Ethan’s POV

“It’s been two weeks since she left, and I’ve had the best times with you, and I want this never to end, Ethan. You’re the man of the hour, and she’s boring. She’s nothing without you.” Serene muttered, trailing her fingers on my chest.

It was a fun night, and it ended with her showering me with praise, which I found very soothing to my ears.

“She’s an urchin who reeks of poverty, if she comes back begging…”

“Don’t even mention that you’re going to accept her back. If you do that,t I’d take my daughter and leave you for good, don’t you dare, re Ethan.” She chimed in, sounding it as a warning.

“I can’t trade my daughter for her. She’s nothing to me, oh, me Serene. There’s no reason for you to be worried. If she comes back, I’d make a mockery of her in public and send her away for good.” I kissed her forehead after letting her know my plan if she eventually returns.

“I can only imagine how she would crawl back to the hole where she is right now.” Serene chuckles as she gets up from the bed. She strolls to the window.

She was enjoying the view of the pack. She let out a soft sigh and turned to me.

“One day, you’d be king over this pack, and I’d be your queen. We might be kind enough to give your ex-wife a job at the castle. She could be a cleaner or a chef.”

“A chef, preferably because her food tastes good.”

“Tastes better than mine, right?” She hissed and stopped looking at me, closed the window, and stormed into the washroom.

I don’t have to go after her because of what I said. It’s true, her food tastes better. They can’t be compared. Crystal’s skills are over the roof level, and she’s down below my feet.

“If you always loved her meals, you shouldn’t have divorced her. Now you make me feel like I’m forcing you to eat mine.” She declared, leaving the door open ssoI could see her.

“Your meal tastes good, speaking of which. You have to make breakfast.”

“The maids can handle that, Ethan. I haven’t even gotten my hair and nails done, and you want me to make breakfast for you.” She pretended to fall so I could catch her, which I did.

I’d try not to get pissed by Serene Sinclair because she’s so dramatic…

“You want money for your hair and nails, and yet you don’t know your…”

“When you had my legs above my head, you didn’t see that as a responsibility, right? Do you know how many minutes I stayed in that position just for you? Don’t test my patience, Ethan.”

“Watch your tone when you speak to me, woman.” I snapped, making her shudder, er and at the same time, she kept mute and curled herself in the sheets.

She always pushes me to this stat,e and when it erupts, she acts like she did nothing. Typical Serene.

“You should get up on your feet because we have a lot to achieve together, Serene. I’m going to take a shower.” I untied my robe in her presence and turned my back on her, heading to the washroom.

After a few minutes of meditation under the hot shower, I feel Serene’s hands crawling around my chest. She was standing behind me,

“You want to shower without me, Ethan? That’s absurd. It doesn’t even sound right to the ears. We’re a couple, so we’re meant to do everything as one.” She talked right under the shower, caring less about the water trickling down her face.

I didn’t respond to her words. Rathe,r I planted a soft kiss on her lips;s, she wanted more than the kiss, but I had other plans in mind and not pleasure.

“This is one of the reasons why I don’t like you.”

“You don’t like me?”

“I don’t mean it that way,y but you’re soft this minute and next minute you’re like a brick wall that’s hard to bring down.” She hissed and picked up the sponge.

“Let me help you.” I offered to help wash her body,dy but she declined, making me believe that she was doing all this because I refused her advances.

“I have two working hands so I can use them; I don’t need your help, Ethan.”

“I insist.” I tried to reach for the sponge in her hand, hoping she would give it to me willingly, but instead she pushed her hands backwards.

You’re making it harder for me, Serene. We’ve got a lot to handle today. I have to go meet my lawyer and find a way to make Crystal’s life more miserable than it already is.

“You don’t want it anymore?” Serene brought my mind back to the reality of still standing in the shower with her.

“I do.”

“What are your thoughts, sweetheart?” She knew I was battling with my thoughts after waiting for me to collect the sponge from her, but I didn’t until her voice dragged me from my introspection.

“I’d like to make Crystal’s life more miserable.”

“I love that word; it sounds just like you, Ethan. I’d give you all the support you need to make her life more miserable.” She roared in laughter as she handed the sponge to me after much persuasion.

I washed her body, and she returned the same favor and even wanted to help dry my body, but I refused and wrapped the towel around my waist.

I was surprised to see my daughter sitting on the bedside of my room.

“Good morning, Dad. Where is Momm?” Talia inquired about Crystal, and it made me sick to the stomach; even Serene was shocked to hear her call Crystal mom.

“What did she just say?”

“Where’s mom? I haven’t seen her in a week, and no one has opted to read bedtime stories for me,e but mom does that every day when she returns from work.” Talia explained why she was in search of Crystal.

“I’ll have one of the maids handle that responsibility, your mother is here, Talia. Let’s go.” Serene carried her in her arms and trudged out of our bedroom.

How dare she call Crystall mom? That lowlife would never be a mother; she’s nothing but an empty vessel walking on a thread line.

Expect nothing but pain from me, Crystal Sinclair. This is just the beginning.

Crystal POVI downed the entire contents of the first cup and filled my second cup, repeating the same act not because I wanted to get drunk. I hated that she used us for the promotion of her book without giving us any payment. The sales of her book are going to go way up, but I hope it’s worth the hype. I checked out the new stocks before he even told me about that; if only he knew how attracted I am to new stocks.“What’s wrong?”“It’s been a while, and you know how much it takes to be what you are right now, but giving her that promotion on a free platter seems too kind.”“You know I can’t let you have a third cup; we’ve still got a long day ahead of us…” He stopped immediately when someone knocked on the door.“Mr. Kieran.”“Who are you and what do you want?” I asked, belching afterward, before turning my eyes to her; he signaled me to go sit down behind my table. He figured out that the wine’s effects had started showing.“Well, we heard of the benefits you’re giving us, the owne

Kieran POVWe couldn’t finish all of it, so we left it for the guards to take it back home for their use. crystal wore a suspicious look on her face, still thinking about what happened inside the cafe.“You think so much about the past. Don’t hold that in your mind because it has no value; you’d be carrying a burden that’s not meant for you.” I advised her before ushering her into the back of the truck.“I felt so nervous watching you speak to another lady, and I hate that feeling.” She confessed before turning her eyes back to her phone.I thought about Lyra’s friend and the review she asked me to make to support her book and make it a good read for everyone. She wants the media to promote her work, and I have no choice because I’d have to keep my word.We arrived at the office, and she was standing there, looking frustrated.“I thought we had a deal.”“Come with us, Olivia. There’s no reason to cause a fuss because it’s not worth it; you want a review? Then follow us.” Lyra spoke to

Crystal POV I never expected Kieran to act like that. He pushed the man away like he was trying to take something very valuable from him. He was only having a conversation, and the moment he tried to touch me, I saw the man on the ground and Kieran dragging me to the car. He agreed to stop at the cafe because he was famished, as I was. Treating ourselves to a breakfast treat isn’t a bad idea. “Why are you both staying back beside the SUV?” I asked as they got out, but didn’t want to walk with us. “Come with us, get a table, and order what you want. He’s going to pay.” I chuckled, acting like I never knew he was still pissed. While getting seated, his phone was beeping with calls, and I wondered why. I checked the schedules and realized we had no meetings today, so why would the receptionist be calling?“What’s wrong?”“Ma, there’s a woman here by the name Olivia, she’s saying that our boss has to send a review of her book to the press, and he hasn’t done that. She’s pissed, but I

Kieran POv When we arrived at the courthouse, I was relieved that there were no reporters at the entrance of the courthouse. I noticed that Lyra’s countenance changed the moment she got out of the SUV. She quickly wrapped the scarf around her head and her face, leaving only her eyes visible to the public. No one would joke that she’s the one. I figured she did that because of the reporters. “Go in there and let Judge Johnson know that we’re here to see him. Enso Blackwood is the name you’d give to him.”“Other people are waiting to see him.”“Do I look like other people? Do what you’re told, or my guards will help you do your job.” He agreed to my request because he knows that if my guard stormed into the courtroom, it would cause a little chaos, and he might lose his job in respect to that. “Wait here.” He walked into the courtroom slowly while I kept my eyes around and turned to the reception hallway, where the guard mentioned people were waiting to see Judge Johnson. Ethan wa

Kieran POVI had to adjust myself before heading down to the dining table. My father, his beta, and Lyra were already seated without me.“Apple stew?” I was shocked that someone actually made this. No one makes better apple stew than my late mother. I ate in silence as we all did; my father didn’t say a word, and I knew why he was doing this. He didn’t want us to talk about Valeria in front of his Beta and Lyra. Why would I talk about a woman I don’t love? After the meal, Lyra went to bed and didn’t say a word to me. She dozed off in my arms, and I woke up in the morning to discover that she wasn’t in bed with me. “Lyra,” I called her name, but heard no response. I got up from bed, stretched out my arms, and got into the washroom,m but she wasn’t there. I wondered if she had left the house. I was surprised to see her running back into the house through the front gate. She went for an early morning run to wherever, and she got me worried at some point.Lyra has never woken up to

Ethan’s POV I drove to one of the city's largest law firms to see my lawyer. He’s an old friend of mine, and keeping him by my side through this divorce is the best way to keep that ugly urchin in check. “Barrister Smith. How’re you doing?”“What are you doing here?”“I’m here because of the divorce,e and you know we have to make it a lot harder for her to make her work for me,” I explained to him, watching his hand grasp for the bottle of whiskey. I stopped to observe him for a while, then noticed he was drunk and had a picture on his phone. “What’s wrong, Barrister?” I inquired as he was about to grab his pho,ne but I stopped him and wondered why he’d be drinking whiskey at this time of the day.“Come on, what’s going on here?”“I’ve been a divorce attorney for more than a decade, enjoying a happy married life,e and now I’m going through my own divorce.” I was shocked when he turned his phone screen so I could see a video of his wife and another man on a boat cruise. “You’re ab
