FAZER LOGINCrystal POV
“Let’s have a glass of wine. What’s a party without wine?”
“But we’re not at the event yet; we’re still home.”
“I’ve got nothing to worry about since I’m not the one driving.” He downed everything in his cup before going out of the house.
I didn’t take a sip out of the glass he gave me; I dropped it back on the table and followed him. By the time I got into the back of the SUV, his father strolled out of the house.
“Where is Valeria?”
“I have someone filling in her position for now, Father. Let’s go; we’re running late. This is a family friend occasion, and we have to be present throughout every process.” I heard every word he said to his father because he left the door open to respond to him.
He got in and planted a kiss on my cheek.
“You look absolutely stunning. They only added extra because you’re so pretty.” He turned to his phone, and there was a message from his supposed wife, Valeria.
WE SHOULD ATTEND THE BIRTHDAY OCCASION TOGETHER. WHAT COLOR OF DRESS SHOULD I GET?
I read the text; he gave me his phone and commanded me,
“Send a reply. You’re my personal assistant; that’s your job.” He let out a sharp breath and turned his head to the left window.
He wants me to reply to a lady who’s supposed to be my rival in getting Kieran, but the manner in which he trusts me leaves me marveled.
I’m with his phone; I can do whatever I want right now, and he wouldn’t know a thing, but here I am with his phone, and he looks normal.
I looked at his soldiers sitting in front in green attire; they were attending the party to protect Kieran, so I pictured the scene.
GREEN
I sent the reply and switched the screen off, and then he looked at me with a smile.
“I’m sure you did something horrible.” He chuckled as he was about to reach for his phone, but I stopped him.
“Yes, I did, but it’s nothing to be worried about. I’ve got it handled.”
“Are you going to run away from the cameras this time?” He asked, maintaining eye contact with me.
“I’ll keep my hands around you, and you’ll walk me right through the crowd. I hope no one is going to stop you this time.”
“No one would dare stand in my way anymore. Alpha Alaric isn’t a threat to my leadership or me; he knows better than to stop me in another man’s territory. It’ll be him against the Eastwood Pack and me.” He assured me of my protection, knowing that I would have gone with him the other time if not for the man who stood in his way and caused a scene.
We arrived in our convoy, but there were other designated guests trooping out of their convoy vehicles. Kieran was most respected, and standing with him gave me all the limelight I needed.
He held my hand and led me into the building; his soldiers protected us from the press, and I felt thrilled when I sat beside him in the section meant for important people.
“Do you think Valeria is going to attend this occasion with her father?”
“I don’t know, Father, but the moment you see your friend, who tells you she’s here with him.”
“He’s on his way.” He replied as he showed Kieran and me the text on his phone. I wasn’t bothered, but I knew Valeria would be pissed when she found out that she and the soldiers were wearing the same outfit.
“So my son tells me that you saved him from making a mistake.”
“How did you know about that, father?”
“People talk at the office, and I’ve always kept a close eye on you, son, despite you being the best. I always have to be certain you don’t make mistakes.” His father rubbed his shoulder and returned his attention to me.
“Yes, I did. I spotted their flaws and even helped point out the bad eggs in his company, so he can also have a good record, too.” I replied, watching the warm smile that crept onto his face.
Calling him by his name would sound so ridiculous, so I’d have to stick with the word 'sir.'
“A two-for-one special.” He stretched out his right hand for a handshake, and it felt so good to me at that point.
An hour into the celebration, Valeria and her father walked into the building holding hands. She was shocked to see Kieran in a white suit, sitting with a lady who was wearing a red velvet dress.
“Kieran, you didn’t think to wait for me?. We had to drive down to your pack, but were told you left already.”
“We had to be here on time, so my apologies; you can join the guards over there. There’s no seat left for you here.”
“I’d stay with my dad.” I couldn’t shake off the surprised look on her face; it felt like I had poked a nerve inside of her.
“She’s pissed,” I whispered into Kieran’s ear as he got up to his feet since it was time for couples to dance.
I remembered the steps he taught me at the office, but I never expected him to dance with me before everyone here. It’s an event, and Kieran wants to do this.
“How about we make it more interesting by enjoying the music together?” He wanted me to dance with him, and he helped me up to my feet.
“This is more than a crowd. Can you see the caliber of people around here? I quickly tried to adjust the ends of my dress, but I couldn’t bend down to reach it.
Kieran went down on one knee to adjust my dress and also help with the buckles of my heels, and he wasn’t scared of the people watching.
“Dancing with Kieran is like dancing with the owner of the song. He loves this song; everyone does.” His father wanted to see us dance, which was why he said those words. I could see how excited he was about it.“Are you sure about this?”We tried it together, remember. It’s the same song, so just keep the steps calm, and you'll enjoy every second of it.” He uttered while walking me to the dance floor.
Valeria stood with her father and danced while keeping her eyes glued to Kieran as we got there. Valeria was stealing the show with her father; I could tell her father had danced while he was younger.
“What is he doing here?” Kieran cursed under his breath.
Who is he talking about?...
Crystal POVI downed the entire contents of the first cup and filled my second cup, repeating the same act not because I wanted to get drunk. I hated that she used us for the promotion of her book without giving us any payment. The sales of her book are going to go way up, but I hope it’s worth the hype. I checked out the new stocks before he even told me about that; if only he knew how attracted I am to new stocks.“What’s wrong?”“It’s been a while, and you know how much it takes to be what you are right now, but giving her that promotion on a free platter seems too kind.”“You know I can’t let you have a third cup; we’ve still got a long day ahead of us…” He stopped immediately when someone knocked on the door.“Mr. Kieran.”“Who are you and what do you want?” I asked, belching afterward, before turning my eyes to her; he signaled me to go sit down behind my table. He figured out that the wine’s effects had started showing.“Well, we heard of the benefits you’re giving us, the owne
Kieran POVWe couldn’t finish all of it, so we left it for the guards to take it back home for their use. crystal wore a suspicious look on her face, still thinking about what happened inside the cafe.“You think so much about the past. Don’t hold that in your mind because it has no value; you’d be carrying a burden that’s not meant for you.” I advised her before ushering her into the back of the truck.“I felt so nervous watching you speak to another lady, and I hate that feeling.” She confessed before turning her eyes back to her phone.I thought about Lyra’s friend and the review she asked me to make to support her book and make it a good read for everyone. She wants the media to promote her work, and I have no choice because I’d have to keep my word.We arrived at the office, and she was standing there, looking frustrated.“I thought we had a deal.”“Come with us, Olivia. There’s no reason to cause a fuss because it’s not worth it; you want a review? Then follow us.” Lyra spoke to
Crystal POV I never expected Kieran to act like that. He pushed the man away like he was trying to take something very valuable from him. He was only having a conversation, and the moment he tried to touch me, I saw the man on the ground and Kieran dragging me to the car. He agreed to stop at the cafe because he was famished, as I was. Treating ourselves to a breakfast treat isn’t a bad idea. “Why are you both staying back beside the SUV?” I asked as they got out, but didn’t want to walk with us. “Come with us, get a table, and order what you want. He’s going to pay.” I chuckled, acting like I never knew he was still pissed. While getting seated, his phone was beeping with calls, and I wondered why. I checked the schedules and realized we had no meetings today, so why would the receptionist be calling?“What’s wrong?”“Ma, there’s a woman here by the name Olivia, she’s saying that our boss has to send a review of her book to the press, and he hasn’t done that. She’s pissed, but I
Kieran POv When we arrived at the courthouse, I was relieved that there were no reporters at the entrance of the courthouse. I noticed that Lyra’s countenance changed the moment she got out of the SUV. She quickly wrapped the scarf around her head and her face, leaving only her eyes visible to the public. No one would joke that she’s the one. I figured she did that because of the reporters. “Go in there and let Judge Johnson know that we’re here to see him. Enso Blackwood is the name you’d give to him.”“Other people are waiting to see him.”“Do I look like other people? Do what you’re told, or my guards will help you do your job.” He agreed to my request because he knows that if my guard stormed into the courtroom, it would cause a little chaos, and he might lose his job in respect to that. “Wait here.” He walked into the courtroom slowly while I kept my eyes around and turned to the reception hallway, where the guard mentioned people were waiting to see Judge Johnson. Ethan wa
Kieran POVI had to adjust myself before heading down to the dining table. My father, his beta, and Lyra were already seated without me.“Apple stew?” I was shocked that someone actually made this. No one makes better apple stew than my late mother. I ate in silence as we all did; my father didn’t say a word, and I knew why he was doing this. He didn’t want us to talk about Valeria in front of his Beta and Lyra. Why would I talk about a woman I don’t love? After the meal, Lyra went to bed and didn’t say a word to me. She dozed off in my arms, and I woke up in the morning to discover that she wasn’t in bed with me. “Lyra,” I called her name, but heard no response. I got up from bed, stretched out my arms, and got into the washroom,m but she wasn’t there. I wondered if she had left the house. I was surprised to see her running back into the house through the front gate. She went for an early morning run to wherever, and she got me worried at some point.Lyra has never woken up to
Ethan’s POV I drove to one of the city's largest law firms to see my lawyer. He’s an old friend of mine, and keeping him by my side through this divorce is the best way to keep that ugly urchin in check. “Barrister Smith. How’re you doing?”“What are you doing here?”“I’m here because of the divorce,e and you know we have to make it a lot harder for her to make her work for me,” I explained to him, watching his hand grasp for the bottle of whiskey. I stopped to observe him for a while, then noticed he was drunk and had a picture on his phone. “What’s wrong, Barrister?” I inquired as he was about to grab his pho,ne but I stopped him and wondered why he’d be drinking whiskey at this time of the day.“Come on, what’s going on here?”“I’ve been a divorce attorney for more than a decade, enjoying a happy married life,e and now I’m going through my own divorce.” I was shocked when he turned his phone screen so I could see a video of his wife and another man on a boat cruise. “You’re ab
