Not alone was right, the Blood Fang pack was huge, and this was just as far as I could see.

“This is the Warriors’ sector,” Dante said stretching his arms to encompass the entire area.

Men and Women alike strolled around in combat boots, cargo pants, and fitted tops. Nearby, I could hear grunts from people training; the whole place reeked of sweat and damp. A man walked towards us dressed like the masses, except that his face was framed by glasses, his hair was blond, and swept back.

“Ramirez, Delgado, you’re late.” He said his voice was deep and authoritative.

Dante and Angelica suddenly stood at attention before him, and there were a few tense moments of silence before they all burst into laughter.

“Honestly, Carl, I cannot get over how good you are at sounding all serious,” Angelica said, still laughing.

“What can I say? It’s a gift.” He responded with a shrug. “I beat you two again. Why on earth did it take you guys a day longer to get back?”

“Well, we could tell you, but it would

SARAH'S POVI felt something in me shatter, I would come to discover later on that it was my heart. “Whoa, Sarah?” He exclaimed, “What are you doing in my room?” He asked, a confused look on his face.“ I-I wanted to speak to you,” I said.“And you couldn't find me outside or tomorrow?” He asked.“No, this cannot wait,” I said in response.“Alright,” He draped his arm over Bianca who was glaring at me, "Speak, what do you want?”“Camille’s in the hospital,” I began. I saw his eyes widen in shock, and I relaxed, perhaps he really didn't know anything about it after all. “She received a package of cookies from her ‘secret admirer’, but it was laced with wolfsbane.”“Is she alright?” He asked, and Bianca, still silent, rolled her eyes.“Yes, she is, thankfully I might add. Doc said if she'd eaten anymore it could have seriously harmed her.” I replied, my eyes trained on him as I watched Bianca from my peripheral vision.“Okay, so what do you want with me then?” He had a puzzled look on

SARAH’S POVIt was a lot harder than I thought it would be. Telling my story to Lilliana. Camille had witnessed it so she only stared at me, her hand reaching to grab mine in support. Now here was my tale, the reason why Jordan and I had such unspoken things between us:My arrival at the Blood Fang pack was under the cover of darkness. I was so scared that we would be denied entry but he wasn’t. Jordan was a stable rock for me throughout our journey here.“You’re worrying again.” He said to me as he glanced at me.“I can't help it,” I muttered, my nails were under assault by my teeth and I couldn't stop.“You're going to run out of nails at this rate.” He said as he held my hands to stop me from biting them.“What if they don't let us in?” I finally asked the question that I knew was plaguing his mind as well.“That won't happen” He assured, “They never turn anyone away.”“Well, what if they've changed their policy or something?”“Well, if that happens, there's no need to worry, we j

The shower was divine and my bed was calling my name. How could I refuse? I collapsed onto the bed and sighed in satisfaction. “Aaaah,” I said out loud. I snuggled my head deeper into the pillow and got into a fetal position. Before long I was asleep. “She’s back already?” “That was quick. I wasn’t expecting her back till evening.” “You think she ran away? I mean I would. I hear their training is intense.” “Lilliana wouldn’t run away. So don’t say such nonsense.” “Why is she back then? That’s what I want to know.” “We’ll just ask her when she wakes up. Plus, can’t you see her knees are scraped? She definitely did something.” “Alright, fine. I’ll wait for her to wake up.” “It’s not like you have another choice.” They laughed. I drifted back to sleep. My eyes blinked awake, and I lay still on the bed. My body felt heavy like it was made of lead. “Lilliana?” Sarah asked, “Are you awake?” My mouth also felt heavy and dry, “Yeah. I’m awake.” My voice cracked, “Can you please

Did I say that out loud? I panicked. “Listen, Lilliana,” He paused, “That is your name, right? I know it’s what Angel called you.” “Angel?” I stared at him warily. “Yes, Angel. Sorry, I forgot I’m the only one who calls her that. Angelica.” He clarified. “Oh uh, yeah. That’s my name- Lilliana.” I nodded. “That’s too long.” He suddenly decided. “What? My name’s not too long.” I protested. “Yes, yes it is. It’s four syllables. I don’t have time to waste pronouncing a four-syllable name. You are Lil from now on.” He pointed at me. “Lil?” I was perplexed, “What on earth is Lil?” “You are, obviously.” “I am not answering to ‘Lil’.” “You act like you have a choice. Either you answer Lil or I keep calling you runt. But I am for sure not calling you Lilliana.” Confusion and horror were evident in my expression, I just knew it. “Oh, wipe that expression off your face, Lil,” He said dismissively, “You’ll get used to it.” “I don’t think I want to,” I responded. “We

I had been running for two hours. How? I had no freaking clue. I kept waiting for my body to just give up at any moment but it seemed we were still going strong. Pack warriors had started to come in for training, which meant it was 12 PM or probably past 12. I was having half a mind to just quit but then I saw Angelica and Dante, they were cheering for me on the side. The warriors had turned my running into a betting game. ‘How much longer would the runt last?’ That’s what they muttered to themselves as they placed bets. I was panting and sweaty, my legs were vibrating, and I was on the verge of giving up, but I didn’t want to give in, not yet. These people were judging me and making conclusions about me based on how well I could run. I did not want them to think I was weak. After a while, I could feel that my body could not take much longer. I tripped over a rock. How did that get there? And my body saw that as an invitation to just not do anything anymore. I tumbled to the floor,

I was the training grounds; it was a large open field with tall walls that set it apart from the rest of the pack. Off to one side was an official-looking building. I walked towards, still looking around me, hoping I would run into someone before I entered the said building, but sadly that wasn’t the case. The building looked much bigger now that I was closer to it. I knocked softly but there was no response. Steeling myself, I opened the door and was instantly greeted by the cold blast of air-conditioned air. The man seated at the reception hall looked up impatiently at me. “Training hours are at noon. No need for your fan-girling this early in the day.” Early? Dude, it was 10 AM, also fan-girling? What on earth was he talking about? I wasn’t here to be a fan-girl. “Oh, no, that’s not why I’m-” I began, “Listen, kid,” He said, frowning at me, “I don’t have time for whatever it is you’re trying to do today. As you can see, I am very busy. Now beat it.” He finished and made a ‘sho
