difficult too. Adding the piercing eyes in her direction, and one particularly hot one that was descended at her, and topping it off with the engulfing scent of musk that was pervading her senses.

"Harmony?" He repeated, and she could hear the confusion in his voice.

Deciding it would be too much to shame herself more than she had already done, she slowly removed the hand from her face, allowing a shaky lopsided smile on her face.

"Hi," She muttered, her eyes looking in the direction of the cup on the table rather than the person in front of her.

She felt that she must look like she was scrunching her face into a messed-up expression in her bid to look as natural as possible.

"Hello," She heard him reply, and this time she gave in to her desire to seem normal and looked up at him.

He really was appealing to the eyes….. So much so that Harmony felt uncomfortable being so close to him that the comparison would be far too glaring.

Even in the dullest of colors, his edgy and blunt features managed to shine bright. With his silver hair being laid to rest messily on his face and his lip piercing glinting under the bulb light, complete with the tattoos that were no longer hidden by the turtle-neck shirt overriding his pale neck, it was safe to say he suited the term— Sexy way too much.

"Hi," Harmony's running tongue couldn't be helped, as she was beguiled by his warm eyes gazing at her.

Such a blunt and domineering beauty yet he managed to appear rather warm and polite to others. Harmony reckoned he must be a nice person.

His lip hooked ever so slightly and his warm eyes had a touch of mirth in them. "Hey," He said, amusement shining through his voice as he struggled not to smile.

"Hello," Harmony repeated, the humor of her own shaking her voice.

"Hi." He parroted, the soft laugh that threatened to escape his voice roughef his tone.

She was unable to stop her eyes from brightening and her lips from curling into a small smile surfacing on her face upon seeing his soft smile.

Then a bucket of realization poured on her. Her eyes popped as she said, "Oh," Her expression contorted from the bright one. "I mean…. You're here."

"Of course, you'd be here, anyone can be here….." She awkwardly added, moistening her lips with her tongue.

His mirthful black eyes illuminated something strange and rather tense in the blink of an eye and then it was gone. Harmony chalked it up as the light flashed in his eyes.

"Yeah, anyone can be here," He repeated. "Was surprised by how disturbed you looked, it looked like you were about to run out."

She shook her head. "Of course not! Why would I run out? I came to get some food…. And it's not like I'm avoiding anybody."

He nodded his head slowly. "That's relieving. I was concerned you might be avoiding me."

Her expression burst filled with nervous humor as she chuckled drily, followed by a pfft sound from her. "What? Avoiding you? Why would I do that? I was just hurrying back so I could ask for directions to my Tha 101 class."

The slight amusement that danced in his eyes hadn't faded. "Fresher right?" He asked.

To which she nodded.

"Good. I'll take you to your class."

'Good sir, don't you think you're saying the wrong line?' Immediately crossed Harmony's mind.

"Oh, uhm, you don't need to do that…" Harmony replied softly.

Rhett on the other hand took a step closer to her, the scent of his cologne further wafting around her.

Harmony was tempted to step back but at the same time she wanted to step forward, to inhale more of his cologne.

'Jesus, harmony, what are you thinking?!' Harmony nearly wanted to slap herself if only to knock sense back into her head.

"It's fine, I want to," He responded. "Or, do you not like being around me?" He leaned in closer, causing Harmony's heart to race unbelievably fast.

"N-No, that's not it." Harmony choked out.

"Really? Because I get the feeling you don't like me very much," Harmony could have sworn his voice has gone lower making the hair on her skin stand erect and her cheeks flush.

"I-I do!" She said, hoping her cheeks weren't the red saucer she was suspecting they were.

Rhett raised an eyebrow, a twinkle of amusement in his eyes. "Is that so? Is that why you look like you're ready to run the first chance you get?"

Her eyes widened. She was ready to run the first chance she had, but she couldn't help it. Coupled with her social anxiety and just how intimidating… Well everything about Rhett King was, being around him was two sides.

She was either comfortable in his presence or he just triggered her flight or fright instinct.

"I'm-I'm not running—"

"Not that I'd have a problem if you did. I like runners." He said those words so calmly as if they were everyday words.

Harmony's heart skipped a beat at those words. "What?"

"I'm the captain of the track team, always looking to scout the new talent," He started, obviously sensing Harmony's fear. "Tell me Harmony, just how good are you at running?"

Harmony nearly sighed in relief at his next words. 'Get over yourself Harmony, what did you think he meant?!'

"I'm not much of a runner." She assumed a crooked smile.

"Oh. Shame."

"Y-Yeah… So I'm gonna go—"

"Do you like parties?" He suddenly asked.

"Huh? Parties?" She parroted.

"Yeah, I have a party tomorrow, I want you to come. My house."
