Diana’s POV
Something else also caught my attention, the fact that Marcel had to say something about having sex in the car. Honestly, I wasn't even bothered about it. I liked the fact that he was thinking that we had sex in the car; all I wanted to do was to come outside and see the expression on his face after saying that. There was just something about the way he said it, the way he sounded like it had happened before. I tried to imagine Raphael in the backseat of a car with a lady having sex; I couldn't even picture it; it seemed impossible. I haven't known him for long, but the short moment I have spent with him, he just didn't seem like that kind of guy to me. If something like that ever happened in the past, there had to be some sort of explanation; maybe he was framed, or the lady in question was the one who wanted him. With All of this, I made up my mind to find out when I finally get to know him properly and become a Lorenzo too. I sat in the car, wondering if this was God's way of giving me a last name as I had lost the only last name I used to know. Very soon I will no longer be 'just Diana' but DIANA LORENZO. I fantasised about how our wedding would look like the surprise and angry expressions on their face. It's going to be a sight for sore eyes. I chuckled at my imagination. But then I wondered if this was a good decision; what if the family refuses to give the managing rights to Raphael because he got married to me? A soft knock on the window brought me back to life. I knew that that was my cue to come outside. I exhaled. I opened the door, placed one foot outside, then the next, and then I was out. "You've been looking for her, here she is" Raphael said "So you were inside with her? How shameless can you be?" Mrs Riley shot at Raphael "Shameless?" he scoffed. "If there is anyone who needs to be Shameless, it's you and every other person who humiliated Diana today." "What's so special about her anyway." "How can you be so Shameless, Diana, because you couldn't have me? You want to have my elder brother?" Marcel said I looked at him briefly, then looked away. "Since you don't want her, someone else does and that's Me" he smiled "What!" Marcel and Mrs Riley exclaimed. "You heard me," he said, striding toward me. He held my hands tightly "I am getting married to Diana in the next two weeks." "Two weeks!" I muttered under my breath. That was so fast; how could he just make a decision just like that without letting me know? My eyes widened in bewilderment. "Have you gone nuts? Two weeks?" Mrs Riley yelled "I have never been more sensible" he chuckled Holding my hands tightly, he said, "From now on, I prefer that you respect and regard Ms. Diana here as my wife." He pulled me back inside the mansion. We met the icy gaze of Marco, Anna and every other family member who didn't want me, including the Kensington's and their daughters. Everyone seemed to be astonished; confusion laced on their faces. Raphael pulled me over to where Lorenzo Senior sat. On his knees, he said, "Gramps, you've always wanted me to get a lady for myself; I have found her." I stood quietly by his side, avoiding the gaze of Lorenzo senior and Mrs Audrey Lorenzo, his wife. "Where is she? Is she here? Bring her to me," Grandpa said, his voice filled with happiness. "She's standing right in front of you Gramps." He said. I went straight on my knees, heads bowed and murmuring words of greetings. "Are you sure about this?" Grandmother asked "I have never been so sure about anything in my life" Raphael replied. "No! Never! This can't be. I object to it," Mrs Riley yelled from the entrance. "And who are you to object when I see no reason to withhold my blessings?" Grandmother said. My heart leapt for joy; I was worried that Grandma Audrey wouldn't bless us, considering that I had dated their second grandson before. "She's Marcel's ex for crying out loud" "And so what if she is?" she shot back at her. "She doesn't have a name anymore she's just Diana," Mrs Riley said angrily "And so what? Who gives a damn about a last name, all I know is she's a good girl..." she paused, took in a deep breath "If Marcel is too blind to see that, then that's his cup of tea. If Raphael’s eyes have Been opened to her goodness who are we to say no" she said holding Grandpa's arm. "Gramps, you can't do this; Raphael is only doing this because he wants the company." Marcel lamented "By right, the company belongs to him, so even if he doesn't get married I still would have handed over the company to him" "But gramps..." "That's enough Marcel" "No, that's not enough," Mrs. Riley shot back at Gramps. "If you always knew you would give it to him, then why did you say they had to show you their fiancée to be considered?" Gramps exhaled "That's because I was worried about Raphael" Worried? Why was he worried? "I was concerned he might remain single for life, so I needed to encourage him to consider starting a family." "And what would have happened if he didn't?" Anna interrupted "I still would have handed the company to him either way because he is the only one capable of maintaining the company." Everybody in the living room began to murmur, including the Kensington's. I was shocked by Gramps's decision; I never imagined he would go that far just to ensure his grandson got married. Deceiving a whole family? That's intense? But I was glad for one thing— The Lorenzo's were falling apart right before my eyes.Diana's POV "If it isn't the impostor."I didn't need a soothsayer to tell me that this was none other than Serena. She was in Ciara's house. How the hell did she even know the way to Ciara's house?Ciara and I heaved a sigh of frustration before turning to see Serena and Anna standing by the side of our house."What are you doing here?" I asked, sounding frustrated."Oh, I came to see my sister, oh my bad, you got disowned," she mocked.Anna and Serena burst out laughing."Look Serena, please go back to where you came from. I don't have the strength for a fight or an argument right now.""What do you mean by 'the strength for an argument right now'? I didn't come here to drag grounds with you; I came to make you know your place."I scoffed. "Know my place?" I moved closer, folding my arms. "Now tell me, how do you intend to do that?""Come on, Ciara, there's no need wasting our time here; she's not worth it."Anna and Serena laughed hysterically. "You think you can take what belongs
Diana's POV "Where am I?" he asked, seeming confused. "Am I at the hospital right now?" he asked, his voice laced with regret.I rushed over to where he was, holding his arms and squeezing them tightly a bit. "Diana, what about our introduction party? We need to go there now," he said, attempting to stand."No, Raphael, that can wait. Besides, you already did the introduction before all this happened.""Are you sure? I can't seem to remember anything from when I got up the stage with you.""Hey friend, you did introduce her to everyone before you slumped," Sebastian interrupted. He heaved a deep sigh of relief."How do you feel now, Marcus?" Shania asked."I feel like a thousand chandeliers had been smashed into my back," he said in a funny tone.Everyone burst out laughing.Shortly after, Gramps, Grandma Audrey, and Lorenzo Junior walked into the hospital room."Oh my God, my grandson!" Grandma Audrey exclaimed."I am so sorry for making you and Gramps worry about me.""Snap out of
Marcel's POV I was seated by myself in the living room, my thoughts swirling with ideas of retribution. The invitation card scattered on the ground at my feet—a fitting symbol for my intentions regarding Raphael and Diana's relationship. I was left to my own affairs by everyone, including Serena, who appeared let down by my outburst toward my mother. I pictured a vivid image of broken chandeliers, The astonished expressions. The lovely disorder I would generate at their welcoming celebration. I took out my phone and called Marco, my brother.Marco was the last born of the lorenzos but he's quite hot blooded and he hated Raphael as much as I do. He doesn't like to stay in the family house because he didn't like the fact that gramps was always about business and living responsibly so he made dad and mom get him an apartment."Marco, I need your help," I said, skipping the formalities. "What do you want, bro?" he answered immediately. "Have you seen the venue where the introduction
Marcel's POV "Are you going to sit and watch your brother take everything you've worked so hard to earn?" Serena said, her voice sounding like a lioness roar.I ignored. Lost in my thoughts.I sat on the couch, frustrated and angry; my brother, sorry, that kind of a person isn't my brother. That monster wants to take away what is rightfully mine.He left us years ago, and now he was back, about to reap from where he didn't sow."Are you even listening to me, Marcel?" She yelled "I need to think, Serena, please give me a break," I yelled back at her.She took a few steps backwards. I knew instantly that she was annoyed, but I couldn't worry about that at that moment. Raphael was about to become the heir to the Lorenzos dynasty and it wasn't just that he was going to get married to my ex Diana. There was no way I was going to sit and watch that happen.Over my dead body."Marcel", Mom called me the name from downstairs.I was in my parent's mansion. At first, I didn't want to go.Why
Diana’s POV Moving closer to me, she asked, "Why didn't you tell me he was here?" her voice a whisper."I tried to but you weren't getting it."She turned and greeted him respectfully. "I am Ciara Bennett." "Well, I am Sebastian Hayes."Ciara's jaw dropped in amazement.Sebastian smiled."Tell me you are joking""No, I am not joking; I am Sebastian Hayes, son of the mayor of this great city.""Oh my gosh, I have heard so much about you." She lied Ciara had this funny attitude of pretending to have heard about someone she's just meeting for the first time, but it's nothing serious; it's just one of her old daddy jokes."Really?""Oh no, I am just playing with you" She laughed happily."Oh my, you almost got me, dear Ms Bennett.""It's Ciara, please." She corrected."Okay... noted Ciara." He smiled. She turned to face me."How's he doing? He is going to be fine soon.""We don't know yet; Shania went in with the doctor as he insisted he had to see a family member, and no one else was
Diana’s POV "I am sorry I am late, If I had been here earlier all this wouldn't have happened""It's fine, what matters is that you are here now.""I am surprised you've still got those moves," Shania said punching him lightly."Oh those moves, they come in handy when I need them."They kept on discussing forgetting that I was in their midst. I wasn't angry because I understood that it had probably been a while since they had seen each other. Plus, it also felt good to see Raphael smile genuinely.I was about to move away when I felt his hands on me, griping them tightly a little bit, then reducing their grip. I understood what it meant.I smiled. He needed me there with him. Shortly after a loud screeching sound came from the microphone on the podium.Mr Lorenzo Junior was on the podium and was going to address everyone."I am sorry for what you all had to experience here right now; please, it's with deep and great sadness that I bring to you the news that this introduction party h
